Tamiya 35120 1/35 US M48A3 ...
$30.95
Design of the M48 series of medium tanks commenced in October 1950, with the Chrysler Corporation commissioned to do the design work and provide six prototypes. Due to the Korean war, production of the M48 was authorized prior to the completion of any prototype or testing. Ford and General Motors were awarded production contracts, in addition to Chrysler, and the first M48 was delivered in early 1953. Numerous technical problems with the new tank delayed its deployment in significant numbers until 1958. There are numerous variations and modifications of the M48 in existence all over the world today, and this kit depicts an M48A3 "Patton" as it appeared during the Vietnam conflict when employed by the U.S. Forces. Using a cast elliptical hull which has high structural rigidity and excellent ballistic protection, this 47.5 ton tank has proven its worth in the field of combat against like opposition. The major improvement of the M48 over the M47 was the superior shape of the "Turtleback" cast steel turret, which provided a greater internal volume and much better ballistic protection. Armed with a 90mm M41 gun and on 7.62 coaxial machine gun and a 12.7 machine gun in the commanders cupola, and powered by a Continental V-12 AV-1790 petrol engine of 865 hp, this fine tank has a top road speed of 48 km/h. It is crewed by a Commander, Gunner, Radio operator/loader and a driver. The M48 series of medium tanks is or has been used by a great number of nations around the world, and is expected to remain a first line battle tank for many years to come.
The A3 series of the M-48 was the first to introduce the new AVDS-1970-2 diesel engine, which was a major improvement, and since its introduction many of the earlier Pattons have also been retrofitted with it. When used in Vietnam, secondary armament was often boosted by adding a .50 calibre machine gun above the cupola; a 7.62mm machine gun in front of the loaders hatch, and another 7.62mm MG in the mantlet in lieu of the telescopic sight. Early in its production the M-48 was fitted with a snorkeling kit which enables it to fork water obstacles up to 4.1 meters in depth. The M-48A3 uses a coincidence-type range finder for sighting its main 90mm gun. Range data from this sight is fed into a ballistic computer for very accurate and speedy target acquisition. Maximum road speed of the M-48A3 was 48km/h. Maximum range was 460 km, and the maximum road gradient was 60%. The A3 carried 62 rounds of 90mm ammunition, and up to 5900 rounds for the 7.62 MG's. The A-3 model can be seen with either 3 or 5 wheel track bogies, and the majority used in Vietnam had five bogies, due to the jungle type of terrain encountered. Tank crew members often built up the sides of the turret with extra padding and equipment for additional protection from hostile fire. A great many of the existing M-48 tanks around the world are now being up graded to M-60 standards with the addition of the 105mm gun in place of the 90mm main unit.
This is a 1/35 scale plastic model kit of the American M48A3 Patton tank, which served with distinction during the Vietnam War.
Features
The tough appearance of the tank, including its cast metal surface texture and canvas section of the gun mantlet is accurately reproduced.
Details such as the searchlight and machine gun cupola are also brimming with realism.
The kit includes accessory parts such as an engine exhaust snorkel, jerry cans, and spare track links as well as 2 tank crew figures.

Old Tank, New Gun
During the 1960s, the Israeli Defense Forces upgraded their M4A1 Sherman tanks by equipping them with the powerful French 105mm CN-105-F1 tank gun and they were redesignated as M51s. This is Tamiya 1/35 Military Miniature German Kubelwagen Type 82 Africa Corps Scale Model Kit. In February of 1936, Dr. Ferdinand Porsche designed a civilian car for use on the German Autobahn. Surprisingly, almost none of these cars were made available to private citizens. The Wehrmacht began secretly appropriating these vehicles for military use. In January 1938, the Wehrmacht presented Dr. Porsche with the specifications for a military version. That November, the prototype was completed and designated the Pkw. K1 (VW-Kubelwagen). The Kubelwagen Type 82 was equipped with a lightweight monocoque body on a torsion bar spring based four wheel independent suspension. Its powerplant consisted of an air-cooled four cylinder 985cc engine, which outputted 23.5hp. Its tremendous performance led to its wide use as a communications vehicle by Wehrmacht units. Because of its reliability and ease of repair, and since its engine did not require a coolant, the Kubelwagen proved particulary effective in North Africa. At the request of various divisions in North Africa for a vehicle suitable for the desert, a Continental balloon tire equipped version went into production from 1942.
Two types of balloon tires, a grooved and an ungrooved version were used. Because the tires were wider than normal tires, a spacer to raise the height of a spare tire attachment was added to the hood of the car. Some of the balloon tire equipped Type 82 were even used in Italy after the fighting in North Africa stopped in May of 1943. Including variations, about 51,000 Kubelwagen Type 82 were produced by the end of the war.

Popularly known as the "Boxer" because of its air-cooled flat-four square 4-cylinder engine, the L2 H43 was developed by the Krupp company and mass produced from 1933. This truck was capable of both personnel and light-artillery transport and featured unique 6x4 independent suspension with 4-wheel drive and was capable of speeds up to 70km/h. In 1936, this truck had its horse-power improved from 55hp to 60hp with the development of the L2H431 version. This latter version underwent various improvements, particularly those allowing it to tow a 3.7mm PAK 35/36 anti-tank gun. After this improvement, the L2H431 came to be known as the Protze, and could hold 1 driver and 5 artillery crew. From the start of WWII the Protze was employed as standard equipment in anti-tank artillery divisions and was actively deployed to battlefronts in France and Poland.

$39.95
The first M1 tank was delivered to the U.S. Army in February 1980, and was officially named and christened the "Abrams" by the widow of the late General Creighton Abrams.
This new Abrams tank benefited from the latest technological wonders of the time, giving it enormous advantage on any battlefield. The turret, being very angular and squat, had a very roomy interior. This angular design was combined with Chobham armor for excellent protection against the kinetic energy from hollow charge projectiles. The hull sides and rear panels are vertical, with only the front angled to deflect anti-tank shots. The 1500 horsepower Avco-Lycoming AGT-1500 turbine engine provides remarkable speed and maneuverability plus being regarded as one of the quietest tank powerplants available today.
During the mid 1980's the M1 underwent an improvement program to upgrade the 105mm gun to the type M256 120mm smoothbore cannon. The armor at the frontal area of the lower hull front and turret was also increased, and it was given the new designation of "M1A1." Other improvements are seen in the enlarged rear turret bustle stowage rack, a new style crosswind sensor, a revised gunner's sight mount, plus reinforced suspension and transmission unit. Both the M1 and M1A1 Abrams were deployed during the Persian Gulf Conflict and they demonstrated outstanding performance and combat success.
Features
The massive, dynamic form of the tank has been realistically reproduced.
Details such as engine grille and welded sections on armour plates have rich finish.

$30.95
There is no better way to test the toughness of an automobile than by entering it in the World Rally Championship (WRC). Subaru understood this when they first entered the WRC back in 1990. In 1992, the Legacy was succeeded by the more compact Impreza, which was imbued with two years of tested technology. This sports sedan generated intense popularity among consumers looking for a street car with the guts of a WRC contender. In August 2000, a second generation of Impreza was born. One of the specially tuned versions of this car was the Impreza WRX STi (Subaru Tecnica International). Its 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine adopts a reinforced cylinder block, molybdenum coated steel pistons, high capacity turbo and intercooler. The power of the STi model was boosted to 280hp with 38kg-m maximum torque. This power was efficiently transmitted to the four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission, also developed by the STi team. The suspension adopts rally-proven 4-wheel struts, ensuring a smooth ride over all road conditions. Blister style over-fenders on the powerful four-door body and an enlarged air intake on the hood give the Impreza WRX STi a truly impressive appearance.

Tamiya 24210 1/24 Nissan Sk...
$29.95
From 1969 through to the early 1970s, the Skyline GT-R achieved an unbelievable streak of fifty proud in a row in the Japanese Touring Car Race. Sixteen years later, its successful name was passed on to the R32 type, which was developed as a base machine for Group-A races. To take full advantage of its powerful 2.6l, 6-cylinder twin turbo engine, it was equipped with a 4WD system, which provided unrivaled race performance. 1995 saw the larger body and refined mechanics of the R33. In 1999, the technology cultivated over a long racing history was unsparingly poured into the new R34 type, developed with "ultimate driving pleasure" in mind. The R34 features a smaller body and a sturdier structure, with ample consideration to its aerodynamics. The adjustable two-level rear spoiler as well as a front and rear diffuser (V-spec), regulate the flow of air under the chassis, heightening control. The R34's impressive speed is accounted for by a modification in valve timing and turbo-charging of the GETRAG 6-speed transmission controlled engine. Further refinements have been adopted such as an electronically controlled front/rear power distribution 4WD system and a multi-link suspension. Undergoing extensive testing in Japan, its driving performance was further improved in Germany, on the Nurburgring. Unrivaled speed and control have made the R34 version of the GT-R Nissan's, if not Japan's, index of quality.
