TAMIYA
Tamiya 60792 1/72 Lockheed ... $60.95
The F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation fighter developed with the versatility to perform a number of roles. It combines extremely low observability with exemplary network connectivity and numerous sensors providing a wealth of situational information to its pilot. Three types of F-35 exist at the time of writing. Among them is the F-35A, which is deployed by various countries' air arms including the U.S. Air Force and the Japan Air Self Defense Force. "A Game Changer" by maker Lockheed Martin In addition to its excellent mobility, the F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation jet fighter that combines high stealth, network operation capabilities, and situational identification capabilities through sensor fusion. Simultaneous development of three variants took place: a conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) F-35A for the Air Force, a short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) F-35B for the Marine Corps, and a carrier-borne (CV) F-35C for the Navy. The F-35A, which has been adopted by many countries (U.S. Air Force, Italian Air Force, and Japan Air Self-Defense Force), is expected to play an active role as the cornerstone of the air forces of Western countries. This model kit from Tamiya pursues ease of assembly while maintaining the precision of a 1/48-scale model! It has been redesigned into parts division appropriate for 1/72 scale; the number of parts has been kept to less than half of the 1/48-scale version. Make no mistake, this kit is still loaded with detail and can reproduce this aircraft's "beast mode," bristling with weapons! A wide range of modelers, from beginners to advanced users, can enjoy this kit! Features This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit. Fuselage length: 218mm, wingspan: 148mm. The low observability form of the F-35A is faithfully captured, with a dedicated parts breakdown for this 1/72 scale model. Features finely molded depictions of the radar absorbent material (RAM) coating sections. Cockpit and landing gear bay depictions are a particular highlight. The model can be assembled in "Beast Mode" with a full complement of ordnance. Choose whether to assemble with the canopy open or closed. Comes with a pilot figure and three marking options. Extensive research by Tamiya's designers ensures that this is a highly accurate kit. It has a dedicated parts breakdown for this scale. Choose an open or closed canopy. The EOTS sensor fairing is molded as a clear component. A busy cockpit offers a detailed finish even in this scale, with depictions of the LCD display and ejection seat. A seated pilot figure with helmet mounted display (HMD) is included in the kit. A full complement of ordnance includes depictions of AIM-9X Sidewinders and GBU-12 Paveway II bombs. This image shows the model assembled in "stealth mode," with no external ordnance. The model depicts closed weapons bay doors only. When assembled in "air-to-air" mode, the model features underwing AIM-9X Sidewinders. With weapons on all of the underwing stations, "beast mode" is an impressive sight. The nose landing gear bay features excellent detail including internal ribs and sidewall boxes. Compared with its 1/48 scale cousin in the Tamiya line-up, this model's nozze uses only a third of the number of parts yet still achieves a crisp finish. Super-fine depictions of the RAM coatings on the fuselage are a real highlight. Choose whether to assemble with radar cross section (RCS) enhancers, which are used in training exercises. A full color marking guide will prove invaluable during assembly. Choose between one U.S. and two Japanese aircraft marking options. A highly comprehensive decal sheet and a set of masking stickers are included.

Tamiya 60793 1/72 Lockheed ... $62.95
This model kit recreates the state-of-the-art F-35B Lightning II in easy to manage and display 1/72 scale. It inherits many of the detailed features first seen in our 1/48 scale release. Thanks to extensive research of the full-size subject, the B variant of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II model is poised to be the definitive model in 1/72 scale! Developed under the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program , the F-35 integrates multiple functions into its design and there are three types: the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) aircraft, the F-35B short takeoff, vertical landing (STOVL), and the F-35C carrier takeoff and landing (CV). The F-35B was developed as a successor of the AV- 8B Harrier II. The F-35B is recognized as the aircraft which accomplished both supersonic flight and STOVL by the 3-bearing engine duct nozzle and lift fan, and following the F-35A, the F-35B deployment started in 2015. The first F-35B to see action was an aircraft belonging to the U.S. Marine Corps VMFA-211 “Wake Island Avengers” in Afghanistan, in September 2018. Not only the U.S. and the U.K. but also Italy employs the F-35B. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force also plans to launch a new fighter squadron with the F-35B from 2024 onward. As the F-35B can be operated from both aircraft carriers and airfields featuring short runways, many countries are considering its deployment, and the F-35B looks set to become a significant presence in the skies across the world. The F-35 Lightning II is an ambitious 5th Generation aircraft that aims to meet the needs of different U.S. service arms via three different variants, perhaps the most adventurous of which is the F-35B which combines extremely low observability and exceptional situational awareness with short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) capability facilitated by a lift fan positioned between the engine and cockpit, that lets it operate from smaller confines such as amphibious assault ships, light aircraft carriers and airfields with limited runway space. Its deployment is planned not only by the U.S. Marine Corps, but also by U.K. and Italian air arms. Get a close look at what makes this fascinating aircraft tick with our detailed and accurate model in the manageable 1/72 scale. Features 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit. Wingspan: 148mm, fuselage length: 215mm. The kit recreates the vertical landing and can be assembled in two ways; landed or hovering and ensures superior assembly with dedicated angled door parts. The parts faithfully depict a hovering aircraft with downward engine nozzle and opened doors. Features realistic renderings of half-open two inner weapon bay doors and interior details such as ribs and pipes. The nose landing gear and main landing gear can be depicted as extended (for hovering) or retracted (for landing). The lift fan is integrated with nose landing gear bay, and the variable vane underneath is recreated in detail. Shorter than on the F-35A, the engine nozzle is recreated by a single part. The 3BSM (3 Bearing Swivel Module) is faithfully recreated with a dedicated parts breakdown for this kit. RAM (Radar Absorbent Material) are molded into fuselage surfaces. Clear parts recreate canopy and EOTS fairing under the nose. Includes parts for AIM-9X Sidewinder x2 and AIM-120C AMRAAM x2. Y-shaped air intake duct for highly advanced stealth characteristics. Detailed cockpit, landing gear bays and roll posts. Martin-Baker US16E ejection seat. RCS (radar cross section) enhancers affixed to top and bottom sections during basic training exercises. One pilot figure with the helmet mounted display (HMD). A stand is included to use if you are making a hovering model. Comes with 5 marking options from a total of three countries (United States Marine Corps, Royal Air Force, Italian Navy). Includes masking stickers and a painting guide.

Tamiya 61033 1/48 Supermari... $28.95
The Supermarine Spitfire is regarded by many as the most beautifully designed single seat fighter to appear during the Second World War. Conceived by the renowned British designer Reginald J. Mitchell, the protoype first flew on 5 March 1936. It was an advanced, low wing monoplane with a very slim fuselage and smooth flush riveted metal skin. The Mk I and II versions demonstrated their formidable performance during the "Battle of Britain", and by early 1941, the majority of fighter squadrons were furnished with this fighter. Improvements were suggested by the pilots and every effort was made to maintain its performance advantages over its opponents. Early improvements resulted in the Mk. V series of Spitfires which became the most widely produced version of all Mk's. The main improvement was the furnishing of three wing armament versions, and the use of the more powerful Merlin type 45 engine, and the "fishtail" flame damping exhaust stubs. The most numerous Mk.V was the "b" winged version with a mixed armament of two 7.7mm machine guns and one 20mm cannon in each wing. Although the famous elliptical shaped wing was retained on most Spitfires, some Mk. Vb's had clipped wing tips for better low altitude manurverability. The Spitfire went through numerous minor and major changes throughout its production life, and served with distinction on every battle front of the war. Powered by the Rolls-Royce Merin 45 engine, the Mk.Vb variant of the Spitfire was the mainstay fighter of the RAF in the middle stages of WWII.  Features This 1/48 scale kit accurately reproduces this 20mm cannon-armed variant and includes options such as two different types of windscreens, three types of canopies, and both normal and clipped wingtips. One pilot figure and three marking options are also included.
