Final version of the glorious Countach, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Lamborghini, boasts numerous improvements, were in fact changed about 3,000 of the 8,000 pieces that make up the car. Much of the aesthetic innovations derived from the prototype Countach Evoluzione in 1986, the first supercar in the world made of carbon fiber. The North American P-51 Mustang is considered one of the most iconic aircraft in the history of the U.S.A.F. and widely credited as perhaps the best single-seat piston engine fighter of World War II. Among the earlier production versions, the P-51A was limited in its operational deployment to just 1942. Its new Allison V-1710 engine was very powerful and capable of attaining a maximum speed of 650 km / h. It was armed with four wing-fitted 12.7 mm Browning machine guns which provided considerable firepower. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is undoubtedly one of the best-known fighters of the Second World War and is considered an iconic aircraft of the German Luftwaffe. During the conflict the engines and armaments were regularly upgraded to be kept in line with the emerging, more modern enemy fighters. The Bf 109 K-4 “Kurfürst”, introduced at the end of 1944 and substantially derived from the G model, was the last version produced of this famous German fighter. The F-22 Raptor represents the new air superiority fighter presently under construction for the U.S. Air Force. It will eventually substitute the F-15 Eagles which have been in service since the late seventies. In 1980, during the Geneva Motor Show, the German car manufacturer from Ingolstadt presented its new two-door coupé, the Audi Quattro. Produced throughout the 1980s, its Italian name highlights its main feature: four-wheel drive. At the time, four-wheel drive on a vehicle aimed at generating high sales figures was indeed an important innovation. The “Quattro” guaranteed good performance combined with excellent road holding on any type of surface. The longitudinal front engine was capable of delivering appreciable performance. The Dassault Mirage III represents a landmark in French aerospace production. Produced from the early 1960s to equip units of the Armée de l'Air, it proved to be extremely effective right from the start. It quickly became a commercial success and was exported to numerous countries, participating in various conflicts during the 1970s and 1980s. Characterized by its distinctive delta wing, it was capable, thanks to its Snecma Atar engine with afterburner, of exceeding Mach 2 speeds. Following the Mirage IIIC, designed for the interceptor role, a multirole and ground-attack version was developed. This led to the Mirage IIIE, characterized aerodynamically by a lengthening of the fuselage to accommodate improved avionics. The 313th Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico of the Italian Air Force, better known as Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale "Frecce Tricolori”, is based at the airport of Rivolto, in the northern part of Italy. The 313th was officially born in 1961 as a very professional and highly specialized acrobatic unit with the purpose to represent, all over the World, the Italian Air Force. At the beginning the team has been equipped with the Canadair CL-13 "Sabre" and, after few years it has been replaced by the glorious Fiat G-91 PAN. Today the “Frecce Tricolori” flies the two-seat fighter-trainer Aermacchi MB 339 A and it is the biggest team , with more than 10 airplanes. In 2021 the P.A.N. foundation welcomed its 60th anniversary during which the “339” were displayed with commemorative liveries that celebrated the legendary acrobatic patrols of the Stormi in the 1950s. Following its operational successes during WW1, the Italian “Regia Marina” continued with further post- war developments into various underwater and surface assault vehicles. The Motoscafo da Turismo Modificato (M.T.M.) for example, was designed to ensure a covert and rapid approach to targets with a low risk of detection from enemy forces. Closing in on the target, the pilot then adjusted the rudder to maintain direction and propelled the fast small boat on a collision course to the target. The pilot, positioned at the stern, jumped from the craft at a safe distance before the collision. The high explosive charge positioned in the bow of the Barchino detonated upon impact against the target. The most successful deployment of the ‘Barchino’ by the Italian Regio Marina, was the assault led by Luigi Faggioni on the Royal Navy heavy cruiser HMS York at Suda Bay, Crete in 1941. The H-21 Shawnee helicopter is best known for its nickname "the flying banana", which derives from the peculiar upward angle of the aft fuselage. The fuselage, uniquely designed in this novel way, was developed to accommodate the two powerful tandem rotors and the oversized propellers. As a result of the two rotors and the strong aerodynamic structure, the H-21 became an effective and reliable “workhorse”, able to successfully perform the most demanding transport tasks in a multitude of environments. Widely used by the U.S. Army since the early ‘50s, it was also deployed during the Vietnam war to transport troops and tactical supplies from 1961 onwards. The helicopter proved to be robust and reliable, even during ground support missions where the ‘Gunship’ version was armed with cannons under the nose or through the side doors. It was also used by French troops in Algeria, with an MG 151 cannon fitted on the right door and a .30 calibre weapon on the left. The Messerschmitt Me 410 Hornisse was a low-wing twin-engine heavy fighter developed by the famous German aircraft manufacturer as an evolution of the previous Me-210. The heavy fighter was intended to replace the outdated Bf-110s in the Luftwaffe Squadrons. Powered by two 1,750 HP Daimler-Benz DB603 engines, it could be used to carry out several operational roles. Heavily armed with four 20mm Mauser cannons and with two 7.92mm machine guns installed in the front of the aircraft, it also featured two remotely controlled MG 131 machine guns housed in side "barbettes" on the fuselage. The initial versions for tactical support and bombing missions could carry an offensive payload of over 500 kg in the internal bomb bay or underwing pylons.
