With rugged tires and undercarriage to handle rough terrain and a large rear cargo bed, pickup trucks are in high demand throughout North America, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Australia and many popular pickup trucks have been recreated as R/C models. Toyota developed the Tacoma mainly for the North American market and it has continued to sell well since its release in 1995. This model is based on the 3rd generation Tacoma which first appeared to much acclaim in 2016 due to its aggressive styling and practicality. The top of the range Tacoma TRD Pro has been recreated by Kyosho with a tough 1/10 scale chassis in a Readyset package. Kyosho’s molding craftmanship immaculately reproduces the TRD Pro body in lightweight but rigid polycarbonate resin with the strength for hard off-road driving. Based on the off-road KB10 chassis, the long wheelbase and short tread of the KB10L chassis matches the body perfectly. The shaft-driven 4WD system reliably transfers the brute power of the TORX10L brushless motor to reach top speeds of about 75km/h under the management of the ESC (Electronic Speed Control) and a compatible 3S (11.1V) lipo battery. This convenient Readyset package contains the fun of an ultra-scale pickup truck on a dynamic off-road chassis with a finish similar in quality to premium display-only models.

Rear 2WD models are typically easier to assemble and maintain and exhibit nimble driving characteristics; and then there are the equally popular 4WD models, which use drive force to all four wheels for superior traction on low-grip roads compared to 2WD. For drivers considering a step up from entry-level models, we are proud to introduce the Lazer SB Dirt Cross 4WD, which is a cost-optimized version of the competition-level ZX-5 that has continued to evolve performance and control as the cutting-edge of Kyosho’s worldwide 4WD EP buggy racing campaigns. While the suspension and driven system are retained from the proven Lazer ZX-5, the Dirt Cross does much more than reduce costs; it is designed to appeal to a new generation of R/C racers. From its debut in 1985 the Kyosho Optima 1/10 scale electric 4WD buggy quickly established itself as a top-level competition model. The innovative design featured a ladder frame with rear motor layout like the 2WD Scorpion series but incorporated a chain drive to the front wheels. The pinnacle of the Optima series evolution was the Optima Pro released in 1987. Retaining the frame and drive system, the relaunch of the Optima Pro uses the advanced slim aero body and underbody form with revised mounting positions of the battery and steering servo to improve weight distribution and concentrate heavy components in the center of the chassis for significant performance improvements. After 37 years, the Optima Pro is making its long-awaited comeback as the 15th model of the Kyosho Vintage Series. Like other Vintage Series models, it retains the same basic design but with updates that match each component to modern R/C systems and power sources. These functional components are unique to the modern version of the Optima Pro. The frame is a traditional ladder tube type incorporating a belt-driven 4WD system, which was an option on the original, and a gearbox with increased durability. The modernized radio plate mounts the battery and R/C components and is unique to the modern Optima Pro. Major aluminum parts, including the front and rear oil shocks, have a gunmetal finish that was a signature color of the Kyosho works team at the time. The Optima’s timeless slimline body and underbody design delivers enhanced aerodynamic performance. Although the original version had a short sales period of only about six months, the revival of Optima Pro will make the Kyosho Vintage series even more exciting for years to come as the ultimate rear-motor powered Optima.

The threaded ride height adjustment is inspired by the pressure shocks, which were a popular option part in the 1980s. The gunmetal color finish, which was the team color at the time, comes with fine selection spring with an optimum spring rate.
The resin-molded front shock tower, which has the same dimensions as the team carbon front shock tower (OTW108), achieves stable handling by increasing the shock mounting angle.
The rear shock stay is made of high-strength (7075) duralumin, finished in stylish gun metal like the shock absorbers. In addition to robust crash resistance, the rear stay supports agile movement of the rear suspension.
The belt drive, which was an option on the original model, uses a low-friction (OT260) drive belt for greater efficiency. However, you can recreate the chain-drive style from the 1980s by changing to the (OT226) chain (sold separately).
The new Optimal Pro features a specially designed injection molded resin radio plate that optimizes the position of the battery and steering servo for improved handling.

The front and rear shock stays have been upgraded from the RB7's plastic material to 4mm thick carbon fiber, significantly enhancing strength and rigidity. New aluminum oil shocks with 13mm pistons enhance stability at high speeds and over uneven surfaces while effectively absorbing landing impacts. The springs have also been upgraded for improved performance.
The aluminum steering crank and plate ensure smooth operation and high rigidity, enhancing steering response. Additionally, the upper bulkhead shape has been modified to prevent interference with the servo horn.
The completely redesigned aluminum rear hub carriers allow for changes in upper rod length by adjusting spacer thickness, increasing the capacity for ball bearings. The height of the suspension pins can be adjusted by replacing the resin bushings.
The new rear bulkhead features a separate upper rod mounting point. The aluminum upper rod mount enhances suspension rigidity and allows for tuning of the suspension geometry by adjusting the rod mounting height.

This is Kyosho 1/12 FANTOM Ext CRC-II Kit 4WD RC Racing Pan Car EP. Amazing running agility! "FANTOM EP-4WD Ext" is the last reincarnation of the famous FANTOM EP form! Two years after the seismic impact of the FANTOM EP-4WD’s debut win, the "FANTOM EP-4WD Ext" stunned the world by achieving the same feat against an even more competitive field at the 1985 Japan Championship.
Racing surface conditions at that time were improving and race formats changed from the fiery 4-minute races to 8-minute endurance races. The "FANTOM EP-4WD Ext" was developed to meet this trend. Kyosho was the first to introduce the chain + one-way 4WD system developed for 1/8 engine models into 1/12 electric racing cars. The front one-way system enabled power to be applied earlier through corners, allowing for more aggressive driving. On the other hand, energy efficiency didn’t improve and it was prone to stalling when power was taken off.
In the Ext, high-dimensional fusion of the 3P suspension reinforces weak points. 2.2mm suspension stroke is realized through specially shaped springs creating a "progressive spring effect" by compressing the suspension according to the roll amount of the chassis when entering a corner, and then extending from when it starts clipping too much to minimize stall when power is taken off. At the same time, energy efficiency is improved by reducing the time power is ON. The main chassis has been enhanced with an evolved front suspension to deliver increased rigidity from a reinforcing plate on the front that allows optimal movement of the suspension. Incorporating the direct servo saver into the steering servo increases the front load, allowing the chassis to be shaped so that the rear rolls and pitches flexibly in sync with the front. Oil damper is added for pitching control to improve the ground contact of the rear.
When first developed, the Ext was focused on weight reduction and its 880g was lighter than the first generation. The commitment to light weight remains in this relaunched version with the inclusion of lightweight knuckle arms and wheel nuts. Chassis is shaped to deliver rear suspension effect. Newly designed oil damper is equipped along the pitch direction and features a 2mm shaft to minimize changes in oil volume during stroke and ensure sufficient damping effect. High-precision CNC machined 3-piece motor mount and damper stay with oil damper produce reliable operation.
Moving the height adjuster in the rear axle up, down, left and right, allows the vehicle height to be changed 1.3 mm and the wheelbase to be changed by 1 mm (also adjusting the chain tension). Originally an optional setting, the motor mounting position is lowered to the same position as the machine-cut motor mount to produce a lower center of gravity.
A new long-type 48 pitch 21T pinion gear with newly designed differential is fully equipped with ball bearings to realize smooth operation. To commemorate Kyosho’s 60th anniversary, this limited-edition of the Phantom EP-4WD Ext features gold anodized aluminum parts and special black front and rear wheels. Performance has been further enhanced with a rear ball diff (not available in 1985) that works in perfect combination with a thicker (increased to 6mm diameter) lightweight carbon shaft that delivers smooth cornering characteristics on various surfaces from asphalt to carpet. In addition, the rear damper has been upgraded to the EFW014 adjustable rear shock (previously optional) to widen the scope of setting options and improve responsiveness for optimized running performance. Since its release in 2022, the Vintage Series Phantom EP-4WD Ext has captured the imagination of new fans as well as those who want to relive the glory days. Even if you already own the Phantom EP-4WD Ext, this limited-edition 60th anniversary commemorative model takes the Phantom experience to a whole new level.
The 60th anniversary gold version of the Ext chassis combines 3-point suspension with the ladder chain 4WD system that revolutionized the R/C racing world in 1985.
Black limited-edition front and rear wheels are unique to the 60th anniversary model. The kit comes with tires pre-glued and diameter adjusted, so you can drive as it is, without the need for adjustment work with a tire setter.
In response to user requests, this model features the first ball differential incorporated into the FANTOM EP series. Provides stable cornering characteristics in combination with an ultra-lightweight carbon shaft reinforced to 6mm in diameter. A newly designed special wheel bolt is used to fix the right wheel.
Lightweight and high rigidity carbon rear shaft is included as standard. Diameter has been increased from 5mm to 6mm, greatly improving crash resistance.
The 6mm rear left wheel hub also features the gold finish unique to the 60th anniversary model. The double screw clamp keeps it secure and prevents loosening while driving.
Previously only sold as an option, the Rear Adjust Shock Conversion (No.EFW014) is included as standard, allowing precision adjustment and a wider range of setting options.
Kingpin coil suspension with a specially shaped spring attached to the top of the front knuckle arm achieves smooth cornering by inducing body roll with minimal stroke.
Rear section of the main chassis is extensively cut to increase flexibility and produce the suspension effect. In combination with the oil-filled shock, this simple system delivers excellent surface tracing performance characteristics.
Efficient aerodynamics of the original CRC-II body design realizes excellent cornering performance. An optional rear wing used across the Phantom EP-4WD and BW Spider can be installed for increased stability.
