Obi-Wan Kenobi is known for not actually liking flying – but when he's in the cockpit of this Eta-2 starfighter, he's one of the best pilots in the galaxy. This model captures that exact feeling. You'll be building the very aircraft seen above Coruscant in the dramatic opening scenes of "Revenge of the Sith".
Thanks to the manageable number of parts, assembly is pleasant and motivating. The included paints allow you to give the hull the characteristic dark red paint job that distinguishes Obi-Wan's fighter from Anakin's yellow model. It's a compact project that gives you the satisfaction of having created an iconic spaceship with your own hands.
Background information
Like his apprentice Anakin, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi also relied on the Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor. This ship represents the technological pinnacle of the Republic era: it is smaller, lighter, and significantly more maneuverable than its predecessors. To achieve this performance, heavy shields and an internal hyperdrive were omitted, making the pilot almost entirely dependent on the Force and the support of his astromech droid. The R4-P17 shown here (recognizable by its red dome) was Obi-Wan's faithful companion on many missions, until that fateful mission over Coruscant.
