The Illustrious class was a class of aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy that included some of the most important British warships in World War II. The first ship in this class was HMS Illustrious. She was laid down on April 27th, 1937, launched on April 5th, 1939 and commissioned on May 25th, 1940.
The Illustrious class relied on their anti-aircraft armament and the passive defense provided by an armored flight deck for survival.
In the Illustrious class, armor was carried at the flight deck level and formed an armored box-like hangar that was an integral part of the ship's structure. This armor scheme was designed to withstand 1,000-pound bombs The flight deck had an armored thickness of 3 inches.

HMS Victorious was a British aircraft carrier, the keel of which was laid in 1937, launched in September 1939. The ship entered service with the British Royal Navy in May 1941. At the time of launching, the ship was 228 m long, 29.2 m wide, and her displacement was 28,700 tons. The maximum speed of the Victorious aircraft carrier oscillated around 30-31 knots, and its main armament at the time of the launch was 33 on-board planes, later this number increased to 56 aircraft.
HMS Victorious was one of four Illustrious carriers. Their construction was based on the assumption that they would serve primarily in limited waters, such as the Mediterranean or the North Sea, and that they would be frequently attacked from the air. This led to their incredible armor as for aircraft carriers, which provided them with very good protection against aerial bombs weighing about 250 kg and artillery shells up to 150 mm. However, good armor required a single-level hangar, which only allowed 33 aircraft to be taken on board, compared to 70-90 aircraft carried by Japanese and American aircraft carriers. HMS Victorious's first major combat action was the pursuit of the German battleship Bismarck in May 1941, culminating in the sinking of the Kriegsmarine pride. In the years 1941-1942, the aircraft carrier served in the North Atlantic and protected convoys on the Arctic route to the USSR. In 1942, it was ferry to the Mediterranean Sea and protected convoys in the Malta area by the Italian fleet and air force. In November 1942 he covered the Allied landings in Morocco and Algeria - Operation Torch. For much of 1943 he operated with the US Navy in the Pacific. From December 1943 to February 1944 it was renovated and modernized already in Great Britain. In July 1944 he returned to the Far East, where he served until the end of the war. In 1945 he took part in the battles for Okinawa. HMS Victorious in the period 1950-1957 underwent a thorough modernization, which allowed him to remain in service until 1968!

Aoshima's kit of the British aircraft carrier HMS Victorious is molded in gray plastic, and comes with decals.

Nissan Skyline is a Japanese passenger car, which during the history of its production was classified as: compact car, mid-size car and upper middle car. compact executive car ). The car debuted on the market in 1957 and its production is still ongoing. In the generation that was introduced to the market in 2014. the car is 479 cm long, 182 cm wide, with a wheelbase of 285 cm.
The presented vehicle was initially manufactured by the Prince Motor Company, but at the time of their merger with Nissan in 1967, the car began to be produced under the name Nissan Skyline. It is also worth adding that the engineer who previously worked at the Prince Motor Company plants was the person who exerted the greatest influence on the development of this car Shinichiro Samurai. It is assumed that he directly or indirectly influenced the technical solutions of the Skyline model until his death in 2011! Chronologically, the first generation of the car was produced between 1957 and 1964 and can be classified as a rather luxurious car powered by engines with a capacity of 1.5 or 1.9 liters. Over time - and with the introduction of the next generations - the Skyline became more and more sporty, as can already be seen in the 1968-1972 models, especially in the example of the 2-door coupe. The breakthroughs for the Skyline model are considered to be the versions launched in 1977 (C211 and CG211), which had a completely new 6-cylinder engine. The latest version of the Skyline model has been available on the market since 2014, which uses 2.0 and 3.0 liter combustion engines as the propulsion unit, as well as a 3.5 liter hybrid engine. Undoubtedly, due to its long history as well as technical advantages, the Skyline model has earned itself the name of a "cult car".

Ordered in 1917 to the Sasebo Naval Arsenal and completed in April 1921 as the 4th vessel of the Harima-class cruisers, Kitakami was converted into a torpedo cruiser. She subsequently participated in the Battle of Midway as part of the Aleutian screening force. She was later used as a fast transport and made numerous sorties to Rabaul and other locations in the Solomon Islands and New Guinea. After taking severe damage in a torpedo attack by the submarine HMS Templar on 27 January 1944, she was converted to a Kaiten human torpedo carrier. She survived the war, and was used as a tender for repatriation vessels after the war.
Kitakami was a Japanese light cruiser whose keel was laid in 1919, launched in July 1920, and commissioned in the Imperial Japanese Navy in April 1921. The length of the ship at the time of launching was 152.4 m, width 14.2 m, and her displacement was 5,200 tons. The cruiser Kitakami's maximum speed was 36 knots. At the time of launching, the main armament was 7 140 mm guns in single positions, and the additional armament was, among others: 2 80 mm cannons and 8 533 mm torpedo tubes.
Kitakami was the third Kuma-class cruiser. Cruisers of this type were in fact the enlarged Tenryu class, but had greater range, speed, and better weapons, with the exception of anti-aircraft weapons, which were still very weak. From August 1944 to January 1945 Kitakami was converted into a torpedo cruiser - the number of guns was reduced to three and the number of torpedo tubes increased to 40! The modernized cruiser could also use Kaiten-class suicide torpedoes. The combat career of the cruiser Kitakami began during the Sino-Japanese fighting in the 1930s. The Kitakami combat trail in World War II began in December 1941 with the escorting of a team of battleships on the route from Hashirijama port to the Bonin Islands. In May 1942, he took part in the seizure of the Aleutians. From the second half of 1942, he began to play the role of a fast transport ship, serving in this role, among others in the region of the Solomon Islands and New Guinea until 1944. After the already signaled conversion to the torpedo cruiser Kitakami, it did not take part in major operations in the Pacific, although it was damaged as a result of air attacks. The cruiser survived the war and was scrapped until March 1947.

The Akashi was a Japanese repair and support vessel from the interwar period and World War II, launched in June 1938 and commissioned in the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1939. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 158.5 m, width 20.5 m, and displacement - approx. 9,000 tons. The maximum speed was 19-20 knots. At the time of launch, the unit was armed with 4 127 mm guns and 12 25 mm cannons.
The Akashi was a unique vessel in the Imperial Japanese Navy - the only ship in her class. From the beginning, it was also designed as a repair and overhaul unit, intended to somehow complement the old battleship Asahi rebuilt for this role in the fleet. The unit also received very modern equipment - largely imported from Germany. During the Pacific War (1941-1945), the unit operated primarily from the base in Truk. It carried out overhauls of such units as the aircraft carrier Shokaku in late 1942 and the battleship Yamato in 1943. In February 1944, the unit managed to escape from the base in Truk during the American Operation Hailstone, but was finally sunk on March 30, 1944 as a result of attacks by American air forces.
Authorized in 1934, Akashi was a purpose-built ship of the I.J.N. This 1/700 quality model is molded in grey plastic and features brown plastic and clear parts too!

The Akitsushima was a seaplane tender of the Imperial Japanese Navy, serving during World War II from 1942 until she was sunk in September 1944.
In 1938, the IJN wanted to use their large-sized flying boats more effective, because the Kawanishi H6K was the only aircraft able to hit Pearl Harbor directly from the Marshall Islands. However, the Marshall Islands did not have flying boat facilities at that time. The IJN therefore planned two kinds of seaplane tenders which were included in the Maru 4 program. The IJN planned a 3,500-ton class tender. The ships should be able to maintain, repair and supply seaplanes. The IJN intended to accommodate the flying boat by bow-up trim and slope at first; however, this plan was cancelled and the Akitsushima class was equipped with a 35-ton crane. She was commissioned on 29 April 1942, and sunk in September 1944 at Coron Bay.

Taigei was a Japanese submarine tender from the interwar period and World War II. The keel for this unit was laid in April 1933, launched in November of the same year, and commissioned in the Imperial Japanese Navy in March 1934. The length of the ship was 215.65 m, width about 19.6 m, and displacement - 14,400 tons. The maximum speed was around 18.5 knots, and it was armed with including a single 127 mm cannon and 40 mm and 25 mm anti-aircraft guns. Taigei was a kind of aftermath of the disarmament Treaty of 1930, which imposed displacement restrictions on major warships on the world's major navies. The Japanese fleet, striving to circumvent this treaty, decided to build in the 1930s large auxiliary units (eg Taigei), which, in the event of a war, could be relatively quickly converted into, for example, light aircraft carriers. Taigei too was designed and built according to this philosophy. It is worth adding that she was one of the first ships in the Japanese Navy to use electric welding on such a large scale. The ship, shortly after entering service, in 1934, was severely damaged by a typhoon, which in turn forced major repairs on the Taigei. From 1938 to 1940, Taigei supported the Japanese fleet's operations off the coast of China, thereby taking part in the 1937-1945 Japanese-Chinese War. At the very end of December 1940, Taigei reached the naval base in Jokosuce, where work began on its conversion into the Ryuho light carrier.
Aoshima's "Waterline" model-kit line has now been renewed with a higher level of precision! This is a 1/700-scale kit of the submarine carrier Taigei, a large auxiliary ship built to work with Japanese Navy submarines operating in the vast Pacific Ocean. The impressive hull, which is close to the size of a battleship, is simple and easy to assemble, and can be accurately reproduced with a parts configuration that keeps the main points down. In addition to various equipment such as high-angle guns and searchlights, a newly designed carrier-based aircraft has been added. Slide-molding is used to create dense precision; in addition to armaments such as destroyer main guns and machine guns, carrier-based aircraft and various equipment have also been updated.

The Mashu is a modern Japanese supply and support vessel for the Japanese Navy Self-Defense Forces. The launch took place in February 2003 and commissioned in March 2004. The total length of the ship is 221 meters, the overall width is 27 meters, and the full displacement is about 25,000 tons. The maximum speed does not exceed 25 knots. The drive is provided by two Rolls-Royce Kawasaki Spey SM1C gas turbines. The crew consists of 145 people. Mashu, along with her sister ship Omi, form a class of two supply units with the same name as the presented unit. Mashu-class ships are essentially a modernization of Towada-class ships. The main changes mainly concern the significant enlargement of the units and the increase in the carrying capacity of the materials they are taking for other ships in the combat group. Mashu-class ships also have not only an air deck, but also their own hangar that allows them to independently operate the helicopters.

$ PRICE IN PROGRESS!
The Balao is the name of a class of American diesel-electric fighter submarines (SS) of the Second World War. The first unit of this type was launched in 1942. In total, 120 units of this type were created. The Balao-class ship was 95 m long, 8.3 m wide, and had a displacement of about 2,400 tons. The maximum underwater speed is around 8.5-9 knots. The ships of this type had ten 533 mm torpedo tubes - including six bow and four stern. The ship's armament also included single 127 mm, 40 mm and 20 mm cannons.
Balao-class ships were developed and put into production as one of the basic types of US Navy submarines. The ships were very similar to the Gato-class ships, but were made of a different type of steel, the so-called HTS, which allowed them to reach a greater immersion depth of 120-130 meters. They also had other artillery weapons in a marginal way. Like the Gato-type units, they had highly reliable and proven diesel engines, which allowed for a relatively long patrol time of a single ship. Units of this type also offered - as for the submarines of that time - a good working comfort for the crew. They also had radio and electronic equipment as rich as those times. For example, the airspace search radar was mounted on them. Balao-class ships played a gigantic role in World War II, inflicting huge losses on the Japanese merchant navy in 1942-1945. It is worth adding that after the end of World War II, many of them underwent modernization and remained in service or in reserve until the beginning of the 1970s. Many Balao class units were transferred to other fleets, incl. to: Argentina, Greece, Turkey and Spain.
Molded in gray plastic, this kit includes decals, and can be built as either a full-hull or waterline model.
