Following Israel's declaration of independence in 1948, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) chose the M4 Sherman as its first mainstay tank. In the mid-1950s, the IDF purchased a sizable number of M4A1 Shermans, which were armed with the 76.2mm M1 gun, to counter Arab armies' T-34-85s. These tanks were designated M1 Super Sherman according to their armament in order to distinguish them from earlier variants equipped with 75mm guns. Many featured curved cast hulls, air-cooled radial gasoline engines, and Vertical Volute Spring Suspension (VVSS). They first saw action when the Suez Crisis broke out on October 29, 1956, and some soldiered on until the 1970s. Features 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit of the M1 Super Sherman. 1/24 Scale Mastercard Savanna RX-7 Tamiya welcomes an updated re-issue of Item 24016 1/24 Mazda Savanna RX-7 (originally sold in 1981: motorized at that time) with changed C Parts molding color (changed from black to brown), updated decals, instruction manual and packaging, plus newly-included masking stickers. The Mazda Savanna RX-7 made its debut in 1978, and the car featured sleek lines on its lightweight monocoque body with low-profile nose and retractable headlights. As WWII progressed and German forces lost their air superiority amid fierce Allied raids in the sky, Germany looked to bolster ground to air defense with the development of self propelled anti-aircraft guns based upon tanks and half-track vehicles. The 8ton half-track (Sd.Kfz.7/2) was one of those such weapons. The half-track chassis employed had a proven track record towing 88mm guns, but was now fitted with its own 3.7cm anti-aircraft cannon that could fire 160 rounds per minute. Produced from 1943, later variants were also fitted with armor on the driver seat and radiator. Features This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 200mm, width: 70mm. First delivered to units in July 1940, the Pak 38 5cm was a successor to the 3.7cm Pak 36. It featured design upgrades such as a muzzle brake, aluminum alloy trail legs, and a gun shield composed of two sheets of 4mm plate; using Panzergranate 39 shells it defeated 61mm of 60-degree armor from 500 meters. First deployed in the Balkan theater in Spring 1941, the Pak 38 saw action in areas from the Eastern Front to North Africa and 9,600 of this trusty weapon were manufactured up to 1943. At the start of WWII, German forces used 3.7cm Pak36 as their main anti-tank gun. The 5cm anti-tank gun Pak38 was developed as the Pak36’s successor and the actual deployment started in July 1940. The Pak38 featured a gun barrel with muzzle brake, a gun mount with torsion bar suspension and aluminum-alloy trail legs, and its gun shield was composed of two 4mm thick armor plates at a 25mm interval. This anti-tank gun had the power to pierce 60-degree, 61 mm-thick armor from 500 meters using Panzergranate 39 shells. Pak38 saw its first action in the Balkan Theater and Operation Barbarossa in 1941. Although the Pak38 could not easily beat the Soviet T34 and KV-1, it helped the army through crisis several times and was essential at the North African Front. About 9,600 units were produced until 1943 and were employed in Infantry Regiments until the end of war. The Sherman tank was a staple of the Allied effort in WWII, with a total of about 50,000 vehicles produced, among which were a host of different variants such as the M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer, a variant used in fire support. The M4 hull featured rolled steel plates, and it employed a 9-cylinder air-cooled radial engine in the rear which powered the front sprockets via a 5-speed transmission with reverse; the 105mm gun fired howitzer rounds, smoke rounds and incendiary ammunition. The late production vehicle had horizontal vertical spring suspension (HVSS) and 840 units were produced, providing infantry support and taking part in assaults on enemy strongpoints from Europe to the Pacific Theater. Controlled Differential Steering System In WWII, the average tracked vehicle used a clutch brake system, whereby the sprocket on the turning side was braked to create a difference in speed between the tracks and let the vehicle turn. While it did enable pivot turns on the spot by completely stopping one track, it required considerable skill to operate, not to mention the fact that it experienced mechanical power loss and a tendency to overheat the brakes. On the other hand, the M4 Sherman used a controlled differential system that braked a sprocket wheel via a differential gear: as the turning side track slowed, the other track sped up, leading to smooth turns and in one fell swoop both minimizing mechanical loss and negating brake overheating issues. This system was also employed on the M24, the M8, and the M2 high speed tractor, vehicles which all contributed to the eventual success of the Allied WWII campaign. Features This is a 1/16 scale R/C model assembly kit. Just like the actual tank, the model uses a controlled differential steering system. Metal components are used for drive sprockets, suspension arms and idler wheel bases. The horizontal vertical spring suspension (HVSS) uses metal coil springs. When the tracks rotate at the same speed the model moves in a straight line, turning as the track speeds differ: transmitter commands cause servo movement, which in turn slows the turning side track via one of the brake discs in the differential. During WWII, U.S. forces developed the M10 tank destroyer with 76.2mm gun, but it was not effective against powerful German tanks such as the Tiger and Panther. Perched upon the M10A1 chassis equipped with a 450hp gasoline engine, the M36 employed a new open top turret and a 90mm gun. The M36 saw its first action on the Franco-German border in October 1944 and continued until the German surrender in May 1945. Over 1,000 M36s were deployed among 21 battalions and contributed to the Allied forces’ advance. This model assembly kit recreates the U.S. Tank Destroyer M36. The subject was first released in 1968 as a motorized single motor kit. It’s now been recreated from the ground up with new tooling, except for the M2 machine gun and clear parts used in other Tamiya WW2 kits that use these newer parts. About the Golf II 16V The FF drivetrain Golf is one of Volkswagen’s most iconic cars. From its first appearance in 1974, Volkswagen Golf continued to develop and lead the worldwide compact car class. In 1986, the Golf II GTI 16V was added to the second-generation model Golf II line up which had made its debut in 1983. With a 1,781cc inline-4 DOHC 16-valve engine, a tuned car took part in global rally races, and in the U.S. became a fan favourite hatchback of the 1980s era. The MB-01 Chassis The compact, 2WD MB-01 chassis gives a choice of three types of wheelbases, and a front- or rear- wheel drive system. Without removing battery pack, motor, and R/C equipment setups from the centre frame, simply change attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage to switch between front- and rear-wheel drive; low or high motor position can be chosen for rear-wheel drive cars. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features symmetrical structure and friction dampers. About the Peugeot Based upon the FF hatchback Peugeot 306, the Peugeot 306 Maxi was developed with dedicated components for rallying. A 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine in front was capable of 280hp, and the car had enlarged fenders, roof spoiler, and a lightened body. Including the victories in 1996 and 1997 rally races in France, this car achieved many racing successes such as the class championship in the 1996 rally in Monte Carlo and third place in the 5th and 6th races on the 1997 global rally circuit. This 1/24 scale model assembly kit recreates the all-new 2025 HONDA Prelude. It was first teased at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show as a concept car but finally unveiled as a final product at the Tokyo Auto Salon in April 2025. The 2025 Prelude marks the sixth-generation iteration and makes a comeback after the fifth generation was last sold in 2001.
