New rubber lean bar tires, mounted on bearings, reduce noise and offer better traction on hard surfaces. Adjustable stops are included for up and down travel, so you can dial in the bike for any surface or grip level. The lean bars also often help with crash recovery when the rear tire has traction. If the bike is down on the track, simply hit the throttle to stand it upright and resume driving. PATENT-PENDING SPEKTRUM MS6X TECHNOLOGY The included Spektrum DX3PM transmitter and SR6300PM receiver combine with patent-pending MS6X technology for unprecedented control. Promoto-SM drivers can maintain balance at high or low speeds while maneuvering over concrete, asphalt, blacktop, and other hard surfaces. For more aggressive driving and extreme cornering angles, use the MS6X knob to increase the lean angle. “ON THE FLY” DRIVE MODES The DX3PM has three preprogrammed drive modes that you can toggle between “on the fly” using your thumb on the A/B rocker switch. Dirt Mode — Allows the Promoto-SM to pitch up enough without clipping the throttle for going up jump faces and obstacles, but helps prevent “wheelie-overs” by intuitively clipping the throttle output if the bike begins to pitch up too far. Street Mode — Senses when the Promoto-SM starts to pitch up and clips the throttle quickly, getting the front tire back on the ground to accelerate as much as possible. Wheelie Control — Let 'em rip! Wheelie Control lets you hold wheelies on smooth surfaces all the way to top speed. SMART TECHNOLOGY How much battery life is left on your bike? You don't have to guess. LED indicators on the DX3PM transmitter show you the remaining capacity of your Spektrum Smart batteries at glance! Using Spektrum Smart Technology, the Promoto-SM stores and shares critical performance data while you run. Smart technology also simplifies battery charging. When you connect a Smart battery to a Spektrum Smart charger, the battery's unique charging requirements upload automatically from its memory microchip through the IC connector's data wire to the Smart charger. Safe charging begins automatically! UPDATED BRAKE CALIPERS & PISTON Although the original Promoto-MX front brake system worked well, the design team thought that improvements could be made. An all-new caliper and floating piston were designed to apply a larger pressure area to the brake pad. Also, a new Metal Injection Molded (MIM) piston shaft is installed on the bearings for smoother operation and a better seal again dust and debris. All of this adds up to a shorter stopping distance and more consistent braking operation. FLYWHEEL UNIT The gyroscopic stabilization force created by its heavy steel flywheel — spinning at over 22,000 rpm with the 2700Kv motor — does wonders for the motorcycle's stability. Mounted as low and as far forward as possible in the frame, the flywheel unit enables the Promoto-SM to pivot around its center point to improve jumping, changes of direction, and the accuracy of the bike's performance. HEAD DAMPING With eight pounds rapidly powering down the track, it takes quite a stiff servo saver spring setup to properly guide the Promoto-SM into the next turn. Like anything heavily sprung, the best way to control the strong springs is to dampen the movement. A key development for the Promoto platform is a fluid-filled friction chamber between the upper and lower head tube bearings. The chamber is filled with heavy 500,000cSt which dampens the servo saver well and helps to control any possible "head shake.” SERVO SAVER The servo saver's stiff circular springs, captured by bearing-mounted composite plates, provide consistency in steering with enough give to protect the servo. But that's not all. It also drastically improves the bike's performance when setting down from wheelies, landing from jumps, power sliding through a turn, and pushing the front tire over a curb. It gives so the bike stays up. Requiring a special “shorty” battery would have made the design task simple, but the Promoto-SM product development team wanted to use a more convenient, standard size battery. Mission accomplished! A full-size 2S hardcase LiPo fits within the rider's seat, easy to access for quick battery changes. Pop in a charged pack and you're back in seconds to leading your competition. REALISTIC RIDER FIGURE The rider figures of other RC motorcycles are made entirely of foam, which quickly fails. Promoto riders have a rubberized plastic exterior that can give and flex under impacts and flips. To keep the rider from bobbling around on the bike, the torso has a foam insert. It keeps the body firm during normal operation but still able to give under impact. With its updated gear, the Promoto-SM rider looks ready for aggressive on-road racing action! PRO-LINE RACING OE (ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT) SUPERMOTO STREET TIRES The Promoto-SM is outfitted with new Pro-Line Racing OE (Original Equipment) Supermoto street tires. In addition to complementing the bike's scale looks, the Supermoto tires are designed specifically for the unique wear and traction requirements of supermoto-style road racing. DISPLAY/MAINTENANCE & STARTING STANDS Working on a real bike is easier with a proper bike stand. So the Promoto-SM had to have one, too! The included stand for maintenance and display is modeled after a real bike stand, complete with graphics. To keep the bike balanced on the stand, the Promoto-SM keys into the bike stand. But taking it a step further, a hands-free starting stand is also included. This starting stand cradles the rear tire and holds the bike upright and ready for a gate-style start. TRUE-SPOKE WHEELS Before Losi introduced the Promoto platform, no other manufacturers had been able to create proper-looking spoked wheels with the durability needed for an RC bike. It took the determination and expertise of the Losi product development team to make it happen. For the Promoto-SM, the realistic, true-spoke wheels are smaller, in keeping with the design of real on-road motorcycles. PLASTICS WITH GRAPHICS Big or small, no street bike would look right without a proper body panel kit wrapped in vinyl graphics. The Promoto-SM has all the goods — fenders, number plate, fork guards, front and rear side panels — all looking fresh wrapped in updated, highly durable vinyl graphics. REALISTIC DETAILS Even tiny touches matter, and Losi hasn't overlooked a thing — exhaust, brake line, foot pegs, brake rotors, you name it. The Promoto-SM also includes hand guards, recreating those used on full-size supermoto bikes to protect the brake and clutch levers during a fall. REAR FENDER Wheelies happen. A normal, rigid-mounted rear fender would really take a beating. But the Promoto-SM has the solution — a hinged elastomer sprung rear fender that can deflect out of the way during wheelies to expose a durable nylon rear bumper. It substantially increases the durability of the rear fender. FRONT CRASH STRUCTURE The front crash structure of the Promoto-SM is rigid during normal running, but compresses until the front tire bottoms into the chassis frame to absorb front impacts. That protects the front fork tubes from bending, keeping them safe and true. SKID PLATES & AIR VENTS Molded composite skid plates line the front and bottom of the Promoto-SM chassis. They offer protection during crashes and keep debris out of the chassis, helping to protect the electronics mounted inside. The air vents on each side of the bike come closed in the box, but can be opened to provide cooling airflow when ambient temperatures are high. TWIN ALUMINUM PLATE CHASSIS Twin aluminum chassis plates house and protect all of the bike's electronics and help to give the Promoto-SM its realistically narrow appearance. They also give the frame the rigidity and durability required for harsh impacts. FRONT FORK The front fork of the Promoto-SM is another Losi innovation with an internal spring and dampener. Designed to work similar to normal RC shocks, the front fork tubes can be rebuilt and tuned by changing the silicone dampening fluid. Using counter-wound upper and lower springs, spacers can be used to adjust the ride height of the Promoto-SM as well. And maybe most importantly, they look awesome — just like the real deal. RISING RATE REAR SUSPENSION Just like a real bike, the Promoto-SM has a rising rate rear suspension. The suspension starts soft around ride height, for smooth handling and a superior grip. It becomes firmer as it gets deeper into up travel, to provide proper preload on jumps and prevent bottoming out in landings. Dialed in with a full oil-filled coil-over shock, the Promoto-SM is ready to rip over any on-road surface. BRUSHLESS POWER SYSTEM The Promoto-SM comes out of the gates HOT with a powerful Spektrum Smart brushless power system. Its 4-pole 3652 3800Kv motor puts down the power while the 85A brushless ESC adds all the control you need. With massive 40+ mph top speeds on a 2S LiPo battery, the Promoto-SM power system rips! HEAD ANGLE After months of testing different trail settings, head angle, and steering ratios, the Promoto-SM product development team found the sweet spot. A head tube angle of 62.4 degrees gives it the best balance of bump handling, landing jumps, steering input, and “head shake” control on all surfaces. RACE-INSPIRED SLIPPER CLUTCH As its 3800Kv Spektrum Firma Brushless motor puts out abundant power, the Promoto-SM's race inspired dual disc slipper clutch helps the rear tire maintain traction on a variety of surfaces. The dual pad, spring pressurized slipper clutch takes inspiration from those that the TLR team uses to win races across the globe. It increases traction and protects the drivetrain without sacrificing explosive drive. FRONT CABLE-DRIVEN DISC BRAKE Hauling on your bike is a lot more fun when you've got good brakes. The motor can handle rear braking through the drivetrain, but like 1:1 motorcycles, most of the braking happens with the front tire. To slow the Promoto-SM down from the front, the front brake uses a steel rotor, caliper-actuated brake pads, and servo-driven cable. It cuts your stopping distance in half. REALISTIC CHAIN DRIVE We could not call the Promoto-SM a true street racing bike if wasn't chain driven. Steel links and 70 roller pins wrap around a 10-tooth steel drive sprocket and a 36-tooth aluminum hub sprocket. Regardless of conditions, the chain drive will drive the rear tire efficiently and reliably. The included brushless power system features the Spektrum 2300Kv Brushless Outrunner Marine Motor paired with a 100A Spektrum Brushless ESC. Together, they can produce 35+ mph of wake-inducing action. The motor also features an integrated weight on the outrunner, eliminating the need for a weighted coupler to provide self-righting capabilities. No more worries about a wipeout in the middle of the lake. With one press on the self-righting button of the included, custom-programmed Spektrum SLT3 radio transmitter, your deep-V will flip back upright. This design is unique to the Recoil 2 V2. You won't have to worry whether your voltage and amperage are set correctly. 100 Amp Spektrum™ Brushless ESC This lightweight ESC is designed with self-righting in mind, allowing for quick forward and reverse changes to flip the boat over after a wipeout. It's programmed to work with the SLT3 transmitter's automatic self-righting button. With a single press, your Recoil 2 V2 will flip back upright. If you'd rather self-right using manual control, you can do that, too. High Impact ABS Molded Self-Righting Hull and Canopy The ABS canopy attaches securely to the high-impact, self-righting hull using four thumb screws. An EVA foam seal around the canopy ensures that water is locked outside the hull. Pro Boat 5.3kg Waterproof Servo The high torque servo provides more than enough power to keep the Recoil 2 V2 pointed in the right direction. Waterproofing makes sure the servo is up to the task of being in a boat without the risking failure due to moisture. Aluminum Offset Rudder and Propeller Strut The aluminum rudder and propeller strut provide higher performance compared to composite or plastic. Hard anodizing ensures a long wear life. Flex Shaft-Driven Propeller The flex shaft allows for propeller angle adjustment, allowing the Recoil 2 V2 deep-V to run in most water conditions. Stainless Steel Hardware The included hardware is made of stainless steel to prevent rust. If replacements are needed, the metric screw sizes used are easy to find.
