Losi LOS-2272 Promoto-SM 1/...
$959.95
Powering off the line, speeding down straights, and leaning through curves and turns, a unique harmony develops between a bike and its rider. The two intuitively become one. Despite its power, the two-wheeler feels light and nimble as it reacts instantly to your cues — as if it's simply an extension of you.
That's also how it feels to drive Losi Promoto RC bikes.
The Losi Promoto-MX was the first RC dirt bike to accurately reproduce the full experience and pure fun of riding a real motorcycle. Now, for on-road RC and motorcycle fans, Losi presents the Promoto-SM — the most authentic supermoto experience ever offered in a radio-control bike.
The Promoto-SM is particularly well-suited for concrete, asphalt, blacktop, and other hard surfaces found at neighborhood streets, local parks, and parking lots. Key differences from the Promoto-MX include new Pro-Line Racing OE (Original Equipment) SM street tires on smaller wheels, a more powerful front brake caliper, and revised lean bar wheels. The Promoto-SM can lean farther than its dirt bike counterpart, and the lean bar tires decrease noise and offer better traction on hard surfaces.
The Losi Promoto-SM also looks like a true supermoto bike. Its distinctive visual details include hand guards, shortened front fender, and officially licensed FXR graphics and rider gear.
What the Promoto-SM shares with the breakthrough Promoto-MX is an innovative blend of mechanical and electronic technology that work together to provide a realistic experience that no other RC bike can touch. The electronics include a 2700Kv motor and steel flywheel that are both mounted in the center of the frame. The motor spins the flywheel at over 22,000 rpm to create a gyroscopic force for unparalleled stability. Patent-pending Spektrum MS6X technology takes your input from the Spektrum DX3PM transmitter and commands the Promoto-SM to lean, turn, and wheelie with unprecedented balance and finesse.
The mechanical technology is equally impressive. Losi's product development team studied full-size motorcycle suspension geometry to give Promoto RC bikes the same terrain handling characteristics. A rising rate rear suspension provides superior grip and prevents bottoming out in landings. Their completely new front fork design, with an internal spring and dampener, can be tuned by changing the silicone dampening fluid and also allows ride height adjustments. An innovative front and rear wheel braking system adds impressive stopping power, cutting the stopping distance in half compared to rear brake only.
Both technologies, electronic and mechanical, are why the Promoto platform performs better at high and low speeds than any previous RC motorcycle. Now, with the Losi Promoto-SM, there's an RC bike that really works — with tarmac-ready performance and style!

UPDATED LEAN BARS
The Promoto-SM lean bar positioning has been updated so it can lean farther than its dirt bike counterpart. New rubber lean bar tires, mounted on bearings, reduce noise and offer better traction on hard surfaces. Adjustable stops are included for up and down travel, so you can dial in the bike for any surface or grip level. The lean bars also often help with crash recovery when the rear tire has traction. If the bike is down on the track, simply hit the throttle to stand it upright and resume driving.
PATENT-PENDING SPEKTRUM MS6X TECHNOLOGY
The included Spektrum DX3PM transmitter and SR6300PM receiver combine with patent-pending MS6X technology for unprecedented control. Promoto-SM drivers can maintain balance at high or low speeds while maneuvering over concrete, asphalt, blacktop, and other hard surfaces. For more aggressive driving and extreme cornering angles, use the MS6X knob to increase the lean angle.
“ON THE FLY” DRIVE MODES
The DX3PM has three preprogrammed drive modes that you can toggle between “on the fly” using your thumb on the A/B rocker switch.
Dirt Mode — Allows the Promoto-SM to pitch up enough without clipping the throttle for going up jump faces and obstacles, but helps prevent “wheelie-overs” by intuitively clipping the throttle output if the bike begins to pitch up too far.
Street Mode — Senses when the Promoto-SM starts to pitch up and clips the throttle quickly, getting the front tire back on the ground to accelerate as much as possible.
Wheelie Control — Let 'em rip! Wheelie Control lets you hold wheelies on smooth surfaces all the way to top speed.
SMART TECHNOLOGY
How much battery life is left on your bike? You don't have to guess. LED indicators on the DX3PM transmitter show you the remaining capacity of your Spektrum Smart batteries at glance! Using Spektrum Smart Technology, the Promoto-SM stores and shares critical performance data while you run. Smart technology also simplifies battery charging. When you connect a Smart battery to a Spektrum Smart charger, the battery's unique charging requirements upload automatically from its memory microchip through the IC connector's data wire to the Smart charger. Safe charging begins automatically! (You can receive additional telemetry information in real-time, such as speed, RPM, amp draw, ESC temperature, and more, by upgrading to the Spektrum DX5C or DX5 Pro transmitter.)
UPDATED BRAKE CALIPERS & PISTON
Although the original Promoto-MX front brake system worked well, the design team thought that improvements could be made. An all-new caliper and floating piston were designed to apply a larger pressure area to the brake pad. Also, a new Metal Injection Molded (MIM) piston shaft is installed on the bearings for smoother operation and a better seal again dust and debris. All of this adds up to a shorter stopping distance and more consistent braking operation.
FLYWHEEL UNIT
The gyroscopic stabilization force created by its heavy steel flywheel — spinning at over 22,000 rpm with the 2700Kv motor — does wonders for the motorcycle's stability. Mounted as low and as far forward as possible in the frame, the flywheel unit enables the Promoto-SM to pivot around its center point to improve jumping, changes of direction, and the accuracy of the bike's performance.
HEAD DAMPING
With eight pounds rapidly powering down the track, it takes quite a stiff servo saver spring setup to properly guide the Promoto-SM into the next turn. Like anything heavily sprung, the best way to control the strong springs is to dampen the movement. A key development for the Promoto platform is a fluid-filled friction chamber between the upper and lower head tube bearings. The chamber is filled with heavy 500,000cSt which dampens the servo saver well and helps to control any possible "head shake.”
SERVO SAVER
The servo saver's stiff circular springs, captured by bearing-mounted composite plates, provide consistency in steering with enough give to protect the servo. But that's not all. It also drastically improves the bike's performance when setting down from wheelies, landing from jumps, power sliding through a turn, and pushing the front tire over a curb. It gives so the bike stays up.
ELECTRONICS INCLUDED
Transmitter (Spektrum DX3PM Smart DSMR)
Receiver (Spektrum 6-Channel DSMR Promoto Receiver)
Steering Servo (Spektrum S620PM Metal Gear Servo)
Front Brake Servo (Spektrum SX108PM Micro Servo)
Motor (Spektrum Firma 3652 3800Kv 4-Pole Brushless Motor)
Flywheel Assembly (Spektrum Motorcycle Stator & ESC Assembly / Spektrum Motorcycle Flywheel Assembly)
Electronic Speed Control (Spektrum Firma 85A Brushless Smart Motorcycle ESC)
NARROW CHASSIS
To capture the proper scale looks, the bike's electronics and battery all had to fit within a compact, narrow chassis. Requiring a special “shorty” battery would have made the design task simple, but the Promoto-SM product development team wanted to use a more convenient, standard size battery. Mission accomplished! A full-size 2S hardcase LiPo fits within the rider's seat, easy to access for quick battery changes. Pop in a charged pack and you're back in seconds to leading your competition.
REALISTIC RIDER FIGURE
The rider figures of other RC motorcycles are made entirely of foam, which quickly fails. Promoto riders have a rubberized plastic exterior that can give and flex under impacts and flips. To keep the rider from bobbling around on the bike, the torso has a foam insert. It keeps the body firm during normal operation but still able to give under impact. With its updated gear, the Promoto-SM rider looks ready for aggressive on-road racing action!
PRO-LINE RACING OE (ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT) SUPERMOTO STREET TIRES
The Promoto-SM is outfitted with new Pro-Line Racing OE (Original Equipment) Supermoto street tires. In addition to complementing the bike's scale looks, the Supermoto tires are designed specifically for the unique wear and traction requirements of supermoto-style road racing.
DISPLAY/MAINTENANCE & STARTING STANDS
Working on a real bike is easier with a proper bike stand. So the Promoto-SM had to have one, too! The included stand for maintenance and display is modeled after a real bike stand, complete with graphics. To keep the bike balanced on the stand, the Promoto-SM keys into the bike stand. But taking it a step further, a hands-free starting stand is also included. This starting stand cradles the rear tire and holds the bike upright and ready for a gate-style start.
TRUE-SPOKE WHEELS
Before Losi introduced the Promoto platform, no other manufacturers had been able to create proper-looking spoked wheels with the durability needed for an RC bike. It took the determination and expertise of the Losi product development team to make it happen. For the Promoto-SM, the realistic, true-spoke wheels are smaller, in keeping with the design of real on-road motorcycles.
PLASTICS WITH GRAPHICS
Big or small, no street bike would look right without a proper body panel kit wrapped in vinyl graphics. The Promoto-SM has all the goods — fenders, number plate, fork guards, front and rear side panels — all looking fresh wrapped in updated, highly durable vinyl graphics.
REALISTIC DETAILS
Even tiny touches matter, and Losi hasn't overlooked a thing — exhaust, brake line, foot pegs, brake rotors, you name it. The Promoto-SM also includes hand guards, recreating those used on full-size supermoto bikes to protect the brake and clutch levers during a fall.
REAR FENDER
Wheelies happen. A normal, rigid-mounted rear fender would really take a beating. But the Promoto-SM has the solution — a hinged elastomer sprung rear fender that can deflect out of the way during wheelies to expose a durable nylon rear bumper. It substantially increases the durability of the rear fender.
FRONT CRASH STRUCTURE
The front crash structure of the Promoto-SM is rigid during normal running, but compresses until the front tire bottoms into the chassis frame to absorb front impacts. That protects the front fork tubes from bending, keeping them safe and true.
SKID PLATES & AIR VENTS
Molded composite skid plates line the front and bottom of the Promoto-SM chassis. They offer protection during crashes and keep debris out of the chassis, helping to protect the electronics mounted inside. The air vents on each side of the bike come closed in the box, but can be opened to provide cooling airflow when ambient temperatures are high.
TWIN ALUMINUM PLATE CHASSIS
Twin aluminum chassis plates house and protect all of the bike's electronics and help to give the Promoto-SM its realistically narrow appearance. They also give the frame the rigidity and durability required for harsh impacts.
FRONT FORK
The front fork of the Promoto-SM is another Losi innovation with an internal spring and dampener. Designed to work similar to normal RC shocks, the front fork tubes can be rebuilt and tuned by changing the silicone dampening fluid. Using counter-wound upper and lower springs, spacers can be used to adjust the ride height of the Promoto-SM as well. And maybe most importantly, they look awesome — just like the real deal.
RISING RATE REAR SUSPENSION
Just like a real bike, the Promoto-SM has a rising rate rear suspension. The suspension starts soft around ride height, for smooth handling and a superior grip. It becomes firmer as it gets deeper into up travel, to provide proper preload on jumps and prevent bottoming out in landings. Dialed in with a full oil-filled coil-over shock, the Promoto-SM is ready to rip over any on-road surface.
BRUSHLESS POWER SYSTEM
The Promoto-SM comes out of the gates HOT with a powerful Spektrum Smart brushless power system. Its 4-pole 3652 3800Kv motor puts down the power while the 85A brushless ESC adds all the control you need. With massive 40+ mph top speeds on a 2S LiPo battery, the Promoto-SM power system rips!
HEAD ANGLE
After months of testing different trail settings, head angle, and steering ratios, the Promoto-SM product development team found the sweet spot. A head tube angle of 62.4 degrees gives it the best balance of bump handling, landing jumps, steering input, and “head shake” control on all surfaces.
RACE-INSPIRED SLIPPER CLUTCH
As its 3800Kv Spektrum Firma Brushless motor puts out abundant power, the Promoto-SM's race inspired dual disc slipper clutch helps the rear tire maintain traction on a variety of surfaces. The dual pad, spring pressurized slipper clutch takes inspiration from those that the TLR team uses to win races across the globe. It increases traction and protects the drivetrain without sacrificing explosive drive.
FRONT CABLE-DRIVEN DISC BRAKE
Hauling on your bike is a lot more fun when you've got good brakes. The motor can handle rear braking through the drivetrain, but like 1:1 motorcycles, most of the braking happens with the front tire. To slow the Promoto-SM down from the front, the front brake uses a steel rotor, caliper-actuated brake pads, and servo-driven cable. It cuts your stopping distance in half.
REALISTIC CHAIN DRIVE
We could not call the Promoto-SM a true street racing bike if wasn't chain driven. Steel links and 70 roller pins wrap around a 10-tooth steel drive sprocket and a 36-tooth aluminum hub sprocket. Regardless of conditions, the chain drive will drive the rear tire efficiently and reliably.
READY-TO-RUN
The Losi Promoto-SM comes fully assembled, with a high-quality Spektrum Smart radio system included and on-board electronics already installed. Even AA transmitter batteries are supplied! Just add a 2S LiPo battery with IC5 plug and a compatible charger and you're ready to ride.

Losi LOS04018 8ight-XE 1/8 ...
$1,019.99
Performance that racers respect.
The most thrilling and challenging form of RC car competition is 1/8 scale off-road buggy racing. The tracks often stretch over 20,000 square feet, with frequent turns, washboard sections, and off-camber corners that put the drivers’ abilities to the test. Moving at insane speeds over multiple elevation changes, the cars sometimes leap more than 30 feet in their sprint for the podium!
What does it take to succeed? The driver needs control skill, and a cool head under pressure. The buggy must be adaptable to changing track conditions and personal driving styles. A vehicle that already includes an ideal combination of race-proven features — such as the right shock package, the best tire compound and tread, and differentials tuned to put maximum power to the ground — offers a good head start toward the win.
That’s exactly what you get with the ready-to-run Losi 8IGHT-XE 1/8 Scale 4WD Racing Buggy. Based on the back-to-back ROAR National Champion TLR 8IGHT-X platform, it’s loaded with engineering that’s proven to win races. The sensored brushless power system, race-legal chassis and electronics, full metal driveline, competition-caliber Spektrum S665 steering servo, and other standard features are enough to get any racer’s adrenaline pumping even before the starting tone.
The Losi 8IGHT-XE also delivers serious bang for your buck. To enter 1/8 scale competition with a buggy this well-equipped, you’d normally have to spend $650+ on a kit, add about $600 worth of carefully chosen electronics, and then put it all together yourself after investing in tools and learning the required assembly skills. Before joining the races with the ready-to-run 8IGHT-XE, you just paint its cab-forward body in your signature color and charge up your choice of the recommended batteries.
Its on-track performance is as aggressive as a nitro machine but with the simplicity of electric power. Keep a second charged 4S LiPo battery on hand and you’ll be in and out of the pits in an instant. Because top-of-the-line TLR option parts are directly compatible, you can easily upgrade your Losi 8IGHT-XE into an absolutely indomitable buggy as your skills grow. If you’re a technically minded, competitive type in search of a long-term hobby you’ll love, look no further. Dive into 1/8 scale racing with the 8IGHT-XE and you’ll also learn about suspension dynamics and other topics that carry over into full-scale racing.
Ultimately, RC racing is about more than winning. It’s being part of a team, traveling to events, sharing set-ups, and supporting each other in the pit lane. To get there, start here — with the Losi 8IGHT-XE 4WD. The fully assembled, ready-to-run 1/8 scale buggy comes with a Spektrum DX3 radio and requires only a 4S LiPo battery and compatible charger.

SPEKTRUM 2200Kv BRUSHLESS MOTOR
With a 4S LiPo battery, the installed Spektrum 2200Kv brushless motor produces more than enough raw power to get every racer’s adrenaline pumping.
SPEKTRUM DX3 TRANSMITTER
The throttle limiting function on the included Spektrum DX3 2.4GHz transmitter lets novice racers limit the buggy’s top speed to 50% or 75% of its full potential until they’re ready to unleash it all. You can follow how much battery capacity is available on the transmitter’s Smart battery level indicator.
CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING HERITAGE
The ready-to-run Losi 8IGHT-XE 4WD is based on a platform that pro 1/8 scale racers use to win — the back-to-back ROAR National Champion TLR 8IGHT-X. When you’re ready to upgrade, use TLR option parts to take its performance to the next level.
FULLY RACE-LEGAL CHASSIS & ELECTRONICS
You won’t have to modify the ready-to-run 8IGHT-XE 4WD or replace its included electronics in order to be legal for racing. Just charge up your 4S LiPo batteries and start racing today!
PAINT-TO-COMPLETE CAB-FORWARD BODY
Not only is the 8IGHT-XE 4WD based on the same 1/8 scale platform that racers use, but its main body section is left clear to paint in your own signature color. No one else on the track will have a racing buggy that looks like yours! RC Body Paint (not included).
SPEKTRUM S665 STEERING SERVO
The installed Spektrum S665 waterproof steering servo easily handles the demands of 1/8 scale racing with full metal gears, high torque (over 270 oz-in @ 7.4V), and a fast 0.10 second transit time. It also features an industry-standard 25T spline servo horn.
RACE-READY SPEKTRUM SR315 RECEIVER
When you want more precision from your electronics, there’s no need to install another receiver. The Spektrum SR315 lets you take advantage of Smart technology. With a transmitter upgrade and the SR315, you can also use forward programming to tune your on-board electronics wirelessly.
ALUMINUM CHASSIS
The Losi 8IGHT-XE 4WD’s 4mm thick aluminum chassis gives the buggy a strong, stable foundation, along with the durability needed to stay tough through long days of competitive racing.
FULL METAL DRIVELINE
From the axles to the ring and pinion and main center spur gear, every part of the 8IGHT-XE 4WD’s driveline is made of heat-treated steel to survive abuse at demanding tracks throughout the world.
FLUID-FILLED & SEALED DIFFERENTIALS
The front, center, and rear differentials allow each tire to drive independently and deliver maximum racing traction. You can tune the differentials with TLR silicone diff fluids (available separately) to adapt the Losi 8IGHT-XE to different tracks and conditions.
EASY ACCESS DIFFERENTIALS
The design of the Losi 8IGHT-XE 4WD lets you remove the differentials quickly for easy trackside maintenance and tuning.
ALUMINUM SHOCK TOWERS
Lightweight and strong, these aluminum shock towers support the shock movement needed to keep your 8IGHT-XE 4WD glued to the track. Use the tuning holes to adjust shock position to match the race track and your driving style.
ALUMINUM OIL-FILLED SHOCKS
The aluminum oil-filled shocks are threaded for easy ride height adjustments after your warm-up laps. They can also be tuned using different springs and shock oils to adjust your suspension dynamics.
FRONT & REAR SWAY BARS
Front and rear sway bars are standard on the Losi 8IGHT-XE to keep your chassis level with the track as you race through the corners.
ADJUSTABLE WING MOUNT
The wing mount can be adjusted as needed to optimize downforce and improve your grip on any track.
ADJUSTABLE STEEL TURNBUCKLES
Adjustable steel turnbuckles let you tune camber and toe to change the Losi 8IGHT-XE handling characteristics.
