The first set of the Alpine Miniatures collection, includes a 1/35 figure which depicts a corporal of the 29th Infantry Division, equipped with the most common gear for the late European campaigns of WWII. The miniature has been sculpted by Teasung Harmms exclusively for Vallejo. The 29th Infantry Division took an active part in the D-day landings on Omaha beach in June 1944, as well as in the assault on Brest in September 1944 and the invasion of Germany in 1945. By mixing different base colors with various shadow and highlight tones we can obtain a wide range of shades of Olive Drab needed to paint US Army uniforms and field gear present during the last years of WWII. Vallejo Model Color is a range of 198 acrylic paints specially made for plastic model making. The paints are opaque, water-based, designed for brush application. They adhere well to resin, plastics and metal. They can be mixed with each other. After drying, they are matte, brush strokes are not visible, they are waterproof and permanent. For brush application, dilute with water or Thinner (70524). The paints can also be used in an airbrush gun when diluted 50% with Airbrush Thinner (71261 17ml, 71361 60ml, 71161 200ml). Any repairs can be immediately corrected with water or alcohol. The range is complemented by media, emulsions, retarder, filler, decal softener and final varnishes. The fourth set of the collection includes an exclusive figure in resin, scale 1/35 by Alpine Miniatures, sculpted for Vallejo by Taesung Harmms. The figure represents a Waffen-SS tank crewman at the Battle of Kursk, in 1943, and wears a reversible camouflage coverall in “Oak Leaf” pattern (Eichenlaubmuster), and the typical Waffen-SS black cap. From the beginning, in 1943, until the end of the war, these camouflage coveralls were very popular amongst the crews of armored vehicles.
