Locomotive 21C1 'Channel Packet' was the first of the Merchant Navy class, entering service in 1941 at Salisbury and then Exmouth Junction from 1942. Renumbered '35001' under British Railways in 1948, 'Channel Packet' was allocated to Stewarts Lane from 1957 until rebuilding in 1959. This O gauge starter track set contains track sections to allow a number of alternative end-to-end track formations which can be accommodated on a shelf. The thinking behind this is that as space will be at a premium a shelf-type layout can most easily be established to test O gauge locomotives and provide the modeller with a range of shunting challenges. The track supplied will easily assemble an 'Inglenook' 3 siding shunting puzzle layout (as in the illustration), or can be used for a simple end-to-end shuttle layout with a number of suggestions shown on the packaging. The track sections use Peco O gauge bullhead rail and can easily be extended using more ST-700 straights and ST-725 curves, or using the SL-700BH streamline track (use SL-10 rail joiners). When making longer plain-track extensions you will find the 1 yard length Streamline track is a more economical purchase. Departing from our normal format, this new starter set comprises components that will give the modeller alternative end-to-end track formations. The thinking behind this is that as space will be at a premium a shelf-type layout that can be quickly established will be of great benefit to modelers who just want to test out their newest O gauge locomotive acquisition. The D51 steam locomotive was manufactured mainly as a freight locomotive between 1936 and 1945, with 1,115 units manufactured, making it the largest number of JNR locomotives manufactured. It was used throughout the country and was also affectionately known as "Degoichi". It was used not only for freight trains but also for towing passenger trains and mixed trains. Of the 77 Saint Class members built by GWR between 1902 and 1913, 2920 ‘Saint David’ was one of the 47 that survived beyond nationalisation of Britain’s railways in 1948. Part of the third batch of 20 to be built in 1907, the locomotive was new to Cardiff Canton shed. It underwent several changes during its career, including the fitting of a superheated boiler in 1909 and outside steam pipes in December 1932. This model is presented in BR livery, the condition in which it operated through to its withdrawal in October 1953, by which point it was one of the last four still in service. This model was developed with the helpful guidance from the Didcot Railway Center who kindly gave us access to their archive of drawings and access to the Lady of Legend locomotive. The N700S Shinkansen is a vehicle developed as a standard vehicle for the next-generation Shinkansen of JR Central, and started operation between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in July 2020. It is called "Supreme" which means the best Shinkansen train in the N700 series, and it will be the first full model change vehicle in 13 years for the Tokaido Shinkansen. Compared to the latest model N700A, the stability, safety, comfort, and convenience have been further improved, the braking distance in the event of an earthquake has been shortened, measures to prevent snow accretion have been strengthened, and the battery itself in the event of an abnormality. The latest technology is incorporated, including the installation of a driving system and a fully active vibration control device.
