Ratio Lineside Kits OO/HO Goods Yard Weighbridge One of the fundamental aspects of safety on the railway was that wagons should never be overloaded. To do so would risk trains not having sufficient braking capacity to slow and stop safely. To manage loading at many industrial locations, each wagon would pass over a Weighbridge - to check their weight. Each wagon would display its tare weight, which could be deducted from the total weight, to ascertain the net weight of the load - simple mathematics! The new Ratio kit is a great representation of a typical Weighbridge, not dissimilar to the one, once located at Shildon Wagon Works in the North East. Combining a mixture of materials, the plastic parts make up the hut and laser-cut wood parts form the actual weighing scales, which fit in and around a length of ST-201 PECO Setrack track, included in the kit.  Another useful addition to the extensive range of Ratio OO/HO scale railway structure kits.

Based on the Lynton & Barnstaple box van, this admittedly fictitious livery will nevertheless chime well with fans of the Ffestiniog Railway and the wider OO-9 community. Based in Porthmadog, centre of the universe as far as Welsh narrow gauge enthusiasts are concerned, beer from the Purple Moose Brewery is popular with many visitors to the area. FR Short 'Bowsider' Bogie Coach - Early Preservation - Green 17 The four coaches in this group of vehicles were known as the 'Bowsiders' because of the shape of their sides, and were supplied by two builders in 1876 and 1879. Numbers 17 and 18 are the shorter coaches, delivered in 1876, and the two long coaches, numbers 19 and 20, arrived three years later in 1879. All four are in service on the Ffestiniog Railway today. Our new models capture the subtle style of these coaches, with the 'bow' towards the bottom of the sides. The models feature very fine print detail too, including the Ffestiniog Railway company emblem. The livery is green with a cream trim around the upper half of the coach, and contrasting maroon end panels. No. 17 wears this livery today. Concrete sleeper track has been in use on the railways of Britain since around 1940, usually combined with wooden sleeper turnouts and crossings, and this track is a faithful representation of this design.If you wish to mix wheel standards on your 00/H0 layout, this is the trackage to choose.
