A Game Changer During WWI, much of Western Europe was reduced to a massive battlefield criss-crossed by a seemingly unending network of trenches. The original British Mk.I tank was developed to break the deadlock; the Mk.IV was a later model based on many of the same design principle, and of which around 1,000 were produced starting in March 1917. A "Male" variant was developed to smash through enemy lines and in addition to machine guns it utilized large 6-pounder guns, in contrast to the separate Female variant equipped with only machine guns for armament. The Mk.IV saw a variety of action, including a mass deployment of around 400 at the Battle of Cambrai in November 1917, additionally prevailing in the world's first tank on tank battle with the German A7V in April 1918. 8.8cm of Destructive Power The self-propelled heavy anti-tank gun Nashorn packed a formidable punch courtesy of a mammoth 71-caliber 8.8cm Pak43/1 gun which was one of the largest on the battlefield in WWII. The vehicle was developed in all possible haste after the German Army had the unexpected surprise of meeting such overpowering opponents as the T34 and KV-1 upon its invasion of the Soviet Union. The recently-developed III/IV vehicle was used as a base for the Pak43/1 gun, which was capable of destroying enemy tanks from great distance. Top road speed was 42km/h thanks to its relatively light weight of 24 tons. While deployment started in July 1943 under the moniker of Hornisse, it was given the new Nashorn designation from January of the next year, reportedly at the command of Hitler. 439 units were produced up to March 1945, and they served on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, providing heavy firepower for German forces. This is a highly detailed model of the WWII German tank destroyer Nashorn. The full size vehicle featured an 8.8cm gun also known as a PAK 43 and it was fitted to the upper surface of a light turret less chassis. Even though the vehicle was lightly armored, the PAK43 weapon was capable of penetrating 190mm of armor at 1,000 meters. The Nashorn saw action with German heavy antitank battalions fighting Soviet and Allied forces during much of the conflict. Due to its relatively low cost and superior mobility compared to heavier tanks it remained in production until the end of WWII war. Features This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. At Home Off of the Beaten Track Originally commissioned in 1966 as an off-road, amphibious vehicle, the M561 Gama Goat was a 6-wheel drive truck consisting of a 4-wheel tractor and a 2-wheel carrier module. What really set it apart from other vehicles of its type, however, was its employment of an articulation joint between the two modules that allowed them to move independently of one another: a most useful skill when traversing rough terrain. 14,000 Gama Goats produced up to 1973 were used in a variety of roles by both the US Army and Marine Corps, and were deployed in the fighting in Grenada in 1983, although by the start of the 1990s the Gama Goat had been largely phased out. The former half of its unusual nickname came from Roger Gamaunt, designer of the key articulation joint, and the latter half from its tenacious goat-like climbing ability. A Versatile Customer The 508CM "Coloniale" was a vehicle used during WWII by both Italian and German forces. This 3.6m lightweight, 2 wheel drive vehicle had lithe handling thanks to its effective suspension, could squeeze speeds of up to 90km/h out of the 32hp engine, and was capable of carrying four soldiers. It was put to use in a variety of situations and tasks, most notably in North Africa where the Italian Army used it for officers' transportation and reconnaissance activities. Following the Italian surrender of 1943, the Coloniale was commandeered (and in some cases modified) and used in large numbers by the German forces. Features   1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of the 508CM "Coloniale". The BT-7 was a highly-maneuverable tank with a powerful 45mm main gun in addition to sloped front armor, which made it the pillar of the Russian tank divisions. The 1937 model was a defensive upgrade to its predecessors, featuring as it did sloped armor all around the body in place of the previous flat version. This design proved to be successful enough for use in its successor, the T-34. Features This is a 1/35 scale static model assembly kit of the BT-7 Model 1937. Length: 161mm, Width: 65mm. Features highly realistic recreations of the sloped frontal and turret armor, and large-road wheels. Hull is constructed using double panels. Desert Campaigner Production of the M2 began in 1980, and the vehicle received plenty of updates thereafter; one notable variant was the M2A2 ODS (Operation Desert Storm), which was deployed from 1996 and took on board lessons from service in the Gulf War earlier that decade. Many of its upgrades were electronic, including an improved navigation system backed up by laser rangefinder and digital compass antenna sensor, plus the VLQ-8 missile countermeasure device. Combat Identification Panels (CIP) were added to the hull sides and rear in an effort to avoid friendly fire incidents, and the M2A2 ODS was active in the Iraq War in early 2003. With a cupola-cum-gun shield on the M60 machine gun, the M113 ACAV (Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicle) was an improvement on its base, the M113APC (Armored Personnel Carrier). Hook 'em up, Tow 'em out! It was a clash that would shape the future of Europe and the rest of the world for years to come. The Allied Liberation of Europe began on the June 6th, 1944, on the beaches of Normandy, and lasted until Germany's surrender on May 9th, 1945. The Sherman tanks of the US Army began their steady advance into the European mainland, wrenching Europe piece-by-piece from the clutches of Germany. However, the massive tanks of the Wehrmacht such as Tiger and Panther would prove overpowering against the agile, yet considerably smaller Shermans. One of the major factors that allowed the Allies' advance to continue despite this disparity in power was the quick recovery and repair of battle damaged tanks. That is where the M26 Armored Tank Recovery Vehicles and their brave crews came in. The M26 first saw action on the Italian Front of 1943, and was later broadly used in the inland advancement of the Allies following the Invasion at Normandy. In all kinds of weather, in the middle of the night, or under a barrage of enemy fire, the repair crews continually fulfilled their duty to recover and repair damaged tanks. After WWI, Germany pushed forward the development of battle tanks under a blanket of secrecy. The Panzerkampfwagen II used the Panzerkampfwagen I"s hull and came armed with a 2cm main gun. Mass production of the Ausf.A began in 1937 and various improvements including a new suspension led to the Ausf.C. Until the end of production in April 1940, 1088 Panzer II tanks were manufactured. They led the surprise invasion on Poland and were the main tanks used in the attack on France. Later, they were successfully used in reconnaissance missions until the end of the war. Lady Luxury The Citroën 11CV was produced from 1934 to 1957 and was one of France's best vehicles at that time. The mono lightweightcoque body and the low center of gravity front wheel drive setup with torsion bar spring suspension system gave it a superior performance. They were widely used by the French military and thereby large numbers of them were used by German forces with the capture of France. The Unique Match-Up During the WWII, the Finnish Army utilized captured Soviet tanks as their significant armament. Among these was the BT-42 assault gun which the Finnish Army created by pairing the hull from a captured Russian BT-7 Model 1937 light tank with a British 114mm howitzer and a redesigned BT-7's large boxy turret. 18 units were produced from 1943 to 1944 and they were deployed to the Svir River region to attack the Russian bastion. Leading the Chase The M3 Stuart was the representative U.S. light tank in the early years of WWII. An improved version, called the M5A1, was officially accepted for service in September 1942. Powered by two 110hp Cadillac V8 engines, it was capable of a maximum speed of 58km/h. Armament consisted of a 37mm main gun and three 7.92mm machine guns, and the turret was notable for having additional armor attached to protect the anti-aircraft machine gun position. 6,800 examples were produced from January 1943 to June 1944 and they served mainly in reconnaissance units on the Italian and Western European fronts. Some tanks used during the fighting in Normandy were seen with hedgerow cutters attached to their hulls. Features 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit of the U.S. Light Tank M5A1 with 4 figures. Italy's Main WWII Tank During WWII, the Italian army used the M13/40 as its main tank. It featured a riveted construction and bogey-style wheels on a leaf spring suspension with a 47mm main gun featuring on Italy's first ever hydraulically operated turret. In addition, the M13/40 was powered by a 125hp V8 liquid-cooled diesel engine which produced a top speed of 30km/h. From July 1940 through to 1943, approximately 800 units were produced. They fought mainly alongside the German African Corps at the North African front. Features This is a 1/35 scale plastic assembly kit model. Length: 143mm. German's Early-WWII Best Partner The Kfz.70 was widely used by the German Army to transport troops and supplies during the early stages of the WWII. It featured a sloped hood that housed a compact air-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine as well as rear double wishbone independent suspension which offered a superb off-road capability. Large cargo area was fitted with bench seats. The Kfz.70s were produced from 1993 to 1942 and were widely deployed with infantry units, etc. Many of them deployed to frontlines were equipped with a tripod-mounted MG34 machine gun. The German King Tiger (Ardennes Front) Development of the massive King Tiger began in February 1943 to counter the increasing threat of Russian Tanks. A more powerful cannon was added, upgrading from the L56, 88mm of the Tiger I to the Type 43 L71, 88mm high velocity gun. The chassis front armor was 150mm thick with 80mm thick side armor. The Henschel and Porsche companies came up with rival turret prototypes. After the trial production of 50 tanks with the Porsche turret, the Henschel design, with its extremely thick armor that measured 185mm on the front and 88mm on the side panels, was adopted for mass production. The Henschel turret itself was revised mid-way through production, from a stepped gun mantle to a smooth one. Due to the havoc wreaked by the King Tiger I during the final German offensive on the Ardennes front in December of 1944, the Allied forces that moved in on Berlin would fear the King Tiger up until the very last day of the war. As for the DKW NZ350 military motorcycle, production began in 1940. However, this German military motorcycle experienced mid-production changes when resources became limited towards the end of the war. DKW NZ350's at that time were seen with smaller headlights and thinned-out fenders. Defender of the Republic On May 15, 1940, the German invasion of France was in its 5th day. This story takes place at the town of Stonne, in northeastern France, south of Sedan, and involves a clash between units of the Grossdeutschland Regiment and B1 bis tanks from the French 3rd Armored Division. Lieutenant Beck Broichisitter of the 14th Anti-Tank Battery, who was there that day, directly experienced the fierce French counterattack. With enemy gunfire erupting from all sides, conditions in the German lines turned to chaos. Grenadiers from various companies had been left scattered and leaderless, with disabled and destroyed vehicles littering the area along the village street. Still the attack did not let up, and soon 6 B1 bis tanks, accompanied by numerous infantry, bore down on the German lines. Hurrying the 37mm anti-tank guns into position, commanders issued orders to fire, but the powerfully armored French tanks were very difficult to stop. In order to deal with the increasingly tense situation leading up to the outbreak of WWII, a decision was made to modify and improve the existing B1 tank, giving rise to the B1 bis. Distinctive features included the large 75mm gun turret and strengthened front armor. The engine was also upgraded to bring the tank up to contemporary standards. The French government tasked individual suppliers with producing key parts, which caused problems and greatly reduced the number of tanks that were built. Although these and other strategic failures inhibited the B1 bis tank"s ability on the battlefield, it was greatly feared by German soldiers who encountered it. Featuring strong firepower and defense, the B1 bis could more that hold its own against the tanks of the Wehrmacht during individual combat. The Willys MB 1/4-Ton Truck was a significant vehicle of WWII, transporting Allied troops over numerous battlefields throughout the span of the conflict. The truck was used for recon, liaison, command and communication operations, and when necessary an ambulance. It was a tough, but versatile vehicle and widely produced with numbers reaching 640,000 units. During WWII, German soldiers belonging to armored divisions wore camouflage smocks and M44 field uniforms. This is a plastic assembly kit of five figures which features a noncommissioned officer and a soldier in charging poses armed with a panzerfaust and a MP44 assault rifle, a soldier shooting an MG42 machine gun from his waist, a soldier throwing a hand grenade, and another noncommissioned officer firing his MP44 from his knees. The German Tiger I, is said to have been one of the strongest tanks during World War II. Among the variations, at the end of 1942, the early type was sent to Tunisia as a reinforcement to the African Corps led by General Rommel and appeared for the first time in front of the British and American Allied Forces. Features include pistol ports on both sides, a uniquely shaped turret with miscellaneous goods box, a bent front fender, and a slightly angular exhaust pipe cover. Its formidable 88mm gun could destroy the Allied Sherman main battle tank from over 2000m. Features 1/35 scale, total length 240mm, width 106mm. The features of the early model, such as the bent front fender, the pistol ports and slits on both sides of the turret, and the slightly angular shape of the exhaust pipe cover, are realistically reproduced. The Tiger I needs little introduction, this legendary 88mm gun-toting AFV being the subject of countless war tales. Early production versions of the Tiger I were rushed from the factories by the end of 1942, bound for the harsh realities of the Eastern Front and the conflict with Soviet Russia, as well as the sweltering climes of North Africa. This model recreates such an early production variant, from the weighty overall design down to parts such as the turret with circular cupola, smoke dischargers, and large pistol port. Hull details such as air cleaners are of course not missed out. The kit also includes six marking options and an authentic figure.
