Easy to Use
Mix together equal parts of each stick from the pack. Knead and roll thoroughly for at least 5 minutes until the colours mix together and become uniform with no streaks. Then, to be extra sure, mix for another minute. The surfaces to which the putty is applied should be free from any contaminants such as grease, oils or dirt. Abrading the surface will improve adhesion and bond strength. After application, the putty will set hard in around 3–4 hours.
At some stages before curing a finger moistened with water can smooth off the surface of milliput however avoid mixing water into the milliput. Tools should be cleaned immediately with a wet cloth. Milliput will be near impossible to remove from tools once cured
Milliput may cause irritation to sensitive skins. We recommend using rubber gloves when mixing the two components. If in contact with skin, clean using running water. If the hands have been used for mixing or manipulating Milliput wash them immediately with toilet soap and warm water. Milliput should be stored in a cool place.
Shelf life
Milliput has a usual shelf life of about 2 years, although in reality it is workable for much longer. We have used Milliput even after 5 years. If the sticks seem solid they can be warmed up on a hot radiator before use, bringing the product back to life after cold storage.
We recommend that Milliput is stored in cool, dry conditions and that the polythene bags are securely sealed after use. If the polythene bags are damaged, you can use shrink wrap.
Special Instructions for Superfine White Milliput: We recommend thoroughly mixing the white for approx 5 minutes, as the two part sticks are nearly the same colour, this will ensure a good mix
