After nearly two and a half decades, Emirates unveiled a modernized version of its livery in 2023. This new edition of the Airbus A380 in the revised livery not only changed the registration, but also adapted the window configuration to the new designation and added markings for some of the sensors in the nose area.

On March 1, 2024, the first two of 29 Airbus A220 jet aircraft took off for their inaugural commercial flights. They are significantly more fuel efficient than the Boeing 717 they will replace. Not only is the state-of-the-art A220 almost 50 per cent quieter than its predecessor, but it also generates up to 25 per cent fewer carbon emissions. With almost double the range of the 717s, the A220 can fly between any two points in Australia and to several offshore destinations. Qantas called on fellow Australians to help name its fleet of new A220s, asking for the public to vote on names based around the theme “native wildlife”. Clearly a favorite among voters, the name of this adorable animal found its way onto the nose section of VH-X4B.

On 1 March 2024, the first of 29 A220s ordered by Australia's Qantas from Airbus took off on its first commercial flight, unveiling a very special livery. Balarinji, a leading Australian design agency for Australia's Indigenous peoples, had designed the extraordinary fuselage designs of all previous aircraft in Qantas' Flying Art Series, working with First Nations artists and their families. The latest work on QantasLink's state-of-the-art Airbus A220 continues this special artistic partnership. Born in 1952 in the remote community of Kanpi in South Australia, Maringka Baker began painting to tell her ancestors' stories of travel, women's ceremonial business, family relationships and traditional land. She is recognised as one of Australia's most successful artists and is a source of inspiration for a new generation of First Nations artists. This livery tells the story of two sisters who cross Australia together, travelling great distances to find their way home. The aircraft is named after the artwork: Minyma Kutjara Tjukurpa - The Creation Story of the Two Sisters. Herpa 614313 1/250 SNAP-FIT...
$69.99
The world's largest aircraft is now available as a Herpa SnapFit model in 1:250 scale. Powered by six Progress D18T turbofan engines, each with 230 kN thrust, the AN-225 made its maiden flight on December 21, 1988. "Mriya" ("Dream") was originally developed to support the Soviet space program, including transporting the "Buran" space shuttle. The aircraft was granted civil certification in 2001, and the first commercial flight took off from Stuttgart that same year. The Antonov AN-225 has set 240 world records, including the heaviest total cargo (five tanks with a total of 253.8 tons) and the heaviest individual part (a generator with 187.6 tons). The AN-225 is virtually self-sufficient, has a range of 15,000 km, requires no ground support and is equipped with a bow loading ramp, internal bridge cranes and cable winches. Operated by Ukraine's Antonov Airlines (the transportation division of ANTONOV Company), the AN-225 has proven its value and capabilities in relief operations following natural and environmental disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, as well as in supporting industrial and infrastructure projects around the world. As part of the Covid-19 pandemic relief effort, "Mriya" has been in continuous operation around the world, setting another world record in the process: the Antonov giant transported more than 1,000 cubic meters of cargo - the largest volume ever transported by air. In February 2022, the world's largest cargo aircraft was destroyed in a Russian attack in the war against Ukraine. Initial hopes of repairing the only aircraft of this type have probably evaporated given the extent of the damage.

Australia's national airline is the first in the Asia-Pacific region to operate the brand-new long-haul Airbus A321XLR. The new aircraft will gradually replace Qantas' Boeing 737 fleet over the next decade. Due to its fuel efficiency and additional fuel tanks, the A321XLR can fly approximately 3,000 km further than the 737, enabling more non-stop flights across the Australian continent and beyond. New international routes that were previously uneconomical due to the larger aircraft required are being explored, including connections between Perth on the west coast and India or Malaysia. Herpa's SnapFit models offer unbeatable value for money. They come with a display stand and are assembled in just a few steps without the need for glue or any other tools.
