The iconic Toyota Tacoma comes to 1/30-scale as the Ready-to-Run Axial® SCX30™ Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro 4X4 Rock Crawler. With an officially licensed ABS hard body, high-performance chassis, and Spektrum electronics, this sub-micro crawler delivers true trail capability in a palm-sized package.
Axial 1/30 SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Overland Edition 4X4 RTR Brushed Rock Crawler (Battery & Charger Included)
Few trucks have earned their reputation quite like the Toyota Tacoma. Since its 1995 debut, the “Taco” became the go-to for overlanders, off-road enthusiasts, and anyone who demanded real capability without sacrificing everyday drivability. Now, for the first time ever, the Tacoma joins the Axial SCX30 lineup and it brings all the credibility of its full-size counterpart to 1/30-scale.
The Axial SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro RTR is built on the SCX30 sub-micro crawler platform engineered to deliver oversized performance at a compact size. Whether you're navigating a desktop, carving through a cluttered living room, or tackling tight outdoor terrain, the SCX30 Tacoma handles it all with the authority you'd expect from the nameplate.
Under that iconic body sits a high-performance chassis loaded with features typically reserved for competition rigs. An angled skid plate lets the Tacoma glide over challenging obstacles rather than hang up on them. Ramped axle housings and rear high-clearance links further prevent dragging, while the platform's forward weight bias sharpens climbing stability on technical surfaces. The longer wheelbase, a Tacoma-specific advantage, provides additional composure around larger obstacles, giving this micro crawler real-world trail geometry in miniature form.
Two distinct versions cater to two core Tacoma identities. The AXI-3289T1 brings a rock crawler-focused build: a wider stance for enhanced balance, larger tires, and a fender delete that channels the stripped-down, purpose-built aesthetic of a dedicated trail rig. Officially licensed BFGoodrich Krawler tires mounted on KMC Torx wheels deliver grip-first performance on technical terrain. The AXI-3289T2 leans into the overlanding lifestyle with a narrower stance, a roof rack fitted with storage containers, and fender flares that recreate the loaded, adventure-ready look of a true 1:1 overland Tacoma. Officially licensed Yokohama Geolandar X-MT tires on Black Rhino Bahari wheels give the AXI-3289T2 the trail credibility to match its style.
Both versions share the Spektrum electronics package, including an SLT2 2.4GHz radio system with throttle limiting for beginners, a brushed motor mounted low in the chassis, and a Spektrum 2S LiPo battery with USB-C charger included. Full ball bearings, an easy-access transmission, and clipless body mounting round out a feature set that punches well above its price point.
For SCX24 fans, collectors, and Toyota Tacoma owners who want a model that actually means something, the SCX30 Toyota Tacoma is the next addition to your lineup. For anyone new to RC rock crawling, it's the most credible, capable, and affordable starting point the hobby has ever seen.

TWO TACOMA PERSONALITIES. ONE PROVEN PLATFORM.
Not every Tacoma owner builds their truck the same way. The Green (AXI-3289T1) captures the aggressive look of a purpose-built rock crawler, while the Tan (AXI-3289T2) embraces the overland lifestyle with adventure-ready accessories. Two distinct styles give customers the freedom to choose the Tacoma that best fits their personality without sacrificing performance.
OVERLAND EDITION
The Tan (AXI-3289T2) takes the Tacoma in a dedicated Overland direction with full fenders, a skid plate-style front bumper, and a traditional rear bumper inspired by the setups commonly found on full-size Overland builds. Yokohama Geolandar X-MT tires paired with Black Rhino Bahari wheels give it a trail-ready tire and wheel package, while the roof rack and cargo boxes complete the adventure-focused Overland look.
ROCK CRAWLER EDITION
The Green (AXI-3289T1) transforms the Tacoma into a dedicated Rock Crawler with deleted fenders and tube-style front and rear bumpers inspired by the setups commonly found on full-size rock crawlers. Larger BFGoodrich Krawler tires give the truck a more aggressive tire package for taking on rocks and obstacles, while KMC Torx wheels and a KC light bar complete the purpose-built crawler look.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED WHEELS & TIRES (AXI-3289T2)
Officially licensed Yokohama Geolandar X-MT tires mounted on officially licensed Black Rhino Bahari wheels ensure that the SCX30 Tacoma RTR has all the traction it needs, whether it's crawling across a desktop or outdoors over rock and dirt trails. The soft compound tires also include factory-installed foam inserts.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED WHEELS & TIRES (AXI-3289T1)
Officially licensed BFG Krawler tires mounted on officially licensed KMC Torx wheels ensure that the SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro has all the traction it needs, whether it's crawling across a desktop or outdoors over rock and dirt trails. The soft compound tires also include factory-installed foam inserts.
EASY-ACCESS TRANSMISSION
The transmission of the SCX30 platform is easily accessible for maintenance and tuning. Optional worm gears available for the SCX24 are compatible for using different ratios.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED TOYOTA TACOMA ABS HARD BODY
Though small, the SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro RTR doesn't come up short on scale realism. The injection molded ABS hard body is loaded with details for authentic scale looks. Front and rear LEDs are included, as are molded accessories.
CLIPLESS BODY MOUNTING
The clipless body mounting system allows fast, easy access to the chassis for battery replacement and general maintenance.
FULL BALL BEARINGS
The SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro may be small, but its high-quality features deliver big-league performance and value. Rather than cutting costs with bushings, for example, the drivetrain spins on sealed ball bearings throughout the entire rig.
SPEKTRUM SLT2 2.4GHz TRANSMITTER
The included Spektrum SLT2 transmitter is designed to help all drivers succeed on the trails. Its throttle limiting feature can limit the rig's maximum available speed to 50% or 75% until you're ready for it all. Four AA batteries are included.
SPEKTRUM ELECTRONICS
The factory-installed on-board electronics are mounted low in the chassis to improve the center of gravity. The ready-to-run package comes complete with a powerful Spektrum 2S LiPo battery and 0.5A USB charger for fast, easy, and safe battery recharging.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE CHASSIS
The Axial SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro 4X4 Rock Crawler has a high-performance chassis with an angled skid plate to help you slide over challenging obstacles - a feature usually found only in comp crawlers. Ramped axle housings and high clearance links also help to avoid dragging and hangups, while the forward weight bias improves climbing stability.
