The Fuso, the lead ship of the Fuso-class battleships, distinguished by its unique towering bridge structure, was completed in 1917 during World War I. After undergoing several modernization refits, she went on to participate in the Pacific War. During the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944, she charged into the Surigao Strait as a unit of the Nishimura Fleet. Alongside her sister ship, Yamashiro, she engaged the U.S. fleet and was subsequently sunk. This kit accurately reproduces the Fuso as she appeared in the late stages of the Pacific War, heavily augmented with anti-aircraft weaponry, through a well-organized parts layout that ensures a simple yet precise assembly experience. Various fittings -- including countless anti-aircraft machine guns, high-angle guns, and aircraft catapults -- have been added using newly designed molds. Slide-molding technology is utilized to achieve intricate, precise surface details, and various fittings, with an emphasis on high-angle guns and machine guns, have been fully updated. Aoshima's 1/700-scale "Waterline" series model kit of the Japanese Navy special submarine I-400, known as a secret weapon of the Japanese Navy, has been renewed with more precision! Features The parts structure is simple and easy to assemble for accurate reproduction Newly designed weapons such as a 25mm triple machine gun have been added. Some of the parts are slide-molded for density and precision In addition to armaments such as destroyer main guns and machine guns, carrier-based aircraft and various equipment have been updated. The outfitting parts (Type 96 25mm triple machine gun and 40-caliber 14cm single gun) have been renewed with new molds.

Aoshima's kit of the Takao, in a 1942 "retake" version. Builds into a full-hull model with dispay stands. The lead ship of her class, Takao was built at Yokosuka Naval Arsenal and commissioned on May 31, 1932. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, she took part in the landings at Philippines in early 1942 and the landings at the Aleutian Islands that June. During the Battle of Santa Cruz in October, she helped in the sinking of USS Hornet (CV-8). The following month, Takao participated in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. Attacked and damaged in November 1943 by SBD Dauntless dive bombers from USS Saratoga (CV-3), she was in dry-dock for repairs until early 1944. Taking part in the Battle of the Philippine Sea that June, she was ordered to face the U.S. Navy during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Takao was attacked and damaged by torpedoes from USS Darter (SS-227) on October 23. Making her way to Singapore, she was deemed unrepairable. Attacked by Royal Navy midget submarines in July 1945, she received further damage. In October 1946, Takao was towed to the Strait of Malacca and sunk as a target ship by the Royal Navy light cruiser HMS Newfoundland.

Katsuragi was the third and final Unryū-class aircraft carrier of the Imperial Japanese Navy built during World War II. Named after Mount Katsuragi,[1] in Nara Prefecture, and completed late in the war; she never embarked her complement of aircraft and spent the war in Japanese waters. The ship was badly damaged in a July 1945 airstrike by American carrier aircraft on Kure Naval Base. Repaired after the end of the war, Katsuragi was then used as a repatriation transport for a number of months, bringing Japanese soldiers and civilians back to Japan from overseas locations. She was scrapped in Japan beginning in late 1946.

Detailed waterline kit of the Amagi, A Japanese aircraft carrier that never saw battle in WWII before being sunk at its moorings. Amagi (Japanese: Heavenly Castle) was a Japanese aircraft carrier, the keel of which was laid in 1942, launched in October 1943, and commissioned in the Imperial Japanese Navy in August 1944. The ship was 226 meters long, 22 meters wide, and had a full displacement of 20,450 tons. The maximum speed of the aircraft carrier Amagi was around 34 knots, and its main armament consisted of 65 on-board planes. Amagi was the second of 16 planned Unryu-class aircraft carriers. In fact, only three ships of this class entered service. Amagi, like its twin units, was based on the modified Hiryu aircraft carrier. The differences between the two types of ships were small and mainly related to the layout of the starting deck. The participation of the aircraft carrier Amagi in World War II was symbolic - suffice to say that such a powerful unit never took part in a fight on the open sea! From August 1944 to January 1945, Amagi was transferred from base to base on the territory of the mother islands, and finally reached the base at Kure. Due to the lack of fuel and the impossibility of embarking the air group, the ship was camouflaged in this naval base, which, however, did not prevent it from being detected and bombed by American on-board planes in March and July 1945: the first raid seriously damaged it, and the second one - sent it to the bottom .
