The E-flite® P-51D Mustang 1.5m was highly rated and reviewed as one of the best flying, most detailed, easiest to assemble, store, and transport P-51 models ever! Now it’s back with the iconic Big Beautiful Doll trim scheme and softer tires, along with enhanced AS3X+, optional-use SAFE Select and Smart Transmitter File technologies in the BNF Basic version.
The Truman Senate War Investigating Committee called the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang “the most aerodynamically perfect pursuit plane in existence.” During WWII, it blasted trains, ships, and enemy installations throughout Western Europe. The “D” variant, outfitted with its legendary Merlin engine, gave the U.S. Army Air Forces a high-altitude, long-range fighter capable of escorting heavy bomber formations the entire way to Berlin and back. The original E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.5m also went the distance to reproduce the famous fighter with exceptional detail, handling, performance, and presence. Now it's available again with the unique and iconic Big Beautiful Doll trim scheme Colonel John Landers made famous while scoring a total of 14.5 victories in WWII, including 4.5 in the P-51. It also features softer main tires and is still packed with all the same Extra Scale details and functional features, including LED navigation lights, sequenced main and tailwheel gear doors, flaps, and much more. Both versions are equipped with the proven and reliable 6S-compatible motor, plus a Spektrum Avian 100A Smart ESC. The BNF Basic version also features an AR637TA+ receiver that delivers real-time telemetry data along with enhanced AS3X+, SAFE Select, and Smart Transmitter File technologies to provide an unmatched Mustang flying experience.
The P-51D Mustang 1.5m is the largest, most detailed, and best performing replica of the legendary fighter from E-flite yet! Along with an accurate outline, it also features an abundance of Extra Scale details, including molded-in panel lines and hatches, guns and removable drop tanks, plus a stunning Big Beautiful Doll trim scheme. Functional Extra Scale features include LED navigation lights, sequenced main and tailwheel gear doors, flaps, and more. Reliable electric retracts operate the tailwheel and the main gear equipped with shock-absorbing struts featuring ball-bearing equipped wheels that now include softer diamond tread tires to make it possible to fly from a variety of surfaces including pavement and grass. At the heart of it all is the proven and reliable factory-installed brushless motor that's compatible with 6S LiPo power - simply drop in a 6S 3200-7000mAh battery to achieve level flight speeds in excess of 80+ MPH and unlimited vertical for better than scale performance! Both versions include a 100-amp Spektrum Avian Smart ESC, and the BNF Basic version is also equipped with an AR637TA+ receiver that offers full-range telemetry including real-time battery voltage, current, temperature, and more to compatible transmitters – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – plus the advantages of enhanced AS3X+ and optional-use SAFE Select technologies to make this one of the easiest to fly large-scale P-51 models ever. The unique 3-piece wing design makes transport and storage as convenient as possible because the center section includes the main gear, and the outer panels simply snap into place securely without requiring fasteners or tools. It's also quick and easy to assemble because the factory-finished EPO airframe bolts together in less time than it takes to charge a battery. And it all adds up to deliver a warbird flying experience unlike any other with the mightiest Mustang yet!

Skill Level 3 – Intermediate Pilots (Experience Required)
Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up and fly similar class models. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly models like the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.0m, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, the 1.2m to 1.5m warbirds, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the P-51D Mustang 1.5m BNF Basic version.
Bind-N-Fly® Completion Level Advantage
Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!
Exclusive Technologies
The BNF Basic version P-51D Mustang 1.5m is equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR637TA+ receiver that features exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. Enhanced AS3X+ works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch! If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver normally, and only AS3X+ will be active.
Smart Transmitter File
This BNF aircraft is equipped with a receiver that is loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) that makes programming your transmitter as easy as a few clicks of a button. When you bind your transmitter to an STF-equipped aircraft, all programming parameters download automatically from the receiver if you choose. Switch assignments, rates, expo, telemetry, and voice callouts configure themselves. No lengthy step-by-step instructions. No continual adjustments. Just push-button convenience that gets you flying faster.
Smart Technology
The P-51D Mustang 1.5m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including overall battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR637TA+ installed in the BNF Basic version) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly.
Functional Extra Scale Features
Factory-installed LED navigation lights, operational flaps and control surfaces with pocket hinges - even sequenced main gear and tailwheel doors - are functional Extra Scale features that take your experience to another level.
Extra Scale Details
The P-51D Mustang 1.5m features an accurate outline and an abundance of Extra Scale details including molded-in panel lines and hatches, guns and removable drop tanks - plus many more details than you typically find on similar class and smaller models.
Proven Power
The factory-installed power system features a 100-amp ESC plus a proven and reliable high-power brushless outrunner motor that works with the large-diameter four-blade propeller and a 6S 3200–7000+mAh LiPo battery to deliver better-than-scale speed and unlimited vertical performance.
Capable Gear
The wide-spaced main gear feature reliable electric retracts equipped with durable metal components and shock-absorbing struts with scale wheels and softer tires make it possible to fly from a wider variety of surfaces including paved runways and some grass. The main gear and the retractable tailwheel also feature sequenced gear doors for added scale function and appearance.
Durable Precision
Construction with fully-molded EPO material makes it possible to replicate complex detail and shapes in a lightweight yet durable form. The result is an outstanding scale appearance that's easy to maintain and delivers the best possible flight experience, plus the factory-installed servos with ball-link equipped linkages deliver crisp and precise control at every speed.
Iconic Trim Scheme
