Border Model 1/350 Yamato Parallel World 1965

This Border Model kit presents a fascinating “what-if” concept — imagining the legendary Japanese battleship Yamato surviving World War II and being modernized in 1965. The “Parallel World Yamato” combines the ship’s iconic wartime design with Cold War-era technology, featuring radar arrays, guided missiles, and automatic gun systems.

The kit offers an exceptionally detailed full-hull model with multiple decks, advanced weapon systems, and fine surface detailing. It includes large-caliber turrets, modernized secondary batteries, missile launchers, and radar masts reflecting a 1960s refit. Photo-etched parts are provided for fine elements such as ladders, railings, and antennas. Builders can display the ship as a full-hull or waterline version.
