Build, paint and detail small-scale model ships with greater stability and control.
The Advance Hobby Frigate is a compact, adjustable building jig designed to hold your model securely while keeping both hands free for assembly, painting and detailed work. Its independently positionable hull supports can be moved along the base and adjusted to suit different hull shapes, widths and angles.
Multiple Support Configurations
Two support-arm sizes are included, allowing you to adapt the jig to different hull widths and profiles. Each support is angle-adjustable and lined with self-adhesive foam to help protect the model’s surface.
Large support arms
- Width range: 10–205 mm
- Height: 60 mm
Compact support arms
- Width range: 10–125 mm
- Height: 35 mm
Built-In Measuring Guides
Position the supports evenly using the measuring guides engraved into the baseboard. The compact MDF base provides a stable work platform without occupying unnecessary room on your modelling bench.
Designed for Small-Scale Model Ships
Ideal for many smaller model ships, including selected 1:350 to 1:700 scale vessels. Compatibility will depend on the model’s actual length, width and hull shape.
Simple Flat-Pack Assembly
The Frigate jig arrives as a flat-packed MDF kit and requires assembly with PVA glue. Assembly takes approximately 15–30 minutes, excluding glue-drying time.
