Mr Color hobby paint is a paint that has long been regarded highly by modelers world wide as a model paint that delivers an outstanding finish. There are a large number of colours and colour types available, which are suitable for painting almost all models. Generally, Mr Color provides a wider range of paint colours and finishes than Aqueous Hobby Color, and will dry to a smoother and harder finish. When applying Mr Color paint, 1 to 2 coats are recommended when using paint brushes, and 2 to 3 coats if using an airbrush to spray paint. If airbrushing Mr Color paint, it should be thinned after diluting to a ratio of between 1 (Mr Color) and 1 to 2 Thinner, depending on the degree of paint viscosity required. Gloss levels obtained using gloss coat Mr Color hobby paints can be adjusted by using Flat Base - mix approximately 5 to 10% of C-30 Flat Base to convert gloss colors to a semi gloss finish, or 10 to 20% for a matt finish. The percentage of Flat Base used can be adjusted to vary the amount of gloss level obtained. Sprays are a perfect combination of base coat and highly pigmented color, developed for use on all metal, plastic and resin models and miniatures. Our original and unique spray formula dries fast and offers a perfect matt and self-levelling finish, designed to respect and bring forth even the finest details of the models and miniatures. The colors are a perfect match to the equivalent shades available in our Game and Model Color ranges, so both painting techniques can be combined. Each Hobby Paint shows the original color applied on the colored ring around the top and is equipped with 2 different nozzles; one with a low discharge flow, especially recommended for painting precise and small details and the medium discharge flow, recommended for painting medium and larger surfaces. Metal Color is the innovative range of metallic colors with a water-based formulation, which uses aluminium pigments in its production. The Metal Color range offers a wide range of shades in order to imitate the metallic finish of aircraft of all types and eras. Of exceptional brightness and extraordinary power of reflection, it allows the modeler to carry out the full range of painting techniques without the need to resort to enamels and lacquers. It can be applied directly to the model using an airbrush or diluted with our Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. Metal Color dries very quickly, maintaining the smallest details present on the model and forming a homogeneous and self-leveling layer of extraordinary resistance a few hours after application. Metal Color can be tinted directly in the airbrush cup using colors from the Model Air or Game Air ranges. It can also be applied with a brush. Recommended compressor settings for our colors are around 15-20 Psi or 0.5-1 kg. It is advisable, in the case of airframes and aircraft model components, to apply Gloss Black Primer, available in 60 ml/2.02 fl oz bottles (ref. 73.660) and 200 ml/6.76 fl oz (ref. 74.660) with hinge cap and dropper, to enhance the special characteristics of the aluminium shades. Metal Color dries very quickly, but it is advisable to wait 12 hours after application before applying any paint masks. Also available is Gloss Metal Varnish in 60 ml/2.02 fl oz bottles (ref. 26.657) with hinged cap and dropper. For proper maintenance of the airbrush, we recommend using Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner. Used for painting vehicles and other equipment of the German Army in the so-called first tropical scheme (Tropen 1) intended for use in Africa from March 1941 until March 1942. According to the army regulations RAL 8000 should cover 2/3 of vehicle’s surface, with the remainder being painted in RAL 7008.Both the photographic and documentary evidence confirms that vehicles painted in tropical colors also found use on the Eastern Front. This includes 38 Tiger I tanks issued to Grossdeutschland division, SS-LAH, SS-Das Reich, and SS-Totenkopf divisions from December 1942 to February 1943 which were painted in the first tropical scheme similarly to the Tiger tanks issued to North Africa.

Surface Primer is available in a range of basic shades most frequently employed to prepare the surface of the model or miniature before starting the painting process. Primers can be applied on all surfaces, resin, PVC, brass, white metal or wood. The primer preserving even the smallest detail of a model, and improves the adherence of the colors applied on this base. It is recommended to apply the Primer in various layers; the product dries rapidly and forms a homogenous film of extraordinary strength and resistance within a few hours after application. Surface Primer can be used directly or diluted with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner of Flow Improver. The recommended compressor settings are around 15-20 PSI or 0.5 to 1 kg. For best maintenance of the airbrush, it is recommended to use the Vallejo Airbrush Cleaner.Surface Primer is not flammable, and does not contain solvents.
