The fourth-generation Skyline, the C110 series, which underwent a full model change and was released in September 1972, became a huge hit immediately after its release. Thanks to the popular advertising slogan "Ken and Mary's Skyline," it became affectionately known as the "Kenmeri."
At the 19th Tokyo Motor Show that same year, the Skyline Hardtop 2000GT-R Racing Specification was exhibited. The excitement surrounding the release of the Kenmeri GT-R reached its peak. In January of the following year, 1973, deliveries of the Kenmeri GT-R began, but the GT-R, which used leaded high-octane gasoline, could not meet the Showa 48 (1973) exhaust gas regulations. Only 197 units (the exact number is subject to debate) of this vehicle were produced, and only 195 were sold before the model was discontinued.

Kenmeri GT-R grille
Front/rear bumpers
Choice of eight-spoke or Genuine steel wheels

A Premonition of a Legendary Car
The sixth-generation Mark II, known as the X80 series, debuted in August 1988 as a full model change from the previous X70 series. While retaining the core design concept of its predecessor, the exterior evolved into a more stylish form with smooth, curved lines in line with contemporary trends. From this generation onward, all six-cylinder models were equipped with DOHC 24-valve engines. The front suspension adopted struts, while the rear introduced a new double wishbone system. Riding the wave of Japan’s bubble economy, the Mark II became a massive hit—so much so that in 1990 its annual sales surpassed those of the Corolla, taking the top spot for the first time in history.

The BNR32 GT-R was introduced in August 1989, at the height of Japan’s bubble economy, as an additional model to the R32 Skyline that had already debuted under the catchphrase “Super-Sensory Skyline.” After a 16-year absence since the Kenmeri GT-R, the Skyline GT-R lineage had finally returned. The BNR32 was born to dominate Group A racing—the pinnacle of domestic touring car competition at the time, known as the JTC All Japan Touring Car Championship. Its specially designed powerhouse, the RB26DETT engine, was developed with displacement determined in accordance with Group A regulations. In the JTC Championship, the BNR32 Skyline GT-R achieved complete victory in every race, accomplishing a legendary streak of 29 consecutive wins. From its debut onward, racing effectively became a GT-R one-make series, and whether on the street or the circuit, the BNR32 reigned supreme, rewriting automotive history as a truly historic masterpiece.

Aoshima's 1/350-scale sailing ship series features models of famous sailing ships from around the world at an affordable price and in a convenient size for collecting! The Cutty Sark is a tea clipper launched in 1869 in Dumbarton, Scotland. It is a typical high-speed vessel with a length six times its width, and a gross tonnage of 963 tons. It boasted a top speed of over 17 knots. At the time, wood was scarce, so it was a composite ship made of wood and iron, using steel frame and teak planking for the hull. It is still preserved today in Greenwich as the only surviving clipper ship.

They thundered down the straights at astonishing speeds, then decelerated before corners with fierce after-fire blazing from the exhaust. The sheer spectacle left car fans of the era thrilled.
