Vallejo's Surface Primers are water based Acrylic-Polyurethane primers. They are perfect for surfaces like plastics, brass, resin, metal, etc., and can be used on model trains, airplanes, armor, ships, and figures. They provide a great surface for the painting and weathering / finishing stages. Primers are formulated to provide the correct undercoating to bind the paint to the surface of the model. Primers are the important first step in the entire process of model painting. This primer can be applied directly by airbrush or paint brush. There is no need to thin the primer. It dry fast and leaves a self-leveling, durable, scratch resistant, flat finish that is completely resistant to further handling. Because this primer is self-leveling it does not hide the minute details of the model. Directions For Use: Shake the bottle before using. Pour the desired amount into the airbrush cup or paint cup. Primer does not have to be thinned for air brushing or when using a paint brush. When applying with a airbrush spray from an 8-inch distance for better coverage. Primer is self-leveling and will not hide any of the fine detail when dry.

This acrylic varnish is truly unique and has been tailored to remove the shine of any models being dipped with Quickshade or painted using conventional paints. Although really matt, the sprays original formula retains the metallic shine from Plate Mail etc. Always let the Quickshade dry for minimum 48 hours before using this varnish and apply it in a thin coat. Mr Color hobby paint is a paint that has long been regarded highly by modelers world wide as a model paint that delivers an outstanding finish. There are a large number of colours and colour types available, which are suitable for painting almost all models. Generally, Mr Color provides a wider range of paint colours and finishes than Aqueous Hobby Color, and will dry to a smoother and harder finish. When applying Mr Color paint, 1 to 2 coats are recommended when using paint brushes, and 2 to 3 coats if using an airbrush to spray paint. If airbrushing Mr Color paint, it should be thinned after diluting to a ratio of between 1 (Mr Color) and 1 to 2 Thinner, depending on the degree of paint viscosity required. Gloss levels obtained using gloss coat Mr Color hobby paints can be adjusted by using Flat Base - mix approximately 5 to 10% of C-30 Flat Base to convert gloss colors to a semi gloss finish, or 10 to 20% for a matt finish. The percentage of Flat Base used can be adjusted to vary the amount of gloss level obtained.
