$66.95
The JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) program was established to develop a new fifth-generation, all-weather, multi-role fighter capable of serving as a viable replacement for ground attack aircraft of the United States and NATO countries. From this project emerged the single-seat Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Equipped with extraordinary technology, it is characterized by the adoption of an aerodynamic layout, featuring stealth capabilities and a trapezoidal wing design.Designed to perform missions of air superiority, close air support, and ground attack, its airframe can be configured in various setups. The F-35A operates from conventional runways, the F-35B is designed for vertical take-off and landing, and the F-35C is ideal for deployment from conventional aircraft carriers. More specifically, the F-35C is distinguished by its folding wingtips to optimize onboard storage operations, a rear arrestor hook, and a reinforced frontal gear suitable for catapult launch systems on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers.

The Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet is a modern twin-engine, carrier-capable, single-seat fighter directly derived from the original design of the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. Larger and heavier than its predecessor, it is characterized by significantly improved flight and combat performance. Noticeable evolutionary design changes can best be seen in the revised wing-shape which is able to ensure maximum performance, particularly in terms of maneuverability. Additional design improvements can also be seen in the newer intake ramps for the engines, and also in the enhanced tail design. The aircraft originally entered service with the United States Navy in the early 2000’s to replace the F-14 Tomcat, with the primary role of fleet air defense. Deployed with an increased mission range and the adoption of improved avionic systems, it is one of the more effective carrier-based fighters. It is armed with a 20mm M61 internal gun and can carry air-to-air missiles mounted on its under-wing hard points. The two-seater F / A-18F Super Hornet was designed and developed from its earlier single-seat version. The aircraft demonstrated a high level of operational flexibility including fleet air defense, ground attack, close support and interdiction roles.

Introduced to the market in 1988, the Volvo F16 achieved considerable commercial success largely due to its innovative “powertrain” line which was able to achieve a high level of driving performance, low fuel consumption and low running and maintenance costs. The exceptional features of its 6-cylinder engine were complemented by the innovative "Globetrotter" cab which provided exceptional on board comfort. The sturdy frame served as a developmental platform for the creation of numerous specially outfitted versions to meet a wide range of differing customer requirements. One configuration that was particularly appreciated and used by long and medium-range logistics operators was the canvass rear deck. This feature was characterised by good size/space ratios and further enhanced by the rear hydraulic platform which facilitated easy loading and unloading of goods.

The twin-engine Douglas DC-3 was definitely one of the most famous transport aircraft of aviation history thanks to its reliability, flexibility and service life. During the Second World War it was developed a version dedicated to military duties: the Douglas C-47 Skytrain. Produced in large numbers by American production plants, was used extensively by the Allies on all fronts. In particular, the C-47s received by British Royal Air Force and Commonwealth Air Forces took the name “Dakota” and they were used for logistic, tactical transports, launch of paratroopers and medical evacuation. Thanks to its two Pratt & Whitney 1,200 HP engines the “Dakota” was able to reach a top speed of 360 Km/h. It had a pay-load of 2,500 Kg or a capacity of 28 troops.

On 12th July 1924 in Arpajon, the Mefistofele, was able to reach, driven by its pilot and designer Ernest Eldrige, the amazing speed, for the time, of 146,01 miles per hour (over 230 Km/h) and broke the World Land Speed Record achieving an impressive result. The Mefistofele, was characterized by the high back bodywork able to contain the powerful Fiat A-12 liquid-cooled engine and for its structure especially made to achieve the speed record.

The innovative Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey project was initiated during the 1980s, but only emerged into production and was deployed to various arms of the US armed forces, after enduring a long and complex developmental process which lasted for over twenty years. The Osprey is a tilt rotor, equipped with two tilting engines which have large three-blade propellers attached that make it able to land and take-off vertically like a helicopter, and also possessing flight and transfer performance similar to that of a conventional propeller plane. Thanks to its two powerful 6,150 HP Rolls-Royce T406-AD-400 engines it can exceed 500 km / h in horizontal flight. The United States Marine Corps is the principal user of the aircraft, exploiting its tactical versatility and the transport capability of the V-22 in particular, for operational support during troop landings. The Osprey undertook its first operational missions in Iraq in 2008.

The European truck manufacturers carry only very few conventional (long-hood) trucks in their roster because of legal length limitations for tractor-trailer units. The new conventional, built by Scania, is therefore mainly used for extra-heavy tasks and construction work. Due to the fact that the engine is mounted in front ot the driver's cabin, the T-143 features a spacious driving compartment and has a lower noise level than the «R» type. Engine and cockpit are identical to the Streamline version. In Australia this version is used succesfully for the so called Road Trains, which carry up to three trailers with an overall length of 43 m. The extended wheel base (4,2 m) improves the truck's dnving comfort.

Following its operational successes during WW1, the Italian “Regia Marina” continued with further post- war developments into various underwater and surface assault vehicles. The Motoscafo da Turismo Modificato (M.T.M.) for example, was designed to ensure a covert and rapid approach to targets with a low risk of detection from enemy forces. Closing in on the target, the pilot then adjusted the rudder to maintain direction and propelled the fast small boat on a collision course to the target. The pilot, positioned at the stern, jumped from the craft at a safe distance before the collision. The high explosive charge positioned in the bow of the Barchino detonated upon impact against the target. The most successful deployment of the ‘Barchino’ by the Italian Regio Marina, was the assault led by Luigi Faggioni on the Royal Navy heavy cruiser HMS York at Suda Bay, Crete in 1941.

The Scania R143M was assembled at the Södertälje production site in Sweden and was one of the most successful models of the "series 3", first introduced by Scania in 1987 and following on from the innovative "series 2" of the 1980s. Powerful and reliable thanks to its 500 horsepower V-8 engine, it was designed with the most advanced technologies of the time. Great attention was paid to its design to reduce aerodynamic resistance and minimize fuel consumption, an important factor for success in using heavy transport over long distances. Scania's tractor unit, with its two-wheel drive configuration, was also acclaimed for its ease of maintenance and low operating and management costs.
