Ed "Big Daddy" Roth was an American artist, cartoonist, illustrator, custom car designer, pinstriper, and builder. He created the hot rod icon Rat Fink and other Fink characters. Roth was a key figure in Southern California's Kustom Kulture and hot rod movement of the late 1950s and 1960s. By the August 1959 issue of Car Craft his airbrushed Weirdo shirts had become a full-blown craze. His many show rods later became some of Revell's most popular model kits. This classic 1:490 scale U.S. Navy cruiser measures approximately 16.75 inches long when complete and includes 77 parts. The kit features movable guns, rotating turrets, two scout planes with catapults and crane, a display stand, a flag sheet, detailed instructions, and decals for the entire Baltimore class of heavy cruisers. That gives builders the option to finish the model as U.S.S. Pittsburgh or another famous Baltimore-class cruiser. The real U.S.S. Pittsburgh CA-72 was a Baltimore-class heavy cruiser and a World War II veteran with one of the most remarkable survival stories in U.S. Navy history. Commissioned in 1944, Pittsburgh served in the Pacific and supported major operations including Iwo Jima and Okinawa. During the fighting around Iwo Jima, she helped rescue sailors from the badly damaged carrier U.S.S. Franklin, then assisted the crippled carrier while under threat from enemy aircraft. Pittsburgh’s most famous moment came in June 1945, when she was caught in a powerful Pacific typhoon. Huge seas tore away the ship’s bow, but the crew fought for hours to save the cruiser. Incredibly, Pittsburgh reached Guam without the loss of a single man. Her separated bow was later nicknamed “a suburb of Pittsburgh,” and the ship became known as “The Longest Ship in the World” because her bow and stern were separated by hundreds of miles. This Atlantis Models release is a great choice for naval modelers, World War II history enthusiasts, U.S. Navy collectors, and fans of classic plastic model ships. With a large finished size, moving features, aircraft details, and decal options for the Baltimore class, the U.S.S. Pittsburgh CA-72 makes an impressive addition to any model fleet. North Carolina and U.S.S. Washington, giving builders the option to finish the model as either of the two famous North Carolina-class battleships. The real U.S.S. North Carolina BB-55 was the lead ship of her class and one of the most important U.S. Navy battleships of World War II. Built at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, she quickly earned the nickname “The Showboat” because of the attention she drew during fitting out and sea trials in New York Harbor. North Carolina was the first of the Navy’s modern fast battleships and entered the Pacific in 1942. She helped protect U.S. aircraft carriers during the Guadalcanal campaign and went on to serve across the Pacific theater. The ship supported major operations in the Solomon Islands, Gilbert Islands, Marshall Islands, and beyond. Her powerful main battery, heavy anti-aircraft defenses, and fast battleship design made her a vital part of America’s island-hopping campaign. During her World War II service, U.S.S. North Carolina earned 15 battle stars and participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific theater. Today, the real battleship is preserved in Wilmington, North Carolina, as a National Historic Landmark and memorial to more than 11,000 North Carolinians who gave their lives during World War II. This Atlantis release is a great choice for ship modelers, World War II history enthusiasts, U.S. Navy collectors, and classic plastic model kit fans. Ticonderoga CV-14 was an Essex-class aircraft carrier named in honor of the capture of Fort Ticonderoga during the American Revolutionary War. She was the fourth U.S. Navy ship to carry the name and earned five battle stars during World War II. Later modernized with an angled deck, Ticonderoga continued serving through the Cold War and Vietnam War, earning three Navy Unit Commendations, one Meritorious Unit Commendation, and 12 battle stars for Vietnam service. Ticonderoga also played a role in America’s space program. In 1972, she recovered the astronauts from Apollo 17, the final crewed mission to the Moon. This combination of World War II service, Cold War modernization, Vietnam combat operations, and NASA recovery duty makes the U.S.S. When knighthood was in flower it became common practice to challenge any other knight to a fight, for very little, or no reason at all. In order to protect themselves from unnecessary bloodshed, the armor as we recognize it today, was developed. The armor suit worn by the Silver Knight of Augsburg is considered a composite armor that is made up from more than one version of the suits from that time period. The weight of the suits varied widely depending on the accessories used and the height and weight of the wearer. Generally 70 to 90 pounds was the range of the weights. This type of suit was used primarily in the tilt, also known as the joust. These unique models have been engineered to build-up into beautiful display pieces. The office of United States Marshal was created by the First Congress. President George Washington signed the Judiciary Act into law on September 24, 1789. During the settlement of the American Frontier, marshals served as the main source of day-to-day law enforcement in areas that had no local government of their own. From the nation's earliest days, Marshals were permitted to recruit special Deputies as local hires. Marshals were also authorized to swear in a posse to assist with manhunts, and other duties. Individual Deputy Marshals have been seen as legendary heroes in the face of frontier rampant lawlessness such as Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Dallas Stoudenmire, and Bass Reeves. Your model of the US Marshal is based on these Old West examples. This kit comes from the Pyro Tooling. Comes packaged in the classic Aurora style long box. Stands over 9 inches tall! ATLANTIS
Atlantis 1/91 Convair B-58 ... $ PRICE IN PROGRESS!
Packing a big punch in a small package, Convair's delta-winged B-58 is the most fantastic long-range bomber to take the air. Many years in the planning stages, and taking many of its design features from its highly successful smaller brother, the F-102, the Hustler has become America's first line long-range bomber. Although most information about this aircraft is top secret, it is known to have a wingspan of 55 feet and an overall length of about 95 feet. It has admittedly flown over 1500 miles per hour, but no official top speed has been announced. As part of the United States participation in the 24th International Aeronautical Show, a B-58 flew from New York to Paris in 3 hours 19 minutes and 41 seconds. It is powered with 4 General Electric J79 turbojets, each having a thrust rating of 12,000 pounds. With after burners installed, this rating can be boosted appreciably. Perhaps the most interesting feature of this aircraft is the method in which it carries its tactical cargo. A series of external pods have been designed, and in these the Hustler can carry a variety of equipment, ranging from extra fuel, photo reconnaissance systems, to nuclear weapons. The standard crew consists of 3: a Pilot, a Navigator-Bombardier, and a Defensive Systems Operator. A pressurization and air conditioning system is designed into the aircraft, and controls the heating, pressurization and dehumidification of the cabin air, as well as defogging the windshield, and keeping the cockpit temperatures low. Among the other features included in the Hustler's design is the 'area rule' or 'wasp waist' fuselage. This, along with a 'conical camber' leading edge, and a completely new 'honeycomb' wing construction has made the B-58 the most spectacular bomber to join the United States Air Force. Features 1:93 Scale. Comes from the Original Revell tooling dating back to the late 1950's. Molded in Silver with clear parts and waterslide decals. Measures 11.5 inches long with a 7.5 inch wingspan. 67 parts

Among the truly great aircraft of World War II, few acheived the status of the famous B-24 Liberator. This aircraft participated in most of the mass raids in Europe, and when the scene shifted to the Pacific Theater, they were on hand to carry the war to the Japanese homeland. This durable heavy bomber was seen in all fighting zones in a variety of roles, ranging from bomber, transport, and tanker to photo reconnaissance and trainer. These 4 engine giants established new distance records and were the most widely used heavy bombers in the war. Of the 18,188 Liberators produced for the US Army, 6,678 were B-24Js. The J variant received a modified, hydraulically powered nose turret and improved autopilot, and bombsight. They had a wingspan of 110 feet; length was 67 feet 2 inches; and they stood 18 feet high. Powered by 4 Pratt & Whitney R-1830-65 fourteen cylinder engines, they had a top speed potential of 300 mph and a service ceiling of 28,000 feet. Maximum bomb load was 12,800 pounds. The crew varied from 8 to 10 men and the B-24J carried ten .50 caliber machine guns for protection. Features 8 movable guns on 4 rotating turrets, pilot & co-pilot figures, landing gear with rolling wheels, 4 movable propellers, colorful decal sheet, clear swivel stand that revolves to any position. 1/96 Scale. From the Original Aurora Tooling which was updated by Monogram in the late 1970's. Kit is moulded in white with clear part for windshield. Decals for Eastern and Early TWA Airlines. Features detailed landing gear with 13.5 inch wingspan. Skill Level 2. A new and wonderful achievement in modern luxury jet transportation was made available to most cities in the early 1960's. The Boeing Airplane Company added the Boeing 727 jetliner to their world-renowned fleet of jet aircraft. Based on millions of miles of Boeing 707 and 720 flying experience, the new 727 embodied proven techniques as well as the latest word in systems and facilities. Step-by-step research and development over a period of years by Boeing engineers and technicians resulted in a specific airplane with definite objectives. The ability to take off and land frequently at smaller airports on shorter routes and still maintain the same roominess and comfort of the larger Boeing 707 and 720 airliners were important points. Thus was born the 727, expressing the luxury and refinements of modern jet travel, yet small enough and powerful enough, with a 3 engine combination, to be accommodated on fields of 5,000 feet. Even at its maximum landing weight of 131,000 lbs, the 727 can land on a 4,980 foot runway. Specifications of the 727 list the wingspan as 180' 7", overall length 132' 5", overall height 34', body width 12' 4", body depth forward 13' 2", body depth aft 14', landing gear tread 18' 9", turning radius 70' 3", weight empty 77,500 lbs, payload 24,000 lbs, and horizontal tail span 35' 5". Accommodations of the 727 are comparable to the larger Boeing jets, the cabin is identical in height and width and offers the same seating and distribution of window space along with the same flexibility of seating arrangements of groups of four, five, or six abreast. First class accommodates 70 passengers while dual-class accommodates 28 first class and 66 tourist, a total of 94 passengers. Cabin appointments provide air-conditioned comfort, indirect lighting, completely balanced sound equipment, 3 modern lavatories and a minimum of exterior noise. The Boeing 727 was superbly developed and typical travellers, whether on business or pleasure, were more than pleased to enter the comfortable cabin with the security of endless miles of jet travel as a basis for their trip. The novelty of jet travel was quickly becoming an ordinary way of life and distance was no longer a factor to those with limited time for visits or vacations.
