At the core of these units were squads consisting of no more than twelve soldiers. The most recognizable uniform worn by U.S. troops during WWII was the M1941 field jacket, based on a civilian jacket design, and the M1943 field jacket (modified version of the M1941). Featuring four large pockets, the M1943 was developed in order to standardize military uniform and was supplied to soldiers from late 1943. However, due to production delays, the M1941 continued to be used widely by many troops. Due to the need for high mobility, the M10 wore relatively thin armor plating. However, auxiliary armor could be added easily using the bolts located on the turret and hull. The Panther G Developed as a countermeasure to the Soviet T-34, the German Panther tank was produced from 1943 until the end of the war and served alongside the Panzer III, IV and Tiger tanks. The Panther tank featured sloped armor, powerful 700hp Maybach engine and a turret placed far back on the hull mounting a 75mm L/70 cannon. The main gun was even more devastating than its size of 75mm would suggest, due to the large propellant charge and long barrel with high muzzle velocity. Many consider the Panther every bit as effective as the Tiger I, but easier to produce and maintain. The Ausf.G included versions with heater unit installed over the left engine fan, and with lower lip piece added to mantlet to eliminate shot trap. Tamiya just doesnt stop releasing new items for the 1/48 MM Series. We now offer modelers the Panther Type G, widely considered one of the most effective German tanks of WWII. About Russian Tank Infantry While sustaining huge losses at the onset of Operation Barbarossa, the Russian army was able to halt the German advance just short of Moscow thanks largely to the strength of their tank troops. Following concentrated artillery fire, tanks advanced in three waves with infantry riding on the tanks of the second and third. Since the Russian ground forces did not possess armored troop carriers like half-tracks and universal carriers, so-called 'Motor Rifle Units" were attached to every tank brigade to provide infantry support. Once encountering an enemy's defensive position, tank riders would disembark, attack the position, and then remount to proceed with the offensive. These infantrymen spearheaded many attacks, and suffered heavy casualties from defending fire.

TAMIYA
Tamiya 32528 1/48 British C... $34.95
One of the most successful tanks fielded by the British in WWII, the Cromwell compared favorably with tanks of similar weight such as the Sherman and Panzer IV. Most were armed with the 75mm Q.F. Mk.V/VA, which was based on the 6 Pdr. but chambered to fire American ammunition. This was a very good dual-purpose gun, able to destroy enemy anti-tank guns at long range, or penetrate the frontal armor of a Panzer IV at normal battle ranges. However it was less effective against German heavy tanks. The Cromwell first saw action during the Normandy campaign, where it was at a disadvantage as it could not use its superior speed and agility, but this changed after the fighting moved to open country. Cromwell tanks made some spectacular advances in their pursuit of the Germans across Northern France, Belgium and Holland. The Cromwell served again in Korea and was finally retired in the late 1950's. Features Compact and detailed 1/48 assembly kit of the British Cromwell Mk.IV cruiser tank. Length: 140mm、Distinguishing features such as large rivets on turret and perpendicular hull armor accurately reproduced. Shape of large diameter wheels, that allowed high speed running, are also faithfully depicted. Exterior details are included as separately-molded parts to enhance realism. Die-cast chassis for added weight and realism. Tank treads are assembly type, with one-piece upper and lower tread sections featuring realistic sag effect. Kit features optional rear cowling that prevented exhaust gas from getting into driver's compartment. Includes 3 types of markings.

As Britain struggled to develop tanks capable of equaling the superior German Panzers, the decision was made to convert existing stocks of M4 Sherman tanks, delivered to the UK as part of the Lend-Lease Act. The so-called Sherman Firefly featured a long-barreled 17 pdr. anti-tank gun, that was much more effective than the original 75mm gun, capable of penetrating a Tiger I's frontal armor at over 1,000 meters using regular ammunition. The majority of Fireflies were adapted from M4A4 tanks, designated Sherman V by the British, while some were made using the earlier M4, or Sherman I in British usage. Vehicles rearmed with a 17 pdr. gun were given the suffix C, with the resulting units being Sherman VC and Sherman IC. Features Detailed 1/48 assembly model kit of the British Sherman IC Firefly. Unique Welded Gun MantleOf the many assault guns utilized by the Germans in WWII, the most numerous was the Sturmgeschütz III. Based on the durable Pz.Kpfw. III chassis with a completely new superstructure, the revolving turret was eliminated and the short barreled 75mm L/24 gun was mounted directly onto the hull, giving the StuG III an extremely low vehicle profile. Originally intended for close infantry fire support, it was used as self-propelled artillery against enemy strong points. However, when the German forces encountered the Russian KV-I and T-34 tanks on the Eastern front, the situation abruptly changed. To cope with this Russian tank threat, the Germans were forced to upgrade their existing weapons systems. The resulting StuG III Ausf.G, built from late 1942 onwards, used a more powerful, long barreled 75mm L/48 gun.Features Assembly model of the Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.G Early Version in a compact 1/48 scale. In the 1930's, a British mission observed the field maneuvers of the Russian army and were impressed by the performance of some of their tanks, which were influenced by the designs of American Walter Christie. The British decided to develop their own fast "cruiser" tank for their army and their efforts eventually resulted in the Crusader. When it entered operational service in 1941 as part of Operation Battle axe in North Africa, the Crusader was found to be faster than its German counterparts, but had a less powerful gun, thinner armor, and was less reliable. Nevertheless, it served well as a battle tank until replaced by newer designs. Features 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 132mm. Differences in turret details between the two variants such as machine gun turret and front panel are meticulously replicated. Realistic depictions of hex bolts. Die-cast chassis for added weight and realism. Assembly type tracks feature straight sections. Upper section has realistic sag effect. 5 types of markings are included.
