The new vehicle meets the needs of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and Special Forces. The M1278 is a heavy machine gun mounted vehicle. It is the base model of the four-door general-purpose JLTV family. It is equipped with an armored M2 heavy machine gun weapon station on the roof.
