The popular, steady-selling Glacier Express in the Alps is back with new features, including a luxurious new Excellence Class carriage. The actual carriage will travel through the European Alps in southwestern Switzerland, connecting Zermatt and St. Moritz with the Rhaetian Railway.
This popular panoramic sightseeing train, which offers a leisurely eight-hour journey across two railway companies on the Terhorn-Gotthard Railway, offers magnificent views of the Alps from the windows.
In 2019, the Excellence Class, a higher-class version of the first-class car, was introduced, bringing changes to the existing carriages as well.
The lineup, including the luxurious new Excellence Class, which debuted in 2019, will be commercialized.
The existing first- and second-class cars have also received updates, including some interiors and seat colors, allowing you to enjoy the Glacier Express of today.
The Ge4/4-III will also be recreated with a renovated exterior.
Features
- The vehicles included in the set are equivalent to the 10-2026 Alps Glacier Express 3-car basic set.
- The Alps locomotive Ge4/4-III
- basic set (3 cars)/starter set is based on the 647th locomotive. The design with the Rhaetian Railway logo engraved in large letters on the side has been reproduced.
- The updated appearance has been reproduced centered around the lights. The
- headlights have been converted to HID/LED and have a significantly changed design (white LEDs are used).
- The layout of the electrical connectors, hoses (jumper plugs), and the front with the emblem of the canton of Graubünden have been reproduced. The emblem has been reproduced in the shape of a shield-shaped plate attached.
- The brake hoses located on the left and right near the front center are reproduced as separate parts.
- A slotless motor is used to realize smooth and quiet driving.
- A short coupler for the Glacier Express is standard equipment.
- The gold band distributed on the border of red and blue and white on the body of the replacement Arnold coupler accessory car and the EXCELLENCE CLASS lettering distributed on the upper part of the side indicator are reproduced
- . The through-hole on the locomotive connection side is removed, and the through-door shape is changed.
- The 1+1 row arrangement seats and tables, and the bar installed using the space from the end of the car to one window are reproduced.
- The side window is partially closed and reduced due to the installation of the bar at the end of the car.
- The passenger door window is reproduced with the appearance changed to a lower window.
- The sill glass with the dry glass design changed is reproduced.
- The color of the floorboard and bogie frame is set to blue.
- The color of the seats in both 1st and 2nd class cars has been changed, and the interior has been changed to black/brown to express the atmosphere of the actual car.
- The API reproduces the interior with some seats removed and the luggage storage added.

- It can support DCC by replacing the light board with DN163K4a.
The set power pack uses a high-output (1.2A) power pack standard SX and an AC adapter exclusively for the starter set. A 821mm x 347mm running Unitrak track set with two additional Unitrak S248 tracks and a set of rerailer tracks for the CV1 endless basic set (radius R150). You can enjoy the Glacier Express simply and conveniently on your table or desk at home.
