AFV 35116 1/35 Sd.Kfz.251/2... $59.99 $62.99
The Sd.Kfz. 251/20 Ausf. D Uhu (Owl) was one of many versions of the venerable German half track, this one fitted with a large infra-red searchlight for night fighting operations. The Uhu would "light up" the battlefield with its powerful infra-red light while other combat vehicles engaged the enemy using infra-red sensitive night vision equipment. The Uhu's driver and crew were also equipped with their own night vision equipment to follow the battle. AFV Club's Uhu features all-new tooling for the night vision scope and the "Beobachtungs Gerat 1221" assembly, molded in clear styrene, as is the rotating and tilting 60cm search light and "Beobachtungs Gerat 1251" assembly. Other newly tooled areas include the side storage compartments with positionable doors and the raised interior fighting compartment and details unique to the Uhu. Includes photo-etched detail parts and nicely detailed belt-style tracks. Decals are included for two sparsely marked vehicles.
