Tamiya 61108 1/48 A6M3/3A Zero
$55.95
Following the Zero Model 21 (A6M2), which achieved overwhelming victories against Allied forces in the first half of Pacific War, the summer 1942 saw the introduction of the Model 32 (A6M3) which was powered by a Sakae 21 engine and an 11m wingspan with clipped wingtips. Although top speed increased, its range reduced drastically, therefore the Model 22 (A6M3) was rushed into development in order to correct the Model 32's shortcomings. Overall performance improved as the 12m wingspan and folding wingtips were reintroduced to regain maneuverability and new wing fuel tanks restored range to 2,560km. The Model 22 (A6M3a) which was fitted with long-barreled cannons was also put into production. Deployed mainly to the Solomon Islands from early 1943, Zeroes had fierce battles against U.S. fighters.
1/48 scale plastic assembly model kit of the Mitsubishi A6M3 Model 22 Zero.Length: 190mm, Wingspan: 250mm Well-balanced form of the aircraft has been beautifully reproduced. Photo-etched parts depict the folded wingtip mechanism. The A6M3a which was armed with long-barreled cannons can also be assembled. Tamiya 61095 1/48 Focke-Wul...
$39.95
In 1944, as the U.S. began their long range strategic bombing campaign in earnest with heavily-armed B-17 and B-24 bombers, the Luftwaffe developed the specialized "bomber-killer" R2 variant of the Fw190 A-8. Tamiya now brings you this formidable fighter in the 1/48 scale, and with all the parts included in this kit you can choose to build either the R2 variant or the A-8.The Focke-Wulf Fw190 was one of the Luftwaffe's best front-line fighters of WWII. Of all the different variants, the A-8 armed with four 20mm cannon and two 13mm machine guns was the most widely produced. A sub-variant of the A-8 was the R2, which had two of the 20mm cannons replaced by more powerful 30mm guns and added armor protection for its role in attacking the giant 4-engined Allied bombers.

Moving Right Along
This set combines the F4U-1D Corsair with a "Moto-Tug", a little tractor which was used to position aircraft around the decks of Navy carriers during WWII. They are ideal as a small vignette on their own or as part of a larger diorama.
Fast and heavily armed, the Corsair dominated opposing Japanese aircraft in the latter half of WWII. Following the initial F4U-1 and F4U-1A variants which were flown from land bases by the U.S. Marine Corps, the F4U-1D introduced in April 1944 was the first official carrier-capable version. It had a raised pilot seat position, bubble canopy and broader propeller blades. In addition to its six 12.7mm machine guns, it had two additional pylons on the inner wings as well as the ability to carry eight rockets on the outer wings. The type was used as a fighter-bomber in attacks against the Japanese home islands from February 1945.
WWII U.S. aircraft carriers, from the large fleet carriers down to escort carriers, had many of these little tractors to increase the efficiency of flight deck operations. Powered by a 45hp engine, it was capable of pulling approximately 1.8 tons.
Features
(Corsair Dimensions) Length: 205mm, Wingspan (Extended): 236mm; ("Moto-Tug" Dimensions) Length: 62mm, Width: 29mm
Distinctive features of the F4U-1D variant such as the higher pilot position and broader propeller blades have been accurately reproduced.

$27.95
This is Tamiya’s 1/72 scale plastic model of the Vought F4U-1A Corsair. While the maneuverability and power of the F4U-1 fighter were adequate, limited all-round visibility resulting from the early frame-like canopy, and the tendency for the left and right wings to stall at different speeds indicated the need for improvements resulting in the new F4U -1A. The improvements included the implementation of a new bubble canopy for better all-around visibility, a longer rear wheel leg for better forward visibility, and an almost hardly evident 15cm strip attached to the leading edge of the right wing to ensure that both wings decelerate in the same way. The completed model is 14.1cm long and 17.3cm wide.

Aerial Armor
The Ilyushin Il-2 Shuturmovik was the Russian military's main ground-attack aircraft during WWII. It was so important to the Russian war effort that Joseph Stalin personally intervened to ensure a high rate of its production. Over 36,000 examples were built by the end of the war, making it the most produced military aircraft in aviation history. The aircraft was characterized by armor that was integrated into its airframe to provide protection for vital areas such as the cockpit, engine, and fuel tank. Production of the single-seat version of the Il-2 began in March 1941 but severe losses led to the development of a two-seat version with a rear gunner. A version which featured outer wing sections swept back at 15-degrees for a better center of gravity was introduced in late-1943. Together with the T-34 tank, the Il-2 contributed greatly to the eventual Russian victory.

$213.95
Over the past three years our 1/32 Scale Aircraft Series has gained a growing selection of modern military aircraft models, including the F-4 Phantom II, F-14 Tomcat and F-15 Eagle. Tamiya now proudly adds the F-16 Fighting Falcon to this distinguished lineup, offering our most detailed ever 1/32 scale aircraft model, and setting whole new standards in large-scale aircraft modeling.
Regarded as one of the world's leading jet fighters, the F-16 Fighting Falcon is currently employed by more than 20 countries, and has served in actual combat since the 1980's. The F-16CJ Block 50 variant is the newest F-16 currently being deployed to U.S. units. Major upgrades to the Block 50 included a more powerful turbo General Electric engine, AGM-88 HARM (High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile) and targeting system. The F-16CJ is used for "Wild Weasel" SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defense) missions, which include searching out and destroying radar and missile sites.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon model maintains the ease of assembly featured by all of the models in our 1/32 Scale Aircraft Series, and boasts the high level of detail and accuracy for which Tamiya is known around the world. This model has given our designers the opportunity to incorporate a number of modeling ideas and innovations that would not have been possible on a smaller 1/48 or 1/72 scale.
This is the first ever 1/32 scale F-16 model to replicate the characteristic large air intake duct, nicknamed "Big Mouth". The F110-GE-129 jet engine is also replicated in precise detail, and can slide into place on a hook and rail system exactly like the actual aircraft. The entire engine can also be displayed outside the aircraft using the included cart.
This model achieves a level of accuracy only possible in such a large-scale work. The upper surfaces of the wings are molded to the main body of the plane in one single piece, creating a "Blended Body" which artfully depicts the F-16's beautiful, streamlined form and proportions. The model features screw-mounted main body and die-cast landing gears with actual rubber tires for extra durability.
This model makes use of the newly developed mini poly caps to ensure that missiles, ECM pod and external fuel tanks are removable and interchangeable even after assembly. This way, modelers can enjoy depicting different weapon configurations specific to various F-16 missions. Use of poly caps also enables trailing edge flaps, horizontal stabilizer fins and vertical tail fin flaps to move freely after assembly.
Pitot tube and static dischargers are reproduced using metal parts, and photo-etched parts are used for seat buckles, radar antenna, chaff/flare dispensers and name-plate adding to the models realism and display value. This same painstaking attention to detail led us to include an ejector seat fitted with a moveable slide rail, just like the actual aircraft. Curved bubbletop canopy features choice of clear or smoked canopy, and can be assembled in the open or closed position. 1 detailed pilot figure is also included. Gun hatch and nose cone can be opened after assembly to display machine gun and radar system respectively and metal weight has been added to nose for accurate front-rear weight distribution. Featuring decals to produce up to 4 different versions, including tiger design used during "Tiger Meets" and markings for F-16s who flew SEAD missions over Iraq, the list of fantastic features is truly endless. We guarantee that even the most fanatical aviation fan will be truly satisfied.
Features
Detailed F-110-GE-129 jet engine can be removed from housing even after assembly. Kit includes special dolly for easy display.
Missiles are installed using poly caps, allowing them to be removed and used interchangeably.
Landing gear made from die-cast metal for extra durability. Photo-etched parts ensure high level of detail.
Moveable ejection seat is fixed to a slide rail, just like the actual aircraft.

A Case of a Good Bubble
The legendary Supermarine Spitfire is often credited with saving England during WWII. Among its many variants was the Mk.XVI, which was a Mk.IX airframe that was powered by a Merlin 266 engine license-built by Packard Motor Car Company in the United States. Most Mk.XVIs featured the larger rudder and E Type wing with two 20mm cannons and two 12.7mm machine guns. With the introduction of the teardrop canopy, the rear upper fuel tank capacity was reduced to 33 gal. and that of the forward lower fuel tank was increased to 48 gal. to compensate. 1,054 Mk.XVIs produced were from September 1944 until July 1945. During the war, they were deployed on the European front and served as fighter-bombers. In the post-war period, the Mk.XVI was used by the RAF as well as the Belgian and Greek air forces until the early-1950s.
The Supermarine Spitfire was designed by R.J. Mitchell and its distinctive silhouette makes it one of the most widely-recognized fighters of WWII. Famous for its exploits during the Battle of Britain, the Spitfire continued to evolve to counter newer Axis aircraft. As a result of this evolution, numerous variants of the Spitfire were born and served with distinction in the RAF as well as the air forces of many other countries until well after the end of WWII.
The Spitfre Mk.XVI was almost identical to the Mk.IX in nearly all aspects except that most were powered by a Packard-built Merlin 266 engine which had taller dimensions than the Rolls Royce 66 engine and featured a bubble canopy with a “low back” fuselage. Other new structural changes saw the Mk.XVI equipped with a larger 96 gallon main fuel tank, as well as two additional fuel tanks installed at the rear of the fuselage and a larger oil sump to allow it to flylonger distances. Mk.XVIes were mainly used in ground-attack roles and came with the “E” armament configuration of two 20mm cannons and two 12.7mm Browning machine guns. Also, as concrete tarmacs became more common as the war progressed, changes to the camber angle of the Spitfire’s landing gears were made to make for more efficient landings and take-offs. With the changes made to the new gun and cannon positioning, ammunition ejection ports, and the landing gear design, the wings featured new bulges compared to the Mk.IX. The Mk.XVIe, served with distinction throughout Europe for the latter half of the war.
