$69.99
An aircraft which possibly underlines the capabilities of the modern helicopter more effectively than any other type, the mighty Boeing CH-47 Chinook has already been in military service for over sixty years and shows no sign of disappearing from world skies any time soon.
The distinctive tandem twin-rotor configuration of this heavy-lift helicopter cleverly counteracts the effects of engine torque by having each of its huge rotor blade stacks rotate in opposite directions, thus negating the need for the tail rotors traditionally associated with helicopters.
The impressive Chinook made its first flight in 1961 and since then, it has become one of the most effective aircraft designs of the post-war era, capable of operating in almost any environment, no matter how inhospitable the terrain. Clearly, this has made the Chinook invaluable when performing many roles, ably tackling a multitude of military and civilian applications.
As the world's largest operator of the Chinook outside the US, the Royal Air Force ordered 33 of these heavy-lift behemoths in 1978, with No.18 Squadron taking the honour of becoming Britain's first operational Chinook unit in August 1981.
These first helicopters were designated HC.1 (Helicopter Cargo Mk.1) and had hardly settled into service when events on the other side of the world required their first overseas deployment. Following the Argentinean invasion of the Falkland Islands in April 1982, five of the RAF's Chinooks were wrapped in Driclad PVC protective covers and loaded on the deck of the requisitioned container ship Atlantic Conveyor.
Tragically, all but one of these helicopters was lost following an Exocet missile strike on the vessel, with that surviving Chinook earning legendary status within the RAF. Having already been in Royal Air Force service for over 42 years, the latest variants of the mighty Chinook seem certain to be in service for many years to come.

Entering RAF service in 1980, the mighty Boeing Chinook HC.1 has benefitted from almost constant upgrade and further procurement since that time, and has become an essential component within Britain’s military capabilities. Indeed, it seems as if the only aircraft capable of replacing a Chinook is another Chinook, a situation not likely to change for many years. With the latest Chinooks being some of the most advanced aircraft in the current Royal Air Force inventory, the Chinook Sustainment Programme will ensure these aircraft can continue serving the nation in a way only the Chinook can, for at least the next two decades.

The Z-19 is a Chinese light scout and attack helicopter. It was locally developed by Harbin. The Z-19 is esentially a tandem-seat version of the Z-9W, which in turn is a license-built version of the Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin. However this helicopter also shares some resemblance with the Japanese OH-1. The Z-19 made its first flight in 2011 and was publicly revealed in 2012. This helicopter is in service with Chinese army aviation regiment. It operates alongside the dedicated Z-10 attack helicopter.
The Z-19 is lightly armored. Both pilots are seated on crash-resistant seats. This scout and attack helicopter is equipped with a nose-mounted FLIR, TV and laser rangefinder.

Hasegawa H00433 1/72 UH-60A...
$27.95
The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk is a medium multi-role and infantry support helicopter of American production with a metal structure in a classic layout with a main rotor and a tail rotor on the beam. The drive of the UH-60 D version is provided by two General Electric T-700-700 engines with a capacity of 1560 HP each. The flight of the first prototype took place in 1974, and serial production, which started in 1974, is still ongoing. It is estimated that over 4,000 copies of this helicopter were built by 2017.
The Sikorsky UH-60 was created in response to a tender launched in 1972 by the US Army for a new transport helicopter to replace the UH-1 Huey machines. The new machine was supposed to have better performance, be cheaper to operate and be characterized by high survivability on the battlefield. All these criteria were met by the machine of the Sikorsky concern, with particular emphasis on the last of the above-mentioned elements. Many development versions of this very solid and successful helicopter were created in the course of serial production. The basic version was designated as UH-60A, which was used primarily for transport purposes. Later, the UH-60L version with more powerful engines was introduced, which increased the lifting capacity of the machine. A version of the S-70 International was also created, widely offered - often successfully - to foreign customers. It is worth adding that at present (2017) this version is produced in the plants in Mielec. Numerous specialized versions have also been created, such as the MH-60A, which is dedicated to American special forces. On the basis of the UH-60, the marine version, the SH-60 Seahawk, was also significantly changed. MH-60 helicopters actively participated in the intervention in Granada (1983), the operation in Mogadishu (1993), both wars in Iraq (1990-1991 and 2003), as well as in the operation in Afghanistan from 2001. They have also been exported to many countries, including Austria, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Israel, Japan and Turkey.

The McDonnell-Douglas (Boeing) AH-64 helicopter was selected as the winner in the competition with Bell's YAH-63 in December 1976. The name Apache stuck to the helicopter in 1981. This highly efficient machine has four-blade rotors driven by two General Electric T700-701 turbine engines with a capacity of 1696HP. The vestigial wings are fitted with conventional trailing edge flaps, and a plate tail improves longitudinal steering. The two-man crew takes seats one after the other in the armored cabin. The pilot's seat is in the rear, and the weapon operator / gunner is in the front. The key to the universal use of the helicopter are the TADS systems on the gunner's stand and the PNVS systems used by the pilot. The TADS is a target-tracking laser marker and rangefinder set and a forward-facing infrared sensor that is duplicated by the normal optics. The PNVS system is a developed FLIR system that allows you to pilot a helicopter just above the ground in order to prevent or delay detection by the enemy's anti-aircraft defense. Apache helicopters took part in the operation in Panama in 1989, during the Desert Storm in 1991, or the last conflict in Iraq (2003). At the end of 1990, the construction of a new version of the helicopter began, equipped with a Martin / Westinghouse Longbow millimeter radar installed above the head to control the weapons. It is used to control the Rockwell AGM-114 Hellfire anti-tank missiles. Technical data: Top speed: 300 km / h; climb speed 12.7 m / s, maximum range (without external tanks): 689 km, armament: 30mm Hughes M230A1 Chain Gun fixed-1 cannon, and outboard armaments - most often Hellfire missiles.

The AH-1 Cobra helicopter (Bell 209) is an attack helicopter in the classic layout, using many components of its "big brother" UH-1 Huey. The first flight of the AH-1 prototype took place on September 7, 1965 and the helicopter entered mass production in the same year. During the Vietnam War, 1,126 machines of the G model were produced, of which 279 were lost in combat. Due to the very high reliability of the structure, small side profile and good performance, the helicopter remains in service to this day in the US Marine Corps. The AH-1 allowed the US Army to fully implement the theoretical assumption of airmobile infantry ("air cavalry") through the fire support of landing infantry units. Today, the AH-1 Cobra is primarily used against an armored celon. From 1965, several versions of this successful helicopter were created, including: AH-1G (basic version), AH-1J (two-engine version), AH-1Q (version armed with TOW missiles). Technical data: Top speed: 333 km / h; maximum range (depending on version): 507-574km, armament: fixed-1 20mm M197 three-barrel cannon, slung rockets, guided missiles, unguided missiles and cannon pods.
This kit of the USMC AH-1Z Shark Mouth is the newest upgraded variant of the AH-1 attack helicopter used by USMC. With a 20mm rotary cannon, AGM-114, and AIM-9 missiles, as well as two types of rocket pods. The cockpit of this kit is accurately detailed with panel lines and rivets that appear as they do on the real thing. This kit comes with plastic parts to build one model, photo-etched parts and masks for the canopy.
This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

AH-1G Cobra ‘Over Vietnam with M-35 Gun System’ Hi-Tech Kit
The AH-1G Cobra was the world’s first helicopter primarily designed and developed for the ground attack role. Its first combat deployment took place in Vietnam in 1967. The initial batches differed from the later ones by having their tail rotor on the port side of the fin. The AH-1G became the first member of the quite wide family of attack helicopters of which the latest versions keep flying until these days. The AH-1G fought in the Vietnam war, saw service both in the USA and Western Europe, and were also exported to several other countries – the G version went to Spanish Navy and the Israeli Air Force.
The superb quality styrene parts of the AH-1G Cobra model now come with a large amount of resin detail parts, photo etches and 3D-printed items which all extensively raise the levels of detail of the original kit, both in the cockpit and on the outside of the airframe, making the model a real gem in your collection and deserving the Hi-Tech title. The kit also contains pre-cut inside/outside canopy masks. The decal sheet offers markings for four various schemes of Vietnam-based Cobras armed with the M-35 cannon system. All of these machines wear individual names, two of them also sport a shark mouth on their fuselage.
