This 1/35 scale kit from Foreart represents the M727 tracked guided missile carrier, a vehicle associated with the MIM-23 HAWK air defence system. Designed to provide mobile support for missile batteries, the M727 shares its chassis with the widely used M113 armoured vehicle. As part of the 1/35 vehicle range, it offers a detailed subject for modern military modelling.
The model captures the characteristic shape of the M727, including its boxy armoured hull and tracked suspension system. The design reflects its role as a support and transport vehicle within a larger missile defence network, with external features that distinguish it from standard troop carriers. The scale provides sufficient surface detail for painting and weathering, making it suitable for a variety of operational settings.
This kit provides a solid base for representing a specialised military vehicle, particularly within diorama scenes featuring air defence units. Its layout and design make it a recognisable variation of the M113 platform, offering a slightly different subject compared to more commonly modelled armoured vehicles.
Features
- 1/35 scale plastic model kit of M727 missile carrier
- Based on M113 tracked vehicle chassis
- Represents support vehicle for MIM-23 HAWK system
- Detailed hull and suspension components
- Suitable for modern military vehicle modelling
The M727 was developed as part of the MIM-23 HAWK surface-to-air missile system, which entered service during the Cold War. The HAWK system was designed to provide medium-range air defence against aircraft and later adapted to counter additional threats. Vehicles such as the M727 were used to transport equipment and support missile operations, ensuring mobility and deployment flexibility. Based on the reliable M113 platform, the M727 benefited from proven design and widespread use. This model reflects that role, offering a representation of a key support vehicle within modern air defence systems.
