Tamiya 32591 1/48 Sturmtiger $35.95
Kicking Up a Sturm This rather rare WWII German AFV featured a fearsome 38cm rocket launcher mounted upon the proven Tiger I chassis, and was developed for use against heavily fortified enemy positions, against which it would fire 1.5m long, 350kg rocket-powered projectiles. In terms of survivability, too, the Sturmtiger's fighting compartment was well-equipped, with 15cm of frontal armor and 8cm on the sides. All told, a mere 18 examples were produced, between August and December 1944; they were deployed in occupied Poland, and even on German home soil as the conflict ground to its conclusion. Features This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit recreating the Sturmtiger. Length: 133mm, width: 78mm. The powerful form of the vehicle is accurately captured using an intuitive parts breakdown. Rifling detail has been molded into the barrel of the stubby main gun. Fighting compartment armor plate parts breakdown was based upon the weld lines of the actual vehicle. Main gun offers traverse, elevation and depression. Assembly-type tracks feature 1-piece straight sections. Comes with a full body figure depicting a soldier standing outside the vehicle. Weights are included for installation in the hull, giving a realistically heavy feel. Make this kit into a mini-diorama using the included figure depicting a soldier on his feet. Realistic assembly type depictions of the wide tracks utilize one-piece straight sections. Also going on sale separately is Item 12672, recreating Zimmerit anti magnetic mine surfaces. Also depicted is the fighting compartment-mounted crane for loading the massive 38cm projectiles. The 38cm mortar features internal rifling details, and has optional separate parts depicting counterweight. The menacing form with chunky fighting compartment and stubby 38cm mortar is artfully captured.

Tamiya 31615 1/700 Prince o... $34.95
The British Battleship Prince of Wales was the second ship of the King George V class. Soon after her completion in March 1941, she was involved in the historic hunt for the German battleship Bismarck. In October she was deployed to South-East Asia to fortify the important British post of Singapore. However, her short career of a mere 9 months came to a dramatic end when intercepted by Japanese bombers in what was to be known as the Battle of Malaya. Tamiya is proud to add the Prince of Wales as she stood during this historic naval battle to our high quality Water Line Series. Kit also features Japanese planes Type 96 "Nell" and Type 1 "Betty" attack bombers for a complete set to accurately recreate battle scene. On December 8, following the outbreak of the Pacific War, the Prince of Wales left Singapore after receiving intelligence that Japanese troops had begun to land in Malaya. The British Eastern Fleet under Admiral Philips, including the Prince of Wales, intended to meet the enemy at the Kuantan and attack a Japanese convoy. However, the intelligence was wrong and Kuantan was "as quiet as a rainy Sunday afternoon". On her way back to Singapore in the morning of December 10, the Prince of Wales was spotted by a Japanese scout plane. She was soon after attacked and badly damaged by Japanese Type 96 "Nell" and Type 1 "Betty" attack bombers. With her speed reduced, she came under waves of aircraft attacks, until she exploded and sunk stern first. Features Highly detailed 1/700 scale model of the Prince of Wales. Overall length: 322mm Fine detailed weapons, including 35.6cm L45 quadruple guns, dual-purpose 13.3cm twin guns and 40mm Pom-Pom guns. Kit includes 1/700 scale Type 96 "Nell" (3 units) and Type 1 "Betty" (4 units) Japanese bombers. Stand and base is included to depict Japanese fighter bombers in flight.

Carrying on the Fight With its combination of high speed and heavy armament, the Corsair was a formidable aircraft active in the latter half of WWII. As a versatile bird it had a number of variants, among them the F4U-1D, which was the first Corsair to be officially deployed on U.S. aircraft carriers. Features unique to the F4U-1D included a frame-less semi-bubble canopy, thicker propeller blade roots, a raised pilot's seat and more. Armament took the form of six 12.7mm machine guns mounted in the gull wing, with a pylon under each side of the root allowing it to carry two 1,000lb bombs or drop tanks. The outer wing could be fitted with 4 rockets on each side. The F4U-1D was an important presence on its carriers, joining attacks on the Japanese archipelago in February 1945 as U.S. forces advanced. This is the D variant of the popular Corsair World War II fighter plane. It uses new parts to recreate features specific to the F4U-1D, which was the first Corsair to be cleared for use on aircraft carriers. This fighter-bomber could carry drop tanks on new hard points under the wing root, and up to 8 rockets under the outer wing. It provided invaluable close support for ground troops during landings in places such as the Philippines and Okinawa, and continued to serve after WWII, in Korea. Outer wing sections had extended metal areas with mounts for eight rockets total. Cockpit floor window was scrapped. Features 1/32 scale plastic model assembly kit. Tamiya 35352 1/35 Infantry ... $55.95
NEW 2017 TOOL The Infantry Tank Mk III, Valentine, was the most numerous British-built tank of the Second World War, with over 8,000 built between 1940 and 1944. It was a rare example of a private venture tank design that was accepted for mass production. Although it was produced in large numbers, the Valentine was too lightly armoured to act as a true infantry tank. Most Valentines had a two-man turret, which reduced its efficiency in combat and was slower than most cruiser tanks. The Valentine tank was reliable and popular, and for a period in the middle of the Second World War was the main British tank. The Valentine entered service in the UK after the fall of France. It entered service with the Army Tank Brigades, where it was used as an infantry tank. During 1941 the number of new armoured divisions was outstripping the availability of cruiser tanks. To fill the gap the Valentine was issued to several divisions, and by October 1941 the 6th, 8th and 11th Armoured Divisions were equipped with the type, with 900 on strength. The 11th Armoured Division was reequipped with cruiser tanks before going into combat, but the 6th and 8th used their Valentines in combat.
