Trumpeter 00347 1/35 LCM(3)...
$68.99
The LCM (Landing Craft Mechanized) was the most widely used type of tank-carrying landing craft in WWII and more than 8,500 were built in American yards between 1942 and 1945. As British had no tank-carrying craft lighter than LCT (Landing Craft Tank) s, LCMs were also readily adopted by Royal Navy. LCMs could be either carried on ship davits, or towed across the English Channel. Due to the danger of swamping in rough seas, most LCMs were towed across the Channel and not loaded with troops until the mornings of D-Day. LCMs could be readily identified by their unique perforated bow ramp. As tanks grew larger and heavier, the LCM (3) was developed with a longer hull and greater buoyancy, which allowed a 30-ton tank to be carried. They could also handle up to 30 tons of cargo or 60 troops. LCM (3) had a crew of 4 men and was armed with two 50-caliber machine guns. The LCM was not designed for the crew to live aboard and it remained dependent upon a parent ship over long periods of time. The most important role played by LCMs on D-Day was transporting the engineer teams assigned to demolish the beach obstacles.

Trumpeter 00902 1/16 T-34/85 model 1944 Fty.183
The T-34/85 Soviet Red Army Tank was considered by many as, "The best tank of World War 2". It was fast, easy to maneuver and hard-hitting. Appearing in huge numbers from early 1944, it led the assault on Germany until the end of the war.
When it was widely exported to many communist nations. The major change in T-34 production after 1943 was the arrival of the 85mm (3.34in) gun T-34/85. It had a new three-man turret and a larger-diameter turret ring. Both the T-34/76 and /85 were built in parallel until mid-1944, when production of the former stopped after 35,099 had been completed.
The huge losses of T-34s in 1941 and 1943 were due respectively to the speed and surprise of the German advance (Blitzkrieg) and the development of new German heavy tanks, such as the Tiger and Panther. The Panther, in particular, was designed with sloped armour modeled after the T-34 and. with a long-barrelled 75mm (2.95in) gun that matched the Soviet 76.2mm (3in) gun.
Although similar in appearance and using the same automotive components, the T-34/85 was a major redesign, with a new three-man turret, the same as that used on the KV-85. The new gun was the D-5T85 (later replaced by the ZIS-S53) dual-purpose 85mm (3.34in) gun, which could fire shells able to penetrate102mm (4in) of armour at 1000m (3280ft). This was enough to defeat a Panther or Tiger at closer range.
The T-34/85 was rolling off the production lines in January 1944, only five months after the design was initiated. That year over 11,000 were produced and these played the major role in pushing the Germans back into Germany in late 1944.
The T-34/85 remained the principal Soviet tank until the late 1940s and was produced for Third Party Nations well into the 1960s.
This kit depicts the T-34/85 Model 1944 with “flattened” turret, later style one piece commander’s hatch, and non-pierced rubber-rimmed road wheel.

The Hummel (Sd.Kfz.165) was a German self-propelled howitzer of World War II. The first prototypes of the vehicle were built in 1942, and series production lasted from 1943 to 1945, culminating in the production of approximately 700 vehicles. The Hummel was powered by a single 300 hp Maybach HL 120 TRM engine . Its armament consisted of a 150 mm sFH 18 howitzer and one 7.92 mm MG 34 machine gun.
The Hummel was designed as a self-propelled howitzer intended to operate alongside tanks and mechanized infantry in German armored and panzergrenadier divisions. Its chassis was based on components from the PzKpfw III Ausf J and PzKpfw IV Ausf F tanks. The fighting compartment was located at the rear of the hull, with the engine in the center, and the driver and radio operator in the front. Only one version of the Hummel was built, with later production runs slightly elongating the hull to provide more space for the crew at the front of the vehicle. The Hummel is considered one of the best German self-propelled howitzers of World War II. Serial production took place at the Deutsche Eisenwerke plant in Duisburg. The vehicle was first used in combat on the Eastern Front in 1943, and saw large-scale action during the Battle of Kursk (July 1943), but was soon deployed to both the Italian Front and – from 1944 – the Western Front.

The Dassault Rafale (French squall) is a French twin-engine multi-role fighter plane with delta wings. Construction of the Rafale was initiated in 1980 by Dassault as an experimental combat aircraft - the ACX. It was to replace the tactical battlefield aircraft of the French air force Jaguar and the French navy Vouhgt F-8E and Dassault Super Etendard. Rafale A, powered by two General Electric F104 turbofan engines, left the assembly line on December 14, 1985, and exceeded the speed of sound in its first flight on July 4, 1986. In April 1987, the plane made several approaches to aircraft carrier Clemenceau to mark an operation from the deck. In April 1989, the new SNECMA M88-2 engine was introduced, which became the basic power unit. The flight of the aircraft in this configuration took place on February 27, 1990. The plane was purchased by India in 2012, so far (2013) other countries apart from India and France have not acquired the plane. Technical data: length: 15.27 m, wingspan: 10.8 m, height: 5.34 m, maximum speed: 2130 km / h, climb speed: 305 m / s, practical ceiling: 16 800 m, maximum range: over 3700 km, armament: fixed - 1 GIAT 30 cannon, cal.30 mm, suspended - up to 9500 kg of cargo.

The J-10C uses a DSI inlet, which can ensure flight performance in the transonic speed range. The biggest advantage compared to the J-10A is that the DSI inlet can reduce the structural weight. In appearance, the DSI inlet is the biggest feature of the J-10C. The DSI inlet has become the standard for several Chinese-developed light fighters. The J-10C uses an active phased array radar, which has both powerful "air-to-ground" and "air-to-air" performance, and can also carry a variety of weapons. The J-10C air combat weapons include PL-10, PL-8, PL-12, and PL-15 air-to-air missiles; air-to-ground weapons include KD-88 air-to-ground missiles, YJ-91 anti-radiation missiles, and laser / Satellite-guided bombs can perform both air intercept missions and air-surface missions against ground targets and maritime targets. The multi-purpose capability is greatly improved compared to the J-10A.

The Douglas SBD "Dauntless" dive bomber is the backbone of the Pacific Fleet's naval aviation. It has the lowest loss rate among U.S. aircraft carrier-based aircraft. Between 1940 and July 1944, Douglas produced a total of 5,936 SBD Dauntless and Army A-24s. The SBD "Dauntless" dive bomber has a unique flap system called "Swiss cheese". The dive speed brake is covered with 3-inch diameter openings, which allows the aircraft to accurately rush to the target. Recovery from vertical dive. In addition to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Army Aviation, the SBD Dauntless dive bomber is also in service in countries such as New Zealand and Mexico. The first recorded enemy ship sunk by the U.S. Navy in World War II was caused by an SBD Dauntless dive bomber taking off from the USS Enterprise. And in subsequent battles, 18 enemy ships were sunk, including one battleship and six aircraft carriers. SBD-1 and SBD-2 are equipped with two 7.62 mm machine guns in the engine hood of the aircraft, and 1-2 machine guns in the rear seat for defense.

The Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber became a mainstay of the Navy's air fleet in the Pacific, with the lowest loss ratio of any U.S. carrier-based aircraft. Douglas delivered a total of 5,936 SBD/A-24s between 1940 and the end of production in July 1944. The SBD Dauntless featured "Swiss cheese" flaps — dive brakes punched with 3-inch holes — so that it could achieve pinpoint accuracy by diving to the target, dropping the bomb and then pulling out of the near-vertical dive. In addition to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Army Air Forces, the Dauntless served forces in New Zealand and Mexico. The first enemy ship sunk by the U.S. Navy in World II is credited to a Dauntless from the USS Enterprise.
The diving Dauntless went on to destroy 18 enemy warships, including a battleship and six carriers. The SBD-5 which was built at a new Douglas plant set up at Tulsa; this version had a 1,200 hp R-1820-60 engine and 2,409 were built for the Navy. The A-7D“Corsair II” is a single-seat, tactical close air support aircraft. Although designed primarily as a ground attack aircraft, it also has limited air-to-air combat capability. It was derived from the basic A-7 originally developed by LTV for the U.S. Navy. The first A-7 D made its initial flight on April 5, 1968 and deliveries of production models began on Dec. 23, 1968. When A-7D production ended in 1976, 459 had been delivered to the USAF. In 1973, the USAF began assigning A-7Ds to the Air National Guard (ANG), and by 1987 they were being flown by ANG units in ten states and Puerto Rico. The A-7D demonstrated its outstanding capability to attack ground targets while flown by the 354th Tactical Fighter Wing at Korat RTAFB, Thailand, during the closing months of the war in Southeast Asia. The Corsair II achieved its excellent accuracy with the aid of an automatic electronic navigation and weapon delivery system. Span: 38 ft. 8 in. Length: 46 ft. 1 in. Height: 16 ft. 1 in. The P-51 project began in 1940.
It took only 120 days from the British request for development to the completion of the prototype aircraft production and assembly. The Royal Air Force referred to the new aircraft as the "Mustang".
In December 1943, the P-51B joined the British station in England. The 354th Fighter Wing of the 9th Army of the United States Marine Corps began its legendary service career. At the same time, another part of the P-51B was assigned to the 12th and 15th Army Aviation Corps in Italy.
Before the P-51D officially enters service, the P-51B has been one of the main models of the American Army Aviation in the European battlefield. Part of the aviation team even kept equipped with this type of aircraft until the end of the war.
During the entire war, the missions performed by the Type B fighters accounted for 1/3 of the missions performed by the entire P-51 family.
