Mini Coopers have been automotive fan favorite machines for decades! This 1/10 scale radio control model kit recreates the version of the Mini Cooper built by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) as it existed between 1959 until the year 2000. Original Minis were built for four decades without model changes. It had a front-wheel drive layout which was rare at that time, and it featured compact mechanics and maximum interior space. With its design featuring the necessary bare minimum features, it helped contribute to this car’s iconic status. The recreated R/C version comes on the MB-01 chassis in the short wheelbase and front motor / front wheel drive (FF) configuration layout.
A small but great car that will go down in automotive history, with a cute body that's pre-painted and fun to drive
The first-generation Mini, which was produced from 1959 to 2000 without any model changes, with approximately 5.3 million units produced, was selected as the second-best "Car of the Century," representing the 20th century. It was an innovative car that adopted front-wheel drive, which was rare at the time, and achieved an excellent body structure that maximized interior space with a small mechanism, as well as light and agile driving performance. In 1961, the sports type Mini Cooper was added to the lineup. It was very successful in races and rallies and gained popularity not only in its home country of the UK but also in Japan and around the world. This is an assembly kit for an electric RC car that reproduces the Mini Cooper, full of the mood of driving. The polycarbonate body is pre-painted with the main body in blue and the roof in white. The wheel arches have been cut and the holes for the body catches have been drilled. In addition, the stripes on the bonnet, the pinstripes on the side of the body, and the racing number are provided as stickers. Featuring classic 8-spoke wheels and 60D radial tires, this is a fun car to drive on the RC circuit.
MB-01 Chassis
The compact, 2WD MB-01 chassis gives a choice of three types of wheelbases, and a front- or rear- wheel drive system. Without removing battery pack, motor, and R/C equipment setups from the center frame, simply change attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage to switch between front- and rear-wheel drive; low or high motor position can be chosen for rear-wheel drive cars. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Unitized sections such as motor mount, final gears and suspension facilitate ease of assembly and effective maintenance.
