After more than 20 years of active use, many of the features of this threatening-looking high-tech spy plane are still shrouded in mystery. What is certain, however, is that the spy plane developed at Lockheed's legendary Skunk Works on behalf of the CIA was the first aircraft invisible to enemy radar and the fastest and highest-flying aircraft in the world to this day. These spaceship-like creations reached speeds of more than Mach 3 (approx. 3,400 km / h) in the outer areas of the atmosphere, where the air is thin. - Exactly reproduced surface details - GTD-21 surveillance drone with car included - Decals with authentic US Air Force lettering - Cast from black and transparent material .Features

Revell 05040 1/350 Bismarck...
$238.95
At 42,343 tons, the Bismarck was the largest and most modern battleship in the world (along with the Hood) in her day. On May 24, 1941, in a naval battle together with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, she sank the largest British battle cruiser, the Hood, with the 5th salvo of her 38-cm guns at the pack ice limit off Greenland. Launched at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg on February 14, 1940, she was, together with the identical Tirpitz, the most modern ship and the prestige object of the German navy. At 251 meters long, the top of the mast reached 52 meters above the water surface. A total of 17,450 tons of steel were used for armor protection. The newly designed heavy artillery fired 800 kg projectiles up to a range of 34.2 km, penetrating 350 mm armor up to 21 km. While the Prinz Eugen received no hits in the May 24 engagement, the bow-damaged Bismarck set course for a French port. During the subsequent pursuit by British ships and aircraft, the ship was shot out of action by numerically superior forces of Home Fleet after a torpedo hit the steering gear on May 27, 1941, and sank in the Atlantic some 800 km off the French coast. Of 2,092 men on board, 115 survived.

With the Type XXI, Germany had the most advanced submarine in the world at the beginning of 1945. Thanks to numerous technical innovations, it was able to sail underwater without restrictions, as the diesel engines sucked in the required fresh air through a special snorkel. The line shape designed for underwater cruising and a battery capacity three times larger resulted in the sensational underwater speed of 17 knots. Other innovations included low-noise electric motors for stealth driving, highly sensitive tracking devices and 2 cm anti-aircraft gun turrets. The model gives an authentic insight into this groundbreaking submarine due to the torn left hull outer wall. Many rooms have been reproduced in detail, including the diesel and electric engines. Glimpses of the command center and crew living quarters give an idea of life under water. The decal includes interior details and identifiers for U2540, which was commissioned on 24 February 1945. After a short training voyage, U2540 was sunk by the crew in the Flensburg Fjord on 04.05.1945. Raised again in 1957, it served the German Navy as the Wilhelm Bauer test boat. Today, U2540 can be visited as a museum boat.

$49.95
From summer 1943 a total of 91 U-boats of the VII C/41 type were commissioned. By this time, the operating conditions had changed completely. The pack tactics rarely led to the successful detection of ship convoys and special anti-submarine aircraft now patrolled over a wide area. In order to be able to defend themselves better against air attacks when surfaced, the Type VII C/41 U-boats were given a tower superstructure extended to a large conservatory. This is faithfully depicted in the model with two 20 mm anti-aircraft twins and a 37mm M42U anti-aircraft cannon. An erectable snorkel mast for fresh and exhaust air ducting, which was movable in the model, and four watertight pressure vessels with 5-man life rafts were further features of these submarines. Thanks to the better structural steel, the boats could now dive up to 250 m. New components are included to depict the wooden deck with engraved pressure vessels and the Atlantic stem. The highly detailed fuselage representation with rivets and weld seams is also worth mentioning. The following U-boats can be depicted with the decals: U 292, U 318, U 998, U 1004.

Revell 05149 1/720 HMS Ark ...
$31.95
HMS Ark Royal (pennant number 91) was an aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy that served during the Second World War.
Designed in 1934 to fit the restrictions of the Washington Naval Treaty, Ark Royal was built by Cammell Laird and Company Ltd. at Birkenhead, England, and completed in November 1938. Her design differed from previous aircraft carriers. Ark Royal was the first ship on which the hangars and flight deck were an integral part of the hull, instead of an add-on or part of the superstructure. Designed to carry a large number of aircraft, she had two hangar deck levels. She served during a period that first saw the extensive use of naval air power; several carrier tactics were developed and refined aboard Ark Royal.
Ark Royal served in some of the most active naval theatres of the Second World War. She was involved in the first aerial and U-boat kills of the war, operations off Norway, the search for the German battleship Bismarck, and the Malta Convoys. Ark Royal survived several near misses and gained a reputation as a 'lucky ship'. The Germans incorrectly reported her as sunk on multiple occasions. She was torpedoed on 13 November 1941 by the German submarine U-81 and sank the following day; one of her 1,488 crew members was killed. Her sinking was the subject of several inquiries; investigators were keen to know how the carrier was lost, in spite of efforts to save the ship and tow her to the naval base at Gibraltar. They found that several design flaws contributed to the loss, which were rectified in new British carriers.
The Tribal class, or Afridi class, were a class of destroyers built for the Royal Navy, Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Australian Navy that saw service in World War II. Originally conceived during design studies for a light fleet cruiser, the Tribals evolved into fast, powerful destroyers, with greater emphasis on guns over torpedoes than previous destroyers, in response to new designs by Japan, Italy, and Germany.
