The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is one of the world's most popular Customer Racing cars. Nissan’s Skyline has been an ambassador for high performance Japanese cars for many a year. The Sherman tank was a staple of the Allied effort in WWII, with a total of about 50,000 vehicles produced, among which were a host of different variants such as the M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer, a variant used in fire support. The M4 hull featured rolled steel plates, and it employed a 9-cylinder air-cooled radial engine in the rear which powered the front sprockets via a 5-speed transmission with reverse; the 105mm gun fired howitzer rounds, smoke rounds and incendiary ammunition. The late production vehicle had horizontal vertical spring suspension (HVSS) and 840 units were produced, providing infantry support and taking part in assaults on enemy strongpoints from Europe to the Pacific Theater. Controlled Differential Steering System In WWII, the average tracked vehicle used a clutch brake system, whereby the sprocket on the turning side was braked to create a difference in speed between the tracks and let the vehicle turn. While it did enable pivot turns on the spot by completely stopping one track, it required considerable skill to operate, not to mention the fact that it experienced mechanical power loss and a tendency to overheat the brakes. On the other hand, the M4 Sherman used a controlled differential system that braked a sprocket wheel via a differential gear: as the turning side track slowed, the other track sped up, leading to smooth turns and in one fell swoop both minimizing mechanical loss and negating brake overheating issues. This system was also employed on the M24, the M8, and the M2 high speed tractor, vehicles which all contributed to the eventual success of the Allied WWII campaign. Metal components are used for drive sprockets, suspension arms and idler wheel bases. The horizontal vertical spring suspension (HVSS) uses metal coil springs. Pre-assembled plastic tracks use metal pins and connectors. Mechanical Steering System A differential gear transfers power from the Type 540 motor. When the tracks rotate at the same speed the model moves in a straight line, turning as the track speeds differ: transmitter commands cause servo movement, which in turn slows the turning side track via one of the brake discs in the differential. A Brave Warrior After the withdrawal from the Naval treaties, plans were laid to build Kagero-class warships. The Yukikaze was the 8th completed destroyer built of the Kagero-class in January 1940. The Yukikaze saw fierce action at Midway, Guadalcanal, Mariana Islands, Leyte Gulf, as well as serving in other battles throughout the Pacific Theater. Furthermore, she also served as a patrol ship and assisted in transportation duties. At the time of her completion, she initially came armed with three dual 12.7cm gun turrets and two quadruple 61cm torpedo launchers, but in the latter stages of the War, her armament was strengthened with a complement of AA guns as well as radar changing her beautiful silhouette into one safely of ferociousness. Even at the Ten-Ichi-Go operation in April 1945 where she fought hard alongside with the doomed Yamato, she was able to save many survivors and return to port. The Yukikaze survived WWII relatively undamaged she was therefore named "the Lucky Destroyer". After the war, she was used to ferry Japanese soldiers and personnel back to Japan. Later, she was transferred to the Republic of China for war reparation and served with distinction throughout the 1960s. Tamiya’s 1/350 Japanese Navy Destroyer Yukikaze (Movie Version) commemorates the release of the Japanese film YUKIKAZE and the celebrated WWII destroyer—the only ship of her class to survive the conflict. This special-edition kit, Tamiya part HC-25218, depicts Yukikaze as fitted for the Ten-Ichi-Go operation in April 1945, with added AA guns and radar for an authentic late-war appearance. The full-hull model measures 338mm in length and 31mm in width, capturing the ship’s distinctive form and surface detail. This 1/24 scale model assembly kit recreates the all-new 2025 HONDA Prelude. It was first teased at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show as a concept car but finally unveiled as a final product at the Tokyo Auto Salon in April 2025. The Japanese Navy's Last Heavy Cruiser The Chikuma was completed in May 1939 as the second ship of the Tone-class. She was the final heavy cruiser to be built by the Japanese Navy and featured a distinctive design which concentrated four twin 20.3cm main gun turrets forward of the bridge in order to allow unimpeded launching of her six floatplanes from the aft deck during battle. Chikuma often accompanied the Japanese Navy's aircraft carriers since her floatplanes provided considerable reconnaissance capabilities to the fleet, and she was present at such important engagements as the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Battle of Midway. She continued to serve valiantly until her demise at the hands of U.S. carrier aircraft during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944. Features This is a 1/350 scale plastic assembly kit of the Japanese Heavy Cruiser Chikuma. Length: 576mm, Beam: 71mm. The sharp form of the ship has been accurately reproduced.  Model depicts the Chikuma in early-war form, prior to being refitted with additional equipment.  Differences from the Tone such as the signal lights and rangefinder antennas are faithfully depicted.  The ship's hull separates into port and starboard parts and one-piece lower hull helps to produce the form of the beautiful bow.  The turrets feature precision-molded panel lines and radiator slits.  Parts such as masts and antennas are made from strong ABS plastic parts.  Bridge windows and searchlight lenses are reproduced with clear plastic parts.  Metal parts depict anchor chains and propeller shafts.  Nakajima E8N and Kawanishi E7K floatplanes can be set on the deck.
