$68.99
The LCM (Landing Craft Mechanized) was the most widely used type of tank-carrying landing craft in WWII and more than 8,500 were built in American yards between 1942 and 1945. As British had no tank-carrying craft lighter than LCT (Landing Craft Tank) s, LCMs were also readily adopted by Royal Navy. LCMs could be either carried on ship davits, or towed across the English Channel. Due to the danger of swamping in rough seas, most LCMs were towed across the Channel and not loaded with troops until the mornings of D-Day. LCMs could be readily identified by their unique perforated bow ramp. As tanks grew larger and heavier, the LCM (3) was developed with a longer hull and greater buoyancy, which allowed a 30-ton tank to be carried. They could also handle up to 30 tons of cargo or 60 troops. LCM (3) had a crew of 4 men and was armed with two 50-caliber machine guns. The LCM was not designed for the crew to live aboard and it remained dependent upon a parent ship over long periods of time. The most important role played by LCMs on D-Day was transporting the engineer teams assigned to demolish the beach obstacles.

Trumpeter 00902 1/16 T-34/85 model 1944 Fty.183
The T-34/85 Soviet Red Army Tank was considered by many as, "The best tank of World War 2". It was fast, easy to maneuver and hard-hitting. Appearing in huge numbers from early 1944, it led the assault on Germany until the end of the war.
When it was widely exported to many communist nations. The major change in T-34 production after 1943 was the arrival of the 85mm (3.34in) gun T-34/85. It had a new three-man turret and a larger-diameter turret ring. Both the T-34/76 and /85 were built in parallel until mid-1944, when production of the former stopped after 35,099 had been completed.
The huge losses of T-34s in 1941 and 1943 were due respectively to the speed and surprise of the German advance (Blitzkrieg) and the development of new German heavy tanks, such as the Tiger and Panther. The Panther, in particular, was designed with sloped armour modeled after the T-34 and. with a long-barrelled 75mm (2.95in) gun that matched the Soviet 76.2mm (3in) gun.
Although similar in appearance and using the same automotive components, the T-34/85 was a major redesign, with a new three-man turret, the same as that used on the KV-85. The new gun was the D-5T85 (later replaced by the ZIS-S53) dual-purpose 85mm (3.34in) gun, which could fire shells able to penetrate102mm (4in) of armour at 1000m (3280ft). This was enough to defeat a Panther or Tiger at closer range.
The T-34/85 was rolling off the production lines in January 1944, only five months after the design was initiated. That year over 11,000 were produced and these played the major role in pushing the Germans back into Germany in late 1944.
The T-34/85 remained the principal Soviet tank until the late 1940s and was produced for Third Party Nations well into the 1960s.
This kit depicts the T-34/85 Model 1944 with “flattened” turret, later style one piece commander’s hatch, and non-pierced rubber-rimmed road wheel.

The Douglas SBD "Dauntless" dive bomber is the backbone of the Pacific Fleet's naval aviation. It has the lowest loss rate among U.S. aircraft carrier-based aircraft. Between 1940 and July 1944, Douglas produced a total of 5,936 SBD Dauntless and Army A-24s. The SBD "Dauntless" dive bomber has a unique flap system called "Swiss cheese". The dive speed brake is covered with 3-inch diameter openings, which allows the aircraft to accurately rush to the target. Recovery from vertical dive. In addition to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Army Aviation, the SBD Dauntless dive bomber is also in service in countries such as New Zealand and Mexico. The first recorded enemy ship sunk by the U.S. Navy in World War II was caused by an SBD Dauntless dive bomber taking off from the USS Enterprise. And in subsequent battles, 18 enemy ships were sunk, including one battleship and six aircraft carriers. SBD-1 and SBD-2 are equipped with two 7.62 mm machine guns in the engine hood of the aircraft, and 1-2 machine guns in the rear seat for defense.

The Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber became a mainstay of the Navy's air fleet in the Pacific, with the lowest loss ratio of any U.S. carrier-based aircraft. Douglas delivered a total of 5,936 SBD/A-24s between 1940 and the end of production in July 1944. The SBD Dauntless featured "Swiss cheese" flaps — dive brakes punched with 3-inch holes — so that it could achieve pinpoint accuracy by diving to the target, dropping the bomb and then pulling out of the near-vertical dive. In addition to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Army Air Forces, the Dauntless served forces in New Zealand and Mexico. The first enemy ship sunk by the U.S. Navy in World II is credited to a Dauntless from the USS Enterprise.
The diving Dauntless went on to destroy 18 enemy warships, including a battleship and six carriers. The SBD-5 which was built at a new Douglas plant set up at Tulsa; this version had a 1,200 hp R-1820-60 engine and 2,409 were built for the Navy. Finally, Tulsa produced 451 SBD-6s with 1,350 hp R-1820-66 engines.

The Lightning was the only British designed and built fighter capable of speeds in excess of Mach 2 to serve with the Royal Air Force. There is no doubt that the Lightning will go down in the history books as another classic British fighter. Supermarine Spitfire is probably the most famous British fighter from the Second World War. It was an all-metal machine with a low wing configuration, characteristic elliptical wings, a classic tail and a retractable landing gear. The prototype flight took place on March 5, 1936. The Spitfire proved to be the RAF's staple of the war, which continued to do well after the war, remaining in production for 10 years. The history of the Spitfire began on the drawing desk of RJ Mitchell, Supermarine's lead designer.
The first machines went to RAF units in 1938, but when the Battle of Britain began in the summer of 1940, there were already 19 squadrons of modern fighters at the airfields - together with the slightly older Hurricanes of the Islands, 600 aircraft were defending. With the expansion of hostilities, the Spitfire served wherever the RAF operated in the Far East, North Africa and Italy, during the Normandy landings and fighting in France, and finally during the operation in Germany in 1945. For many Britons, he became a symbol of victory in World War II. This wonderful machine has at least a dozen production versions.
The most important of them are, among others the first mass-produced Spitfire Mk.I powered by a 1030hp Rolls-Royce Merlin II engine. It was above all this machine that made such an excellent contribution to the Battle of Britain. Many versions of this model have been developed, including PR Mk IA (reconnaissance version) or PR.IG (armed reconnaissance version). Another interesting version was the Spitfire Mk.V with a Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 engine with 1440HP. Later, Merlin 50 engines were also assembled. Serial production of this version started in 1941 and was the RAF's response to the appearance of the Messerschmitt Bf-109F.
Another very successful version is the Spitfire Mk.IX, powered by a Merlin 61 engine with a 4-blade propeller. It was created as an opponent to the Focke-Wulf Fw-190 and was put into production at the end of 1941. This version was modified many times and, for example, in 1944 it got a new gyro sight, an enlarged rudder or a different wing system. Another major version is the Spitfire Mk.XIV with a Rolls-Royce Griffon 61 engine and a five-bladed propeller. Serial production started in October 1943. One of the last series produced was the Mk.21 version. This version had a Griffon 61 engine, a strongly reinforced structure and sheathing, the wings were extended, increasing their flying surface. Mass production started in March 1945.

The Supermarine Spiteful was a British Rolls-Royce Griffon-engined fighter aircraft. In late 1942, Supermarine designers feared the drag characteristics of the Spitfire's wing at high Mach numbers (nearing the speed of sound) might become a limiting factor in increasing the aircraft's high-speed performance. To overcome this, it was decided to produce a new laminar-flow wing, much like that already used on the North American P-51 Mustang, Another change, to improve the ground-handling, was replacing the Spitfire's narrow-track, outward-retracting undercarriage with a wider-track, inward-retracting system. as it was now substantially different from a Spitfire, the aircraft was named Spiteful.

EA-18G Growler is the F/A-18F electronic warfare model. The Growler has the same flight performance as the F/A-18E / F. This feature is similar to the "growler" than the traditional electronic warfare aircraft to better perform electronic suppression tasks. Growler can accompany the F / A-18 fighters throughout the mission.
With over 90% versatility and the same fuselage, the EA-18G Growler and the standard F / A-18F Super Hornet fuselage are equipped with the same fuselage, and Racy's AN / APG-79 Active Phase Control Array radar and weapon systems, and AN / AYK-22 weapon management systems. Most of the electronic warfare equipment such as electronic jamming was installed in the space where the nose was originally used to mount the 20mm cannon and the wingtip nacelle. Nine weapons plug-in points are free to choose to mount attack weapons or electronic jamming pods. Electronic warfare devices with increased wingtips include the AN / ALQ-218 wideband receiver and the ALQ-99 high and low frequency interference pods. The ALQ-218 and ALQ-99 cover the complete spectrum. Enable EW officers to detect and fight against all known threats to ground-air.
The EA-18G's typical mission mode is capable of mounting up to five ALQ-99 electronic pods and two AIM-120 air-to-air missiles for self-defense and two AGM-88 Hamm high-speed anti-radiation missiles.
