Wehrmacht was the name used by the German army during the war on all European and North African fronts for almost 6 years, from 1939 to 1945. On September 1st, 1939, two Wehrmacht army groups invaded Poland, thus starting World War II. The Black Hawk is the U.S. Army’s front-line utility helicopter used for air assault, air cavalry and aeromedicals evacuation units. It is designed to carry 11 combat-loaded air assault troops and it is capable of moving a 105 mm. Howitzer and 30 rounds of ammunition. First deployed in 1978, the Black Hawk’s advanced technology makes it easy to maintain in the field. The Black Hawk has performed admirably in a variety of missions, including air assault, air cavalry and aeromedicals evacuations, including Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. In addition, modified Black Hawks operate as special operations platforms.

The Kfir is an all-weather multirole combat aircraft produced by the Israel Aircraft Industries. It was mainly based on the French Dassault Mirage III / 5 airframe, but it adopted several improvements as the Israeli-built version of the powerful and reliable General Electric J79 turbojet engine or a complete new set of avionic equipment. Kfir programme has been originated to develop a more effective version of the IAI Nesher. The Kfir entered in service in 1975 and was assigned to fighter squadrons. During the time, some updated versions came out as the Kfir C7 charcterised by a powerful engine, better avionics and inflight refuelling capability. However, with the introduction of the new F-15, the reliable and robust Kfir changed its main role and it was used to perform strike missions. The A-6 Intruder entered service in the mid-60s as ground attack carrier based aircraft to replace the outdated planes as the propeller-driven A-1 Skyraider and the A-3 Skywarrior. The Grumman Corporation developed and designed the A-6A, based on U.S. Navy specifications, a twin jet-engine all-weather medium attack aircraft able to operate from the American aircraft carriers. The so called “Intruder” was characterized by a sturdy and robust fuselage and for the two seats side by side cabin configuration for the pilot and the weapons officer. The A-6E was the definitive attack version of the "Intruder" improved in avionics and attack systems, in particular in the version named TRAM, from the acronym of the laser target designation system, that allowed to be more effective to perform “all weather” missions and to be more lethal in detection and suppression of enemy targets. The JU-87 dive bomber is certainly one of the most famous airplanes of World War II. This characteristic “inverted gull wing” aircraft became famous at the early stage of the war and it can be considered, together with the Wehrmacht Panzer Division, the symbol of the “Blitzkrieg”. The Italian Regia Aeronautica requested to the German ally, before the beginning of the war, a specific supply of one hundred “Stuka” to equip its ground attack and dive bombing Squadrons. The first Ju-87B units arrived in the summer of 1940 and went to equip the 96º Gruppo Bombardamento a Tuffo. The Ju-87, either in the B2 version or in the extender range R2 version, equipped other “Gruppi di Volo” for a total of 150 planes. The Italian “Stuka”, nicknamed “Picchiatello”, was used by Regia Aeronautica over Malta, in North Africa, in the Balkans and in the Mediterranean Theatre. The AH-64 Apache can be considered the most famous attack helicopter in history. It was designed to operate on the front line and to perform anti-tank, anti-helicopter, assault and close support missions in “all weather” conditions and in any operating environments. The AH-64D Longbow is the upgraded version with and increased offensive capability and the adoption of advanced target acquisition systems. The B-52 Stratofortress is the most famous long range jet-powered strategic bomber in the aviation history. The Short Sunderland was one of the most famous seaplanes of World War II. It’s came into service at the end of 1938 to equip the Royal Air Force squadrons of Coastal Command. The innovative Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey project was initiated during the 1980s, but only emerged into production and was deployed to various arms of the US armed forces, after enduring a long and complex developmental process which lasted for over twenty years.
