The legendary Skyline GT-R was first recreated in 1969 and took countless touring car race victories; the name was sorely missed as it disappeared from models after 1973, returning to great acclaim some 16 years later in Spring 1989. Also known as the R32, this iteration of the Skyline GT-R had a 280hp inline-six DOHC twin turbo engine combined with a torque-split four-wheel drive system, the Super HICAS four-wheel steering setup, and multilink suspension: top end technology for its day. Retaining the two-door coupe form, it sported blister fenders and a front bumper with yawning air intakes, as well as a rear wing. It went on to dominate Group A races, recording an astonishing 29 consecutive wins in Japanese Touring Car Championship races between 1990 and 1993.

October 1991 saw the debut of this third generation (FD3S) model of the RX-7 rotary engine sports car. From the aluminum bonnet to the thin panes used on the windows, the car was designed for lightness; power was provided by the 13B-REW two-rotor engine with sequential twin turbochargers, rated at a striking 255hp. Even the four wheel double wishbone suspension was light, with liberal use of aluminum. A front midship layout was selected with an eye on balance, and the PPF (powerplant frame) between the transmission and differential boosted rigidity: the result was extremely direct driving feel, and this stunning sports car remains beloved by a legion of fans even in the modern day.

Toyota had been a familiar maker on the scene at global rallies since the 1970s, and in 1992 their entrant was the Celica GT-FOUR (ST185), a highly capable car based around a 299hp 2-liter inline-four turbocharged engine and employing front and rear limited slip differentials with a hydraulic center differential. Like the road car it also employed MacPherson strut suspension, albeit lightened by the use of aluminum in strut cases and upper sections, and titanium in the stabilizer. In 1993 the car had a new livery in the colors of its sponsor Castrol, and in the first rally of the season in Monte-Carlo, driver D. Auriol overturned a 71-second deficit to take overall victory, a triumph that set the tone for Toyota's season as teammate J. Kankkunen became champion driver and Toyota the champion manufacturer.

This model kit recreates the Morris Mini Cooper Racing. The version available now (2026 production lot) is an updated version as it includes updated decals, instruction manual, and packaging.
The Morris Mini was introduced in October 1959 and was a departure from automotive designs of that era. By using a 2-box styling, they produced a four-seat compact car about 3 meters in length that used a front engine, front wheel drive layout. It initially had an 848cc, 34hp engine, which allowed a speed of 115km/h. This outstanding design provided room for four large adults to be seated comfortably. Its patented “Hydrolastic” four-wheel independent suspension system, introduced in 1964 to replace the earlier very compact rubber cone system, was another excellent innovation. This superbly balanced car also performed well on racing circuits, and John Cooper of British racing fame, enhanced the engine and introduced it as the Morris Mini Cooper. A series of modifications began in 1961 using a 997cc engine followed by a 998cc engine in the Cooper, then a 1,071cc, 67.5hp Cooper S in 1963; in 1964 the popular 1275cc, 75hp car came out, along with a special 970cc racing version. Competition versions of the 1275S and 970S were often known as “Works Minis”, the 1275S being changed to have a 1,293cc powerplant, which filled the 1,300cc class requirement, and put out 91hp. The racing Mini proved its potential by dominating races held in 1964 and 1965. It won the 1967 1,300cc class title in the British Saloon Car Championship (BSCC), the 1968 European Touring Car Championship, and again clinched the BSCC title that same year. With its track and rally successes, the Mini Cooper is a true motorsports gem.

January 1995 saw the announcement at the Tokyo Motor Show of the R33, then the newest evolution of Nissan's famed Skyline GT-R. Its 2.6-liter 280hp RB26DETT inline-6 twin turbo engine was a carryover from previous models, but had improvements to the computer control, turbo compression and efficiency of air flow. The V-SPEC car was even further refined, with an active limited slip differential effect and the ATTESA E-TS PRO all-wheel drive system. The Porsche 911 GT1 debuted in 1996 and was designed to compete in top level endurance races, with a wide and low silhouette that was honed in wind tunnels and featured design cues such as a roof air intake, bulging fenders and a downforce-boosting rear diffuser. While the head- and taillights still bore resemblance to the 911 production car, it is no exaggeration to say that this was a highly modified, pure racing version of the car: the chassis rear was redeveloped into a space frame, and a 3,166cc flat-six engine was stowed midships; a pair of turbochargers combined to give an awesome output of 640hp. One of the most prestigious and grueling racing events held in the world is the "Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Race". It has brought excitement and pleasure to motorsports enthusiasts worldwide, ever since it was first held in 1923. In 1997 Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Entered their latest Nissan R390 GT1 which was developed to vie for this renowned racing event.
The R390 GT1 took its name from a car, R380, that excited Japanese motor sports enthusiasts over thirty years ago. Jointly developed by Nissan and TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing), the R390 GT1 is the state of the art racing expertise of them. Aerodynamically refined low and sleek body styling is suggestive of Nissan's highly competitive Gr. C machines raced during the 1980's. The 3.5 liter V8 engine, producing an awesome 600 horsepower output, is bolted directly to the carbon composite monocoque and works as a load-carrying element. The tremendous power is delivered to the rear wheels via a transversely mounted, six speed transmission. The four wheel double wishbone suspension system is connected to the horizontally mounted shock absorbers via pushrods and bell cranks to provide optimum road handling performance.
Three R390 GT1's were entered in to the 1997 Le Mans event and, among them, the car No. 21 achieved a pole position in the pre-qualifying race. Although the overall result was rather discouraging, the R390's outstanding performance, displayed during the early stage of the race, was something to behold and promising for the year to come.

During the 1960's, the Japanese racing scene was striving to catch up with high performance racing machines of European origin. One manufacturer called Prince developed the first Japanese prototype racing machine, named the R380.
With a powerful-in-line six-cylinder DOHC engine mounted amidships under a low and sleek body, the R380 won the 1996 Japanese Grand Prix race event and earned various world speed records in the following year. The PRINCE company merged with Nissan and unveiled a special 4-door sedan Skyline model during the 1968 Tokyo Motor Show. Priced at almost double that of other Skylines in the stable, it was transplanted with a de-tuned powerplant of the R380 racer's unit. This hot-blooded Skyline was launched into the market in February 1969, under the designation of GT-R. The 1,989cc DOHC 6-cylinder S20 type engine yielded 160hp of maximum output. In October 1970, the original 4-door sedan GT-R was replaced with a sportier, 2-door hard-top model.
Its designation "R" stood for racing, the Skyline GT-R virtually dominated Japanese racing circuits from the late 60's to early 70's. The 4-door and 2-door Skyline 2000 GT-Rs accomplished 50 respectable victories in domestic races during that period, setting up the famous "GT-R legend" among the Japanese motor racing enthusiasts.

Subaru introduced 4WD sedan Legacy into the 3rd Safari Rally as WRC in 1990. Then Subaru sent new compact machine, Impreza instead of Legacy into 1000 Lakes Rally from 1993. The machine was modified many times as a World rally car because it had a wide range of modifying regulation compared with group A.
Subaru became one of the top contenders in no time. The redesigned Volkswagen New Beetle was revealed at the 1998 Detroit Auto Show. The New Beetle was different from its predecessor, but the familiar shape remains. The original Beetle goes back to Germany, 1938.
The car's features included a cute, rounded style exterior; adequate power supplied by a horizontal, air-cooled, 4-cylinder engine and a simple, practical interior. In America, the Beetle appeared in various roles from racing to custom cars. This new model, recently revealed to the public, was the topic of much attention, and eventually became the familiar icon it is today. From 1969 through to the early 1970s, the Skyline GT-R achieved an unbelievable streak of fifty proud in a row in the Japanese Touring Car Race. Sixteen years later, its successful name was passed on to the R32 type, which was developed as a base machine for Group-A races. To take full advantage of its powerful 2.6l, 6-cylinder twin turbo engine, it was equipped with a 4WD system, which provided unrivaled race performance. 1995 saw the larger body and refined mechanics of the R33. In 1999, the technology cultivated over a long racing history was unsparingly poured into the new R34 type, developed with "ultimate driving pleasure" in mind. The R34 features a smaller body and a sturdier structure, with ample consideration to its aerodynamics. The adjustable two-level rear spoiler as well as a front and rear diffuser (V-spec), regulate the flow of air under the chassis, heightening control.
