The 1/30 Axial SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 RTR brings one of the most iconic off-road vehicles ever built to a compact crawling platform. With an officially licensed ABS hard body, licensed wheels and tires, functional LEDs, and a detailed interior, it delivers heritage and capability in the palm of your hand.
From 1976 to 1986, the Jeep CJ-7 became one of the most successful and recognizable models in Jeep history. It refined the short wheelbase formula with a longer wheelbase that delivered greater stability on both trail and road, and it was the first CJ to truly blur the line between weekend trail rig and daily driver. Flat fenders, an upright grille, exposed hinges, and removable components carried unmistakable Jeep DNA, while more balanced proportions gave it a planted stance that looked just as right on the trail as it did parked outside a hardware store covered in dust. The CJ-7 is the moment Jeep figured out how to evolve without forgetting where it came from.
The Axial® SCX30™ Jeep CJ-7 RTR takes that iconic platform and condenses it into a compact crawler that still feels true to its roots. This is not just a smaller crawler. It is a scaled experience built around heritage, detail, and capability. Whether it is indoor obstacles, desktop terrain, or tight technical lines outdoors, the smaller scale creates a new kind of accessibility without sacrificing the fundamentals of what makes a crawler perform. The focus stays on control, precision, and line choice rather than speed.
Under that officially licensed body sits a high-performance chassis loaded with features typically reserved for competition rigs. An angled skid plate lets the CJ-7 glide over challenging obstacles rather than hang up on them. Ramped axle housings and high-clearance links prevent dragging, while the forward weight bias sharpens climbing stability on technical surfaces. The shorter wheelbase improves agility around tight spaces, and an easy-access transmission with SCX24-compatible optional worm gears lets you dial in the ratio that suits your driving style.
Three distinct versions bring the CJ-7 to life in different ways. The Crawler Version features an officially licensed Jeep CJ-7 GenRight ABS hard body packed with high-definition details inspired by real GenRight builds, giving it a purpose-built off-road look. Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T tires mounted on Raceline Daytona wheels deliver bold, trail-ready traction with a motorsports-inspired stance. The Classic Version carries an officially licensed Jeep CJ-7 ABS hard body that captures the timeless look of the original, complete with a removable hard top, chrome-plated accents, and fully detailed interior and exterior features. Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT tires on American Racing AR23 wheels round out the trail-ready aesthetic.
All versions share Spektrum electronics, including an SLT2 2.4GHz radio system with throttle limiting for beginners, low-mounted electronics for optimal center of gravity, and a Spektrum 2S LiPo battery with USB charger included. Full ball bearings, clipless body mounting, and functional front and rear LEDs complete a feature set that pushes micro crawling in a new direction.
This is the most scale-detailed SCX30 to date. Injection molded ABS hard bodies, officially licensed wheels and tires, functional LED lighting, and detailed interiors deliver a level of visual and tactile authenticity that feels true to the real thing. Every CJ-7 version features a fully detailed interior, just like the SCX10 III CJ7, complete with authentic cockpit elements including shifters, a cup holder, armrest, steering wheel, and other true-to-scale details that bring the cabin to life. With a wide range of customization options, the CJ-7 lets you make it your own.
For collectors, technicians, and crawling enthusiasts who want a compact crawler with real off-road credibility, the Axial SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 delivers true crawling performance and scale authenticity in a format that makes it easier and more affordable than ever to get into RC without compromise.

OFFICIALLY LICENSED MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA BOSS M/T TIRES (CRAWLER VERSION)
Inspired by full-scale off-road performance, the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T tires bring a bold, purposeful tread design that looks as capable as it performs. The aggressive lug pattern and sidewall detailing create a true off-road presence, while the soft compound conforms to terrain for confident grip on rock, dirt, and technical surfaces. Factory-installed foam inserts maintain a realistic stance and consistent contact patch, giving the SCX30 CJ-7 a planted, scale-accurate footprint.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED GOODYEAR WRANGLER BOULDER MT TIRES (CLASSIC VERSION)
The Goodyear Wrangler Boulder MT tires bring a more traditional off-road aesthetic with a rugged tread pattern designed for versatility across terrain. The tightly packed lugs provide consistent forward bite, while the detailed sidewalls reinforce that classic trail-ready look. Built from a soft compound with factory-installed foam inserts, they deliver dependable traction while maintaining a scale-correct profile and feel.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED RACELINE DAYTONA WHEELS (CRAWLER VERSION)
The Raceline Daytona wheels deliver a clean, motorsports-inspired look with a classic multi-spoke design that feels right at home on a built CJ-7. Scale-correct proportions, detailed centers, and realistic finishes elevate the overall appearance, giving the platform that finished-build look straight out of the box. These wheels do not just support performance – they define the stance.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED AMERICAN RACING AR23 WHEELS (CLASSIC VERSION)
The American Racing AR23 wheels channel timeless off-road style with a clean, functional design that complements the CJ-7's heritage. With scale-accurate detailing, realistic proportions, and a finish that mirrors full-size counterparts, these wheels enhance the overall authenticity of the build. They complete the look with a stance that feels intentional, balanced, and ready for the trail.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE CHASSIS
The Axial SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 RTR has a high-performance chassis with an angled skid plate to help you slide over challenging obstacles – a feature usually found only in comp crawlers. Ramped axle housings and high-clearance links also help to avoid dragging and hangups, while the forward weight bias improves climbing stability. The shorter wheelbase helps to improve agility around tight spaces.
EASY-ACCESS TRANSMISSION
The transmission of the SCX30 platform is easily accessible for maintenance and tuning. Optional gears available for the SCX24 are compatible for using different ratios.
CLIPLESS BODY MOUNTING
The clipless body mounting system allows fast, easy access to the chassis for battery replacement and general maintenance.
FULL BALL BEARINGS
The SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 may be small, but its high-quality features deliver big-league performance and value. Rather than cutting costs with bushings, the drivetrain spins freely on sealed ball bearings throughout the entire rig.
SPEKTRUM SLT2 2.4GHz TRANSMITTER
The included Spektrum SLT2 transmitter is designed to help all drivers succeed on the trails. Its throttle limiting feature can limit the rig's maximum available speed to 50% or 75% until you're ready for it all. Four AA batteries are included.
SPEKTRUM ELECTRONICS
The factory-installed electronics on-board are mounted low in the chassis to improve the center of gravity. The ready-to-run package comes complete with a powerful Spektrum 2S LiPo battery and 0.5A USB charger for fast, easy, and safe battery recharging.
